I have no idea if supplementary card holder can get HHonors Gold but the primary card holder can via Visa.

Amex Reserve gets you 5x TP for local and overseas spend.

Visa Infinite gets you 2x TP for local and 5x TP for overseas spend.

Admission into Private Wealth. Only applied after I knew about the new card and how great it would be to be able to use the Visa for 5X TP locally.

From my understanding it's like this: selected Private Banking customers have automatically been upgraded into Private Wealth. These individuals already qualify for the Diamanté automatically (though most if not all would have no clue whatsoever how to utilise the card like we do!).

I was promised to be "upgraded" into PW when it is officially launched here in East Malaysia in January (subject to me meeting certain requirements but no where near the USD1mil bandied about in this thread).

To the bro that called me, please contact your bank manager direct, nothing much I can do, especially from Borneo!

I think Private Banking became Premier Wealth. In terms of lounge yes there is only one Private Wealth in Msia and that's in KL. What the bank informed was that Private Wealth will be officially launched in Kuching in January (no lounge I presume). But a few of my friends are already in automatically and were invited to a private introductory dinner to Private Wealth last month.

I am not sure what you mean by that. The first round automatic inductees into Private Wealth are overqualified (by many times over) if you are talking about the USD1 mil. As for my case, let me get in first before I report.

This just means more competition for the already limited award seats available. As if it was not hard enough already to score seats on popular routes. Anyway, hope the MH-EK tie up will bring some good news to us in terms of using Enrich to book EK flights.

I will post here once the card is in hand and also the amount which I had to put in FD with MBB. That's the ultimate goal right? 5XTP local spend with Visa? So, like I've said, January. Will report then.

These are really the best way to use our hard earned miles. Tremendous value, even if it takes the patience of a monk to explain things to the AM call-centre Filipinos on duty (most HUACA for me: 4 in a day).

It is worth it though, after all is said and done. The returns are staggering compared to say a standard 127,500 Enrich Mile redemption for KUL-LHR return. As a comparison, my recent trip with BA in business class (Club World) to Europe only cost me 75,000 miles (based on miles of route/total miles in award). Enjoy your trip!

Just short of 35,000 miles so second highest. Had 275k AM ready and waitlisted for BA and CX F, BA F cleared for KUL-LHR but not for LHR-SIN so just business all the way for 190k AM (Plan B).

Wow, do share when you have time. Won't mind to have some ideas. I've got QR F A380 lined up as my next AM redemption. Still no idea how to get Etihad Apartments without a US based credit card.

You need to book 300+ days in advance. I just checked KUL-LHR and there are at least 2 CX J seats available same time next year.

CX J means Cathay Pacific business class

My 2 sen (for what it's worth):

EM: I'm also holding out for the new J class. Want to avoid LHR due to excessive taxes so KUL-LHR on the A380 does not appeal much for now.

KF: For SQ, I've saved up for Suites and departing Changi to experience The Private Room. Have flown First Class on SQ before, just not suites. Re waitlist I found that half of mine cleared while other times I just bit the bullet and paid more miles. Suites have been overshadowed by Etihad's Residence and Apartments, and to a lesser degree, QR and EK A380 First class products. We might have access to EK soon via EM. As for QR, we have AsiaMiles. Note other Star Alliance members can be experienced with your KF miles. Ones I've tried and fancy are Eva Air, Thai Airways and Lufthansa.

AM: For CX, I agree with all that you mentioned. Some destinations are not covered well by CX while availability for First Class seats in pairs are very hard to come by (for me at least). Not surprising since there are only 6 seats in the cabin and you can bet that any First Class seats made available closer to departure date will be snapped up by elite status members upgrading with miles from J class. Even for J class, some routes are near impossible to find 2 or more award seats. Also not surprising, given that CX J is comparable to some airline's F, at least in my opinion. However, through the multi-carrier award redemption route, you can experience BA, QR and other oneworld alliance members for minimal miles, like our bro herc. Be prepared to be on the phone for a long time though.

I'm like you, I don't really earn miles through actual flying. Now if someone can tell me how I can redeem Etihad award seats through Malaysian based CC churning I would be a happy man.

BA is using their 787 now, if not, MH would be way better IMO.

That is an epic redemption: Japan, Europe, New Zealand and the US.

Fact of the matter is, most people today earn their miles through credit card spend and not actual flying. Sure it would be nice to have elite status and get sucked up to by the pretty FAs but flying on award tickets most of the time earns us nothing. Still, so long as we get lounge access with the J and F awards, nothing much to complain about really. Would be nice to have those fancy baggage tags though I suppose.
