Is it possible to fly KUL-oHKG-oLAX-LIM on different carriers? AFAIK, cathay flight terminates at LAX.

Is there any restriction on the number of stopovers within a continent?
*
Asia Miles allows you to book any OneWorld airline. Google up for more details.

The limit is 5 total stopovers.

My Maybank 2 Premiere annual fee just hit at the end of August, after using it for 15 months. Strange how Maybank calculates their annual fee, fortunately I got the automatic reversal so will be keeping this for another year.

So you have another 9 months to spend kaw kaw to hit 80k for waiver right?

hmm.gif
*
That's what's a bit unclear, whether I have 9 months or 12 months to hit RM80k. Should be doable though biggrin.gif

I just transferred almost 700k VI/AR TP to Asia Miles, called in last Thursday evening, was in by Saturday morning. Good job Maybank for the efficient transfer.

Unfortunately all inbound Cathay biz class seats from the US are waitlist only over the next few weekends urgh, so stuck in premium economy. By next week I would've tried all the classes on Cathay from 1st to economy. biggrin.gif

I search n found out I can redeem up to 359 days advance. If later I change my travel date beyond it, is it possible?

For example, i redeem an award ticket on Nov'15, traveling start Dec'15, Feb'16, May'16 then Oct'16, then later when March or April, i change date for Oct'16 segment to Dec'16, is that possible? Given I already start using the award ticket for Dec'15 and Feb'16
*
Yes you can change but the change fee is US$25 per ticket per sector according to the CX rep on the phone. I've done this before although I made changes before I started travel but I did ask about changing after I started as well.

However everything depends on availability of course.

I'd be pretty pissed if I got the Diamante and only get 5x free international lounge access via Priority Pass. That's pretty sucky for a card aimed at millionaires.

millionaires would probably fly flag carriers / full service carrier ... MH,CX,SQ etc which even if they don't have their own lounge would provide an invite to a 3rd party site.

in any case, a person with USD1m won't be thinking too hard about a Priority Pass if it's important to them tongue.gif

looking to the day when Maybank has something to rival AMEX Centurion Black
*
Considering that the Amex Platinum charge card that Maybank charges RM2,400 per year annual fee can't even rival the US$450 US based Amex Platinum in terms of benefits (free Boingo, free HHonors Gold, SPG Gold, Avis Preferred, Hertz Gold, free Priority Pass Select, free Centurion lounge, free...) I don't expect that there will be a Centurion card, and if it does come, there will be very little in terms of value biggrin.gif

Same thing with the Diamante, it's not good value IMO which is what I was trying to imply.

However come to think of it the Maybank Premiere cards have excellent value in terms of airline miles redemption, so maybe there might be some hope after all.

Guys, my flight from Beijing to KL will be 1am, so MAS counter at Beijing airport will only open 3 hours before flight (which mean 10pm). If i reach early, Any chance i can go thru the security check and enter a lounge to rest?.
*
Nope. You can't go airside unless you have a boarding pass and there aren't any lounges before security at Beijing airport, maybe they've opened some in the past year since I was there, best to check.

I got to the airport around 830pm, had to wait for more than an hour before I could check in, thankfully biz class check in was quick. Then off to the lounge, but only to be kicked out of the lounge a bit past midnight when they closed.

my previous trip was traveled in biz class too. because beijing traffic was bad, so i purposely booked taxi at 5pm, reached there 6pm.. then i spent 4 hours at mcd, starbucks until their counter open..

what is your opinion on the lounge (you been to the air china business lounge) ? i spent half hour there, then went to another lounge BGS Premier lounge, this lounge was much better
*
I don't recall if I went to BGS but I certainly tried another lounge after Air China lounge was going to close. Air China lounge is meh. Bad food, ok seats.

I thought it was unlimited access to PPL in Malaysia.

Priority Pass is used for all other airport lounges worldwide

Yes I got upgraded earlier this year. I posted a website link that might give more info a few posts before this one.

Do some research and you will know what I mean... AA used to and still grab most of CX F redemption inventories. Their redemption rate are 30% lower on CX than CX own MPO members...

AA revised its redemption chart recently but still they have tier bonus on earn points
*
Heh I'm one of those grabbing CX F seats using AA miles biggrin.gif It was good while it lasted, now it's almost equivalent between AM and AA, oh well.

oic, AA was 67.5k miles one-way between US and Asia in F.. next year going up to 110k per way..
no wonder all those AA customer make noise..

(previously i was looking only at business class, that was not much different)
*
It was actually on multiple levels.

1. it's relatively easier to earn AAdvantage miles compared to CX, particularly on domestic flights. Lots of options for bonus miles once you hit certain levels.

2. it's easier to get AAdvantage miles via credit card spend too, not as lucrative as the Premiere cards here and AM/KF but still

3. there are also many opportunities to earn AAdvantage miles via sign up bonuses. It's the competitive consumer environment in the US that encourages this, people take advantage of it.

This is how people easily earn millions of AAdvantage miles, putting actual MPO members at a huge disadvantage when redeeming miles in the premium cabin. One "loophole" has closed, but the three above are still open...

Any website or market place to recommend?

BTW, do you know roughly how much a EM or Krisflyer miles worth? About RM0.10?
*
Technically buying and selling of miles is not allowed by the T&C but there are options out there. Google it.

I'd put Krisflyer miles value at around RM0.05 to RM0.06. Enrich is much less.

Haven't really been keeping up with the changes here.

What would you recommend for redeeming Biz flights to Europe? I've been converting to Enrich in the past - is there better options (AsiaMiles?) I know about Kris but seems to be less availability when redeeming
*
Asia Miles tend to be slightly better than Krisflyer in my experience although for European destinations you'd have to book pretty far ahead for either of them.

There's a dedicated Frequent Flyer subtopic started for this, I suggest asking there for more info.

maybank.. the most stingy bank i've ever face...
if not because of airmiles... ahem.. ahem..
*
How much are we talking about? I have only been with Maybank, Citi and Hong Leong. So far have not had any issues with my credit limit with Maybank, but I don't go anywhere close to the limit with them too. Citi is second highest, Hong Leong is the lowest. biggrin.gif Started out at about RM25k limit with Maybank when I first started working and never came close to using even 25% of that haha.

Is that worth to swipe RM 30,000 and pay 2% (RM 600) charge to get 60,000 treat points (Visa Infinite) to get roughly 13,000 miles?

You choose to pay by cash without any charge or by credit card and pay RM 600 charge?
*
You're paying RM0.046 per mile. If you don't have a trip in mind, then I would say it's not worth it.

If I already have say 90k miles somewhere and the extra 13k would mean the difference between flying economy vs. premium economy then I would pay the RM600.
