I guess Maybank make more on transaction fees with AMEX, hence the exchange rates are lower.
Looks like I won't be using VI much in the near future.

QUOTE(Andrew G @ May 4 2014, 11:13 AM) Who is so stupidly idiot would want to pay for this MBB 2 Cards Premier Amex Reserve on RM800 annual fee charges yearly, or spending RM80K per annum for its waiver?? I for one don't care about "Reserve" status, but the better Enrich redemption makes the Amex card worthwhile.Who would rather cares for its so-called "Reserve" status?? Note: MBB is one of the bank here who rarely waive their AF or GST charges on credit cards, unless with ridiculous-required minimum HIGH spending amount / total swipes per annum for AF waiver only. (GST is 99% surely not waive-able items!!) QUOTE(RO Player @ May 4 2014, 11:14 AM) I used my existing FD for Infinite card to apply for this card, and was approved without questions. (Although I'm not Malaysian, as such they wouldn't even give me MBB2 without FD, QUOTE(mugen @ May 4 2014, 12:01 PM) this card seems high requirement, 180k and dont seems to see any lounge access... m2 card still seems attractive... IMHO Priority Pass, 5 x free usage QUOTE(tigaxxx @ May 4 2014, 12:15 PM) Got to agree with U that m2 card platinum is still better choice for most of us..... Only real benefit is the Enrich miles + Priority pass if you use it.m2 premier is only suitable if (assuming you meet the requirement) : 1) You're a big spender - orang kaya, lol (and I'm not in that category)... OR 2) You're a frequent flyer i.e. after enrich miles (I'm in this category) Otherwise no point owning these cards..... If you have high spend, the MBB2 5% cashbash isn't so relevant as capped to RM1k spend / month. QUOTE(Andrew G @ May 4 2014, 01:41 PM) But I guess that you would definitely cancel/terminate this credit card, unless MBB could willingly waive the RM800 AF without any ridiculous conditions?? More than half way to meeting the minimum spend , not as quick as Alec though |

QUOTE(tishaban @ May 7 2014, 04:07 PM) Got my new Premier cards today. One of the nicest looking cards around, with matte black finishing. Second only to my Sapphire Preferred. Another set to add to the collection... The edges peel off quite easily though (on my Amex at least) Got a letter from Maybank today that I've won a cabin trolley http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/travel230513.pdf Looks like these cost close to $500 in the US |

QUOTE(herc @ Jun 25 2014, 01:48 PM) Yeah, best for collecting enrich miles! Other benefit is also Priority Pass x 5 annual usage if you need that. Some of the dining discounts are also not bad, only used it once though. What did you declare as your annual income when offering to pledge FD? When I applied MBB2 cards I put FD of 20K, income as 60k , for VI 50k FD and income as whatever the minimum was for that card. Then used the same FD as for the VI against Premier application , and again put income as minimum stated for those cards. |

QUOTE(chongaik82 @ Jun 25 2014, 02:52 PM) But if your income requirement already fulfil the income as minimum stated for those cards. What is the point pledge FD to get the card? That's just the numbers I put on the form ... no supporting proof. eg. MBB2 says 60K min I put 60K, VI 180k 6 months later I put that as the figure - no supporting documents by the way.Not sure if that makes a difference - I'm pledging FD anyway, so why does income matter |

QUOTE(chongaik82 @ Jun 25 2014, 03:07 PM) Exactly my thought - as don't need to provide proof of income this way anyway. Shouldn't really be relevant to the bank anyway as they have no risk at all, seeing as the CL they give is equivalent to the FD. |

QUOTE(periwater @ Jun 27 2014, 06:45 PM) No pledging FD. .I applied the cards during treats fair. Submit new form and NRIC only. I declared 0 income being a SAHM. As I mentioned earlier, I have existing MBB 2 Cards Platinum with credit liimit more than RM30k. This is one of the requirement told by the sales guy in order to get these cards. Seems Maybank are a bit strange in their selection process, considering others offered to pledge FD and also rejected |

QUOTE(zeronuker @ Nov 10 2014, 07:17 AM) Happened to me too. Funny thing was when asked at maybank, The lady said she cant answer coz she doesnt know. System kata dah approve tapi takde info on where the cards are. One fine day, pos laju showed up at home as i was heading to work. Another funny thing was, I could only sign for my principal cards. My wife had to sign for her supplementary card eventhough technically its under my name. (Maybe coz the letters were somehow addressed to her). I had issues when collecting cards from the branch always also - each time they'll insist the cards haven't been received.Best part? Both cards was supposed to be delivered to my office. Only after the staff phoning their card services department they'll locate them in another drawer as the cards come with the brochure / holder etc. and don't fit in the standard lock box used for the cards supplied in a standard envelope. On the 2 occasions , both times has taken 30+ minutes for something so simple |
