Most of the ps/2 keyboards i have used can support 7 keys pressed at once, importaint in playing games like O2jam. USB however, I have never had one tat can press all 7 keys at once. If i am not mistaken, it is called 'ghosting effect'. So, wat usb keyboards other than razer triantula can support this feature ? Cause I might be intrested in buyin one.

stop. u r trying to make urself look like a fool

ps/2 and usb 2.0 has vast speed difference (even 1.0 usb is much much faster)

this translates into faster response time, higher dpi reso, and etc

uhh we're talking about keyboards here.
wtf has higher dpi res have to do with a keyboard?
i do recall this is a gaming keyboard thread, not a mouse or whatever.
plus there are 2500dpi ball mouses which are obviously ps2.

as for response time, theres a new steelkeys 6G gaming keyboard made specifically for PS2, and it can have 8 keys pressed at the same time.

response time between ps2 and usb is not noticeable at all.
its the design of the keyboard, the movement/design of the keys, the contact surface etc that is more dependent on response.
alot of gamers still use ps2 keyboards, especially the old logitech and microsoft ones.
you telling me those gamers from then dont want to upgrade to usb keyboards?

heck even otakon, our local wcg UT/quake guy loves his old logitech newtouch.

so yea, again whos the fool?

relax dude, the guys just got sidetracked a little. They're still talking about gaming hardware tongue.gif

and like lucifah said, there are different kinds of USB (1.1 & 2)...which affects the USB mouse you're using.

back to keyboards...is anyone using Zboard? I saw it in Software Boutique yesterday and it got my attention. The interchangeble thing is just...something bound to go wrong, if you keep changing tongue.gif but what I really like is the feeling of the keys. It really feels smooth...especially the customized game buttons.

You're still the fool for not being able to answer his bloody question on whether the PS2 interface is too slow you moron. Electrical signalling standards FAILGET.

Next time maybe you should refute the question instead erm. Bullshitting?

My problem is your lack of knowledge to refute his point and then bashing him, and using some faux pas reason on subjective measurement to refute his claim. Walauwhe, you can't even answer my question on the differences. Lemme give you a list

- Faster response rate due to USB's faster signal polling time
- USB implementation is closer to the NB the usual I/O chip
- PS2's speed has to be emulated or forced in most cases
- More voltage can be supplied by USB, thus you get fancy features without the lag
- Inherent limits upon PS2's speed
- Better flowcontrol and hardware based scheduling
- None of that mucking about PS2 bridges

Go back to conputerschool idiot. It's like saying bullock cart is faster than EVO.
