I have problem with this modem.I would like to ask if you can connect to internet, does all the light on the modem is lit on including the data light.and sometimes i can online and sometimes cannot. And my link light always blink.
*
If "link" light always blinking, it mean it is time you should call them (the TMNuts TMNet)

Data light should always blinking if you connected to internet (in bridging mode), but if it light out without blinking... In my experience, it hang already and you will either have very slow speed, or no speed at all...

sometimes i can online and sometimes i cannot .Issit concern wit the data light?Sometimes i can connect to internet without the data light lit at all.does your data light lit when you connect to internet?because sometimes usually at night i have very fast connection to internet .Sometime have and sometimes dont.
*
The date light didn't lit but will only blink in an interval of time when you connect with bridging mode
Else, if it light on without blinking, then your modem are probably hang...

But in routing mode, I have forgot how is it... tongue.gif
If I'm not mistaken, it will light always with a blink on an interval of time (different from bridging mode)

If you only have good connection in night but not in morning, then it probably because of your area have lousy connection...

how to set only in modem mode? not in routing mode? howto?
*
After get yourself into the modem configuration page ( http://192.168.1.1 )
Go to WAN (or Routing) -> PPP
then remove the rules at there...

After that, don't forget to save your settings by go to Admin -> Commit & Reboot and click Commit.

but later you said

Anyway, if the PC light is off, then it mean your laptop is not connected to the modem...

Yes....l think my notebook is not connected to the Modem,
when l try to ping 192.168.1.1, it does not respond as well...

my modem already used for around 7months (connect to desktop),
all the while is working fine.

when l try to connect to notebook, it is not working (but my desktop still can connect to internet)...
after that l reset the modem...the modem not respond at all...even my desktop also can not connect...

wondering is it modem already broken???
*
Yes, most probably modem died already...
better call your ISP and ask them for help...

This modem basically sucks.

I've just had this modem for 1 week (today) and I've already called 100 to reset my connection 4 times, twice yesterday (once in the morning, once at night). Apparently this modem wasn't "set" to do PPPOE or something (according the the tech fella). He advised me to get it to any PC shop for them to change the settings.

Also this modem seems to have a lot of "Time Outs". Dunno la.. could be faulty. Some connections I just need to constantly refresh.

I say to hell with it. I'm just gonna get a wireless modem router and use that instead.
*
LOL, what you telling now is something I always say in this thread... laugh.gif

it can't connect in routing mode properly
and always modem hang (cannot access to 192.168.1.1)

Better change a new modem if you want to connect in routing mode...

Yea, it's basically Plug and Pray.. erm.. Play. tongue.gif
Had issues installing a dialer on my PC and creating a dialer for it (it just didn't seem to work)

Not connected to my Mac yet... only PC and PS3.
So far, I set it to PPPOE, auto dial when it's turned on and only 1 PC is on it... (1 ethernet output only)
If I were to use it for my PS3, I'll just unplug from PC and plug into PS3.. works fine. hehe

LOL
Plug and Pray...

Anyway, the PPPoE is what I mean routing mode even it is just 1PC connected to the DB102
But beware it will hang easily and disconnect from internet...

QUOTE(j88j @ Jul 23 2008, 12:48 AM)
well i jz got this modem on yesterday. streamyx combo 512k.
I found that i cannot go to foreign website even google.com as well.
local site is ok but unstable also. i noticed that my ip is always go to 118.xx.xx.xx
so i guess its IP problem like what lyn forumer mentioned about.

then my fren who also jz applied streamyx combo 384k lend me his DB102 for testing. I found that the line is stable, ip 124.xx.xx., no problem for foreign website but.....the speed oni up to 350k....wtf?

so i want to ask, is it the ip u got depends on ur modem ?
*
It is better you list out at least 2 front no. of the IP
118.x.x.x can be from many country...
Like 118.0.x.x to 118.23.x.x is from Japan
But 118.24.x.x to 118.31.x.x is from China
Then 118.32.x.x is from Korea......

And the IP address doesn't depend on modem... sweat.gif

Because this modem seen like only working in bridging mode... doh.gif

If your problem persist on bridging mode, then you can use hammer to smash it icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey, need help here. I've tried port forwarding for torrenting and it helps a lot in increasing my download speed and all. In the other hand, it slows down my internet speed for browsing and I mean really slow. When I open a webpage simultaneously with my running bittorrent, I need to refresh the page a couple of time as it keeps losing its connection. But the torrent still running fine.

Just in case for more information, I tried decreasing the upload speed to 1kb so that it wont affected my internet speed. I also realise even when the download speed is low eg. 10kb it still causes the same problem. It's like when I run the azureus it feeds in all the bandwidth leaving a tiny bit for internet browsing.

I believe my port forwarding setup is correct as it does improve my bittorent a lot. But probably there is something that i need to reconfigure to make things right.

Anyone who can help, his or her assistance is greatly appreciated.

This is normal especially when you online by routing mode...
