Hi all,

If this is the wrong place to post, please advise the correct thread/place to post it, thanks.

I noticed since Sunday, Umobile internet is extremely slow and unstable. Those using only for social messenger may not notice, but since I play games as well the effect is very obvious.

My game will frequently disconnect, or sometimes it won't even load/connect into the server (playing online btw). At first I thought it is the issue near my office, but apparently even in town I face the same problem.

Anyone else having the same problem? I hope it's not just my phone finding fault with me sad.gif I tried contacting their support, but it's useless as usual, no news since Monday.

If anyone can offer suggestion/help it'd be great. Thanks.

Ya am thinking of doing that, just reluctant cause hard to spare time. But if push comes to shove guess I have to.

That's the only place I have yet tried. Phone's no go, FB's even worse = = No one else having this problem?

Thanks for the suggestion though smile.gif

what device you use ?

game u play ( latency ping important ?  )

best u direct go to that u mobile service centre,. all other channel is purely wasting time

Using Note 2. I play online ones (Ayakashi, Wind Runner). Ping does not really matter, but problem is I will frequently get connection problem error. Wind Runner's even worse, can't connect completely.

It was okay until last week. Slow maybe, but never unstable. Went home for the weekend, returned on Sunday and hell broke lose = =

Will certainly go there if things do not improve in a day or two. sad.gif

you should force your note 2 into 3G mode only,. then see how from there..

3G in Penang is even worse. Where I am, cannot even get a stable 1 bar sad.gif so in the end can only use GSM with roaming.

Oh and I did try without roaming to see if it fixed the problem. Unfortunately if it did this thread won't be up...

Just an update: I went to the service centre yesterday. Not much help was offered.

They say they can escalate the matter, but they themselves discourage people in my work area to register (even though the dealers and previous person at the S.C said differently last time = =)

Guess if it does not improve or worsens I will most likely have to change my line sad.gif

Thanks chuahcs79 for the advice. It does help to go clarify in person cheers.gif

I'm from Penang, using U-Mobile RM28 postpaid package. Today, whole day unable to use data plan. I didn't hit my quota yet, and there is no H+ data symbol on my phone.

I switched SIM card with my gf who is using Maxis prepaid, and I'm able to use data, just to confirm that it's not my phone problem.

Damn U-Mobile..

Which area of Penang you from? So far I tried 4 locations frequently:

- Tanjung Bunga: <unconfirmed, suggested to manually select network station in 3g>
- Farlim: Vegetable. Takes minutes to forever to load a page
- Prangin area: Slow. Pray to God for miracle
- Sungai Dua: Very unstable sad.gif

Long story short, like you said, Damn U-M...

This has made my concern to do MNP to U Mobile then.... huhu

Heya, noticed your post in the main thread that you're from butterworth? I suggest you check with the service centre to confirm if the coverage will be good. From my experience there (only once), it is barely usable though

In my past experience, bett solutions is direct head to service centre. Never ring any of the hotline. Wasting your time and credit only. (Some ISP hotline is not free and charged airtime )

It sound about right, normally if your area is on edge of coverages, they mostly will advise you don't sign up.

Thanks for your help and advice. Am tolerating it at the moment since the internet is still usable after the quota, but if things get worse will consider to port out. sad.gif

tanjung bungah which part?
as my xperience umobile's 3g signal is better than maxis in certain part of tanjung bungah.
how abt turn off roaming, manually pick network station of umobile and 3g only?
*
Maybe I need to try the 3g first then. To be fair, I only tried in 2g mode (never changed it since 3g in S.Dua is no go). At Tng Bungah I usually use it at the hillside and Sungai Kelian area. S.Kelian is semi-bearable, tend to disconnect once a while though in 2g.

get a BRANDED phone with Strong 3g antenna like SAMSUNG , always tested that SAMSUNG > IPHONE in terms of getting signal, some china brand 1 hard to get 3g

Heya ^^ Am using Note 2 actually, so should be able to receive the signal quite well, but for some reason it's not doing good sad.gif and I think I never PM-ed you here before, but I ported the number under you smile.gif Thanks for your help last time ^^

And to those asking, I think his suggestion above is good. Just try a day or two in your area and see if it is satisfactory or not...

haha ya kah ? got top up with me to enjoy discount ? but then penang really volatile for the coverage, some places are damn good but some are terrible... if there is more suitable telco better switch on, thats why lyn forum for us to share the opinion and get our solutions  cool2.gif

maybe umobile @ your area would get better few months later then u only decide wanna join back umobile family or not,  now can try XOX, Celcom for cheap data plan, most important got no contract , u can try as long as u happy  brows.gif  hmm just let you know both i also can do ya
*
Haha yeah, topped up once under you, but finishing liao smile.gif . Will probably be contacting you again in a few days if I opt to continue with U-M.

What I noticed is the coverage is extremely unstable. It might be smooth one day, then becomes very unstable the next day. At least, based on personal experience...

XOX? Never try before. Maybe I'll try to do a bit of searching about the plan. Thanks for the info ^^
