If i remember juve only offer arsenal 8 million or something
Psg doesnt seems to be interestes in rvp
And wenger want profit so only way is to sell to man u

He didnt celebrate in his 1st 2 matches againts arsenal
I think he react like that in his 3rd match because arsenal fans
Same as adebayor. I dont think adebayor would celebrate like crazy if not the fans

He may be injured alot but his overall performance in arsenal shirt rarely dissapoints. I watch at youtube all his arsenal goal top class

And by the time arsenal sign cazorla podolski and giroud
Cazorla wasnt really top signing because he not that popular i nver really knew him maybe bcause his playing for villareal/malaga any players beside madrid/barca is unknown
Podolski is popular but he playing for mid table team and bayern reject..giroud top scorer but that time ligue 1 is ..not manybppl watch and psg was just about to rebuild team. I think this doesnt convince rvp to sign contract .
If only arsenal got ozil that time im sure he sign new contract

I can understand rvp leaving but song? Tottally unexpected
2nd arsenal best player during that time. I dont know why its like wenger let him go easily.. he one of the best cdm/cm can also be cb..no rumours no nothing just gone like that
*
If he genuinely loved Arsenal he would've signed the damn contract offered to him. Period.

Enough of defending that c*nt la.

Fans are not stupid. There is a reason why he is hated so much.

Great footballer. Despicable human being.

i dun think henry will play better with ozil than with pires/bergkamp
*
Hard to say. Like I said Ozil is a player that will murder you with options and runners up front and with Henry ahead of him plus Ljungberg and Pires cutting in from both flanks Ozil would slice open defenses with his through balls for fun.

The way we are set up at the moment due to injuries does him no favors.

You lot are being over critical and harsh on Ozil atm IMO.

Would love it when he finally comes good and shoves these words back into your faces

I wonder how many articles Squawka wants to write regarding Özil. They never stop reminding us how lazy Özil is. wtf la.
*
We all know that is bullshit. In almost every game he has played he has consistently been in the top 3 or top 5 in distances covered over a match.

Anyway love the lineup today. Got a good feeling about this.

And that is perhaps the strongest bench we have had all season. thumbup.gif

cazorla also was in a great position to shoot

Poldi was better, should've passed. Period.

Sums up Santi's half. Pretty poor from the Spaniard. Wrong decisions and misplaced passes. Has to improve in the 2nd.

when ever arsenal have the chance to take the lead.... we will blow it.

Agreed especially the one where Cazorla should've passed to Poldi. What a chance. Would've been a sucker punch being so close to half time too.

This team has no balls seriously. When the going gets tough all we do is whine and whine and whine instead of standing up, fight and let the football do the talking.

Guys, u played good football, just no luck
*
Is that a joke? Stoke fully deserved their win IMO

They were lucky to get away with those 3 stamps but overall on the balance of play they were the better team IMO.

No complaints. We were just shit.

Hold this word, if Giroud still our main striker next season. we are not gonna win anything. We got no world class striker since v.pussycat left.
*
You can put Falcao or Cavani or Costa in the team today and we still wouldn't have won.

We were that shit.

wrong... clearly u dun understand wat a world class striker is capable of...
*
Giroud was isolated to the core up front. No service whatsoever.

Liverpool for example. Suarez is as brilliant as you can get but do not discount the service he receives from Sturridge and Coutinho.

Just look at Van Persie this season. Poor service = average season.

Yep that was before today. With today's result it makes even worse hehe. 10 more games left to play in EPL. 4 tough games, 6 games that are also quite hard because most of them are fighting for relegation.

Hopefully we can win FA cup. At least it's a step forward. The team can build from that for next season.
*
Technically we are still in the running but its slim.

We are still in it for the BPL but priority should be given to the FA Cup now.

I've said since the start of the season that due to the lack of fixtures Liverpool have they will be up there and true enough it looks like they would.

Fourth with an FA Cup to show is not too shabby a season indeed.

10 more games to go.
Not to say there isn't any chance for us, but if its still there, let it be due to our winning ways, not because the other team loses.

Personally, I think the ref did fairly well in the match. It was a bleak affair after all with Stoke cutting off supplies in their half and pressing forward with ease. The penalty was a clear call, not denying there, and I don't blame Koscielny for the hand ball. Its never was a deliberate attempt, but rule is rule.

The one thing that gets me is how poor we are at attacking. Before Ozil and Ox entered the fray, we almost had zero goal attempt. We couldn't even get any proper crosses in and there wasn't any attempt of penetrating runs. Wilshere and Cazorla really had a bad day today, and nobody showed up to bear the weight of the team. Stoke did a good job of pressing our possession and keep the ball as long as they can. Once they got the goal, all they had to do was to stay behind and wait for Arsenal's desperate attempt to equalize. Typical Arsenal.... sad.gif

It just irk me that Arsenal who often showed up against European giants but falters against the likes of Stokes simply because they lack the desperation of winning on the get go. Its all mostly passing around like its training day and wait for their opponent to get distracted. It was just too easy for Stoke to take us in their half.

Get it right next time, Gooners!
*
The rule states if the ref interprets it as a non deliberate handball then he has the right not to give penalty.

And we all know Kos's hand was literally less than a yard away when the ball was struck. No way that was deliberate and if Koscielny could move his hand away in time with superhuman reflexes I don't think he would even be playing football laugh.gif

Not to mention the 3 stamps the ref missed. 2 by Charlie Adam and 1 by Glen Whelan.

I wouldn't say he did well. At all.

Then again we were poor. Doubt we would've fared any better even against the 10 men of Stoke anyway.

That handball....everybody saw it. Even Gibbs and Koscielny didn't bother to dispute the ref call.
I'm with you about the foot stamp though. Totally forgot about that. It does felt that Giroud was frustrated with the treatment he gotten from the Stokes players. I was actually hoping that the anger would produce a better play from him, but the weak deflection shot from Ox to the goal was very dissapointing. There was also one decent header that could've hit the net, but oh so close.
*
Yes I do not doubt its a handball. The question is was it deliberate?

That is what refs take into consideration when a hand ball happens. A penalty is given if the hand ball was ruled as deliberate. But was it? Everyone saw it was a handball but to think Kos would've pulled his hand away in time, its ridiculous.

Giroud....really poor but the fact he was isolated up front didn't help either. Our midfielders contributed almost nothing to him.

The turning point for me was just before half time....Santi opted to shoot instead of laying it off to Poldi. That was our best chance...

QUOTE(funnyTONE @ Mar 2 2014, 04:25 PM)
A handball is a clear penalty....regardless if its intentional or not.
As a ref, do you rely on your sight or a clear foul or based you decision on a gut-feel that Koschielny is a go-gooder church boy that never had any intention of blocking the cross with his hand?

After all that, you want to conveniently put the loss to match fixing? Get a grip and watch the game again. 22 players on the pitch, 4 officials, 2 managers, and thousands of fans watching it. Truth is, Arsenal didn't play well enough to even score any decent attempt and Stoke read our tactics like a school textbook.
*
Dude go read the rules on hand balls. A penalty may not be given by the ref if it was deemed not deliberate or not intentional. If it is as you say every hand ball is a penalty whether intentional or not every tom d*** and harry footballer will be aiming for hands as soon as they go into the box.

It wasn't a question of whether Koscielny handled the ball it was a question of whether it was ball to hand or hand to ball.

QUOTE
In the FIFA Laws of the Game 08/09 handbook, the following is documented under Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct:

A direct free kick  or penalty is awarded if a player handles the ball deliberately

Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm. The referee must take the following into consideration:

- the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand)

- the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball)

- the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement

This needs a repost.

It takes some level of intelligence to comprehend what is being said. But as usual some won't understand.
