Hello, I wonder if there's anyone of you interested or done some hardcore mac modding before. ie, cable cutting/soldering, Proc overclock, GPU modding (OMFG nVidia 7800GT flash!!!), PSU modding, casing moding and etc.

Just post here to share.

My experience is:
PM G3 ATX convertion.
PM G4 Media Bay, Proc Upgrade, GPU (FX5200) and IDE cable mod.

i would like to OC my Intel Processor for my Mac mini, there is no program to do so..

i like to hack the mini from solo to duo when the price drop.. cos waiting for July 23th.. my collegue said that the price going to be cheap about RM 6xx++

Wanna upgrade to Conroe tongue.gif.. just wait for my fren's demo pc.. hehe

What is the diff btw core duo or core 2 duo?

I got the mac mini core duo.... the RM3288 +- one lah.. with the super drive and things

Core 2 Duo is the next gen of Core Duo.
Think P4 & P3.

dun think so lar. i still havnt got much info yet. but according to source the mobo needs different chips to drive the new "brain", so better stick with core duo.

mmm.. if like that i stick to Intel Core Duo.. maybe gonna get 2.16GHz or 2.33GHz.. but i worry about the heat issue

dun overheat ur macmini lar. scary.
read more about other ppl's mod. should have plenty off ppl done the upgrade already.

what can be modded on the macbook???

i was thinking of modding the LED light...to blink with the apple logo on the lid when the machine is sleeping.....eheheheh.......

i've seen people did it with their ibook.....but forgot where liow...

nothing much to do on laptops. most hardcore modding are done on desktop.
the most crazy i've are iBook --> iTable mod.

really need to modify heasink kah? mm maybe get heatpipe one?
or can use the same heatsink but i make the fan full blast..??

no, inside Cube is very tight also. their proc dun use fan. so can take it as example.

Need to see how 1st after i got the processor.. now also kenot decide.. cos still not sure the processor can get from malaysia or not..
