I assume is casing fan or processor fan. Please check for dirt around the fan blades. If it's clean, most probably is the fan's bearings.

How fast is your fan spinning? 7000rpm?

If it is spinning fast then of course there will be noise generated by the wind.
Also it can make your case vibrate as well, you can search for the forumer darkages who is doing a bulk order on silicon gel fan vibration dampeners.

Which fans are making the noise? Case fans? Processor heatsink fan?

try adding some thermal paste on your processor before securing the heatsink. maybe the one that came with your machine already worn out

that 25 cm ur casing measurement or fan measurement? sure must be a helluva big fan to be 25 cm man.. shocking.gif

edit by sniper: bolded instead of "coolant gel"

25cm fan - 250mm fan ?

wow thats big...

Maybe the noise is coming from the whooshing of the wind, or the fans bearing noise... i dunt know if it helps or not, sometimes i like to lubricate my fan's bearing with some grease or car engine oil...

GOOD LUCK.

are you sure 25cm??.. afaik, the bigger the fan, the less noise they make.. are you using a performance fan that is running at high rpm?.. then for sure alot of noise.. maybe you could get a fan controller to lower the rpm.. that should lower the noise..

pointless. musketeer only controls 1 fan and not a very good job at controlling it either.

and the rest of the things are useless. smile.gif yeah i have 2 units of that. tongue.gif for bling bling purpose only.

my trusty fan controller is still Vantec Nexus.

EDITED : btw other than the side panel - where else could you fit a 25cm fan. biggrin.gif

Check and see if the casing fan is working properly. Normally its not that load. Get a dampener if you need. Well i have tried to DIY some dampener my self. Get some thin foam and use double side tape or any adhesive and stick at places where you think the noise is.

its hard to get a fan that size as its not that common and hard to find...
btw, before doing adding any dampener or wutsoever, wut kind of noise is it?
fan spinning noise, or the vibration noise??
if fan spinning noise, then try to clean the fan thoroughly and apply grease...
if vibration noise, add dampener, tighten the screw more....
