It's sad to see, as a former SPM student, news channels and Malay newspapers using incorrect grammar, like 'ia' which cannot be used to refer inanimate objects, 'di kalangan' ( should be dalam kalangan ), para remaja-remaja ( should be para remaja ) , and many other inconsistencies.

So what's the point asking students to memorise 'proper tatabahasa rules' if the media aren't using it correctly?

I'm sick and tired watching and listening to whoever appear on tv and say "mereka-mereka yang telah.." or "semua guru-guru.." or worse "para-para penjawat awam/swasta.." Korang punya kata ganda mmg epic fail. And nowadays also, during news "telah berlaku DEKAT (location)...", why can't use "di" or "berdekatan".. bahasa pasar pun rojak sekali..

Nowadays journalist no standard not only wrong grammars even the articles they write also wrong no proof reading before go for printing. I came across an article in Harian Metro >> First it said "Kereta mangsa terjunam kedalam gaung dan pemandu mati serta-merta" than continue with how it happened blah blah and lastly "Mangsa memanjat keluar drp kereta dan meminta tolong di tepi jalan" I was WT??? I thought maybe I read wrongly I read 3 times and asked my friend to read he also laugh.
