we did quite 'okay' for today's match.

i can see that they are trying very hard to minimize the crossings laugh.gif in which however exposed our lack of commanding attacking central midfielder to control the ball at the opponent's half. too many loose balls.

that role shud have been perfect for mata, but then again, moyes plays him as a winger. (which i strongly against because of mata's lack of pace).

this also shows that playing 2 holding midfielders at the same time (carrick-fletcher or carrick-cleverly) isnt working anymore. the combination yields too little service to the strikers (which resulted in less goal scoring chances and had to rely heavily from the crosses). i wish moyes stick with carrick alone as the holding midfielder and kagawa/mata as the CM in front of carrick since kagawa/mata can pass/dribble the ball better than cleverly

carrick was consistent as he was in the last 10 matches or so. cleverly was average, but better than he did in the last 5 matches he played.

persie shud have scored the first minute chance. still not quite back to his goal scoring form. same goes to rooney. they are very average since they came back from injury.

de gea was superb. our defenders played surprisingly good laugh.gif but that might have been because arsenal themselves played very poorly.

hopefully this one point can be the stepping stone for united to back to winning ways.

QUOTE(Reon @ Feb 13 2014, 06:34 AM)
Didn't have much expectation on this match anyway so 1 point away to Arsenal seems a decent result especially we didn't concede goal. It's just that the European Footballs are slipping away further more when Liverpool won at Fulham with last 10 minute PK. doh.gif

Tom Cleverley still doesn't look convincing enough to be a starter though. Other than doing the usual roaming around center part I just couldn't remember he did anything offensive to actually set up a play or through pass or some sort. Everytime I see he gets the ball he will quickly pass it away (mostly backward) to avoid being tackled. He just doesn't have the confidence with the ball or not man enough to handle responsibility and taking risk for offense play. Gone are the days Scholes one man can bring the ball from back to the front.  sleep.gif

i believe his role tactically only allows him to do so. since moyes wants to play 2 holding midfielders. dunno why, maybe becoz moyes isnt confident with our defenders?

good  news is rafael, jones should return for next fixture.can't wait to see the return of fellaini

hope the squad take advantage training in dubai.
*
nice.

fellaini might have been a flop, but he'll improve his game or moyes tweak his tactic a lil bit and ask fellaini to charge forward.

good lah rooney wanna extend his contract even though he knows there's a good chance we might not be able to play for UCL.

maybe he was being reassured by moyes that he will bring big names players next season? brows.gif

kagawa also sudah masuk. still kenot change the game becoz clearly the idiot who is running the team wants the team to play passes to the wingers for them to cross.

we all know that with exception of januzaj, we have some of the worst wingers in the premier league.

maybe he plays like zidane during training. dunno lol.

cleverly was never the same player after he had the long term injury. if fergie is still in the team, i think he would have sold him or loan him off. like djemba djemba lel

QUOTE(Silver & Cold @ Feb 26 2014, 05:37 AM)
After giving us hope by playing through middle and some pretty decent football against palace the other day, today he reverted back to playing cleverly, valencia and young. Cannot brain this at all bro, why fix something that is not broken? Kagawa in also no use already since midfield so handicapped, must be the result of tom cleverly i guess?

The biggest sin for moyes is to drop fellaini who arguably played his best football of the season against palace, and subbing in welbeck instead of
januzaj. The flowing 1 2s, triangles also pon tak ada in this game. Any fan in this world would know we lost this match because of Moyes' formation and starting line up. Now United got an uphill task for the 2nd leg, even at home.
*
dont forget ferdinand's mind boggling long balls trying to find the strikers directly. which i believe NONE made it to the strikers feet.

well, later if man utd do happen to win all those usual moyes buttlickers will witch hunt you for criticizing moyes. laugh.gif

one of the worst performance i have seen United play so far this season

lack of motivation, urgency, fitness and believe to win the game....surely this is not about luck or about player individually

totally deserve win for Olympiakos(the weakest team among 2nd place in group stage)...buat malu je haizz
*
not just this season eh. i think one of worst since EPL being introduced in the early 90s.
