Both commentators were praising Rooney's "skill" in that attempt. Seriously, I fastpalm to the max. That is the only thing a 300k per week "superstar" produced. Rooney was terrible, losing the ball easily a few times.
*
give 300k to any supporter in the old trafford and he can def played better than rooney was in the match lol

so is this the worst title defence in the history of premier league?

a champion last season, now possibly gonna end up at 7th?

good job moyes. you really did a good job with this club. master tactician indeed

Why did moyes replace …ata with ferdinand? Just to use up subs?
*
because he is master tactician.

he knows he's gonna lose, so he subbed in another defender so that the team would not be ripped apart.

so much for 'winning mentality'

What do you expect from Moyes? Agree that Mata -> Rio is to limit the damage. Knowing Liverpool performance this season they can score more if leave with only 1 center back.

With this kind of players, I'm sure they can create more chances than only 1 shot on target.  doh.gif
*
he is fulfilling his prophecy of everton ended up higher than man utd smile.gif

im surprised he wasnt sacked after the lost against newcastle in new year.

if the man utd board is still ignorant enough to put their faith in this guy who has never won absolutely anything, good luck to the club, to its financial status, its value, the ever decreasing supporters, etc.

might as well hire Tony Pulis instead of Moyes by the end of last season lol

like i said many times before, 1 step forward, 3 steps backward.

everytime we won a match, 'omg this is it, the turning point of our already miserable campaign'

the next thing u know, we lost miserably. at home. for countless of times already.

old trafford = theatre of dreams? yea, keep on dreaming lah

Actually by the midway point of the season everytime we won a match I was thinking "a good result" but didn't dare label anything as a turning point.

For me a turning point is if we go on an unbeaten/winning run (8 or more games), not when you win 1 or 2 games in a row.
*
because winning in a convincing fashion is already becoming a rarity, any win is considered to be 'yeaaaa, take that pool/city/chelsea/gunners, we're gonna catch up with u guys sooooooooonnn' lol

wont change the fact liverpool played way better from this first minute till the injury time.

honestly, I didn't dare to expect any kind of convincing charge (be it for the title or cups) after
1) the entire backroom staff changed (this was always going to make DMs job harder) and the transfer activity fail in the summer
2) the home losses to WBA (which i think was due to DM doing over-rotation before a CL game), Everton (ugh) and Newcastle (ugh)

Between that and the other performances, it was pretty clear that we would be having a frustrating season in the league. So it was more a case of don't look at other teams, don't look at title challenge chances, instead hope the backroom and DM can pick things up and improve sooner rather than later.

Was hoping for a top 4 finish, but now that is gone. I feel the Europa League is a mixed bag. On one hand it will give DM and the team European football. On the other hand it is not the CL, so it's hardly exciting unless we make the late stages or meet another big name.
*
if arsenal happens to lose the semi fa cup, there will be an all non european qualification contenders final. or if arsenal happens to lose the final, any team apart from arsenal that gonna win the fa cup will take the final spot of europa leaugue tongue.gif

angers toward DM aside, the sub was a justified move
remember what SAF said in the 1-6 defeat by MC, he thought the team should have contained and not open up more space for the opponent
*
that means that we no longer play to win, but rather play to reduce a possibly bigger losing margin

entering into a match with expectation to win and to limit damage are two different stuff bro
you seriously think that we can overturn the game at that point of time, with one man down and less than 20minutes to go ? or you would prefer the team to continue chasing the wind and expose yourself at the back ?
*
I would prefer my team to lose with heads held high.

Moyes already "surrender" before the match started.
http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1752818/...d-clash?cc=3436

Brendan Rodgers admitted he was taken aback when David Moyes had declared Liverpool were the favourites to win at Old Trafford and said he would never have said the same about any visitors to Anfield.

Liverpool justified Moyes’ billing by winning 3-0 with two penalties from captain Steven Gerrard as well as Luis Suarez’s 25th goal of the prolific season but Rodgers said that, unlike his Manchester United counterpart, it was not in his nature to be so defeatist before a game.

He explained: “I was probably surprised before the game when I heard we were supposedly coming to Old Trafford as favourites. I would never say that at Liverpool -- even if I was bottom of the league.

“Anfield is Anfield. We expect to win and we have a mentality that has been developing over 18 months which we expect to win home and away and the belief is in the players and you see that in their game.”

While United are seventh, the position Liverpool finished 12 months ago, Rodgers insisted his first season at Anfield should not be likened to Moyes’ difficult start at Old Trafford.

He added: “It is incomparable where we were at. He [Moyes] came in and they were champions with world-class players. We were eighth when I came in and there was a hell of a lot of work to do.”

Rodgers saluted his players for their performance as they ended the club’s run of six straight defeats at Old Trafford.

He said: “I thought we were outstanding -- from the first whistle our intent was to attack and press and to work. Clearly I am very happy. To dominate the game like that was very pleasing. I thought we could've had more goals.”

However, although Liverpool have taken 26 points from their last 10 league games, Rodgers downplayed talk of winning a first league title since 1990.

He said: “We are up there on merit so of course we have an opportunity but I'm not losing sleep over it. We have better things to talk about.”

Liverpool were awarded three penalties but Rodgers said: “We are a team who gets penalties because of our aggression in our attack.”

He said United captain Nemanja Vidic’s sending off was “harsh” but defended his striker Daniel Sturridge against accusations he dived for the penalty that brought the Serb’s red card and Liverpool’s third spot kick.

Rodgers explained: “Vidic isn't going to get back and Daniel has a choice: he either stamps on him or tries to hurdle him, and he tried to hurdle him.”

He also supported referee Mark Clattenburg’s decision not to dismiss Rafael da Silva, who, having been booked, then conceded the first penalty.

The Liverpool manager said: “It was definitely a handball but I don't think Rafael should've been sent off. By the rule he should've been sent off because the consequence is you get a penalty.”

yeap, its pretty basic that any team playing at home has the advantage.

example, any top teams like man city, they cant say that they are the fav when they play at Stoke.

yes, i was bewildered when moyes made such claims earlier. i was like dafuq havent play also already wanna raise white flag. pathetic.

then do you feel better when we lost 1-6 to City ?

half glass empty is better than half glass full?

how sure are you that the score line 100% definitely getting worse? im just saying that they shud be playing for the fans who bought expensive tickets only to witness the team has 0 motivation to even try to dispossess the opponents after 3-0 down.

this is manchester united we're talking about.

but then again, this proves that moyes has no plan B at all. when plan A fails, just add more defenders. thats all.

this statement is unwarranted and baseless.

if your team is no longer the feared team even when they play at home at the theatre of dreams, should we instead praise them for the many records broken? rolleyes.gif now thats pure ignorant.

when the team plays well, credit is due.

when the team plays horrible, they deserve the criticism.

of course to u is easy becase you're not the season ticket holder. people bought season pass tickets for thousands of ringgit to see the team at least play positive football and score goals and they did not deserve to see what has been unfolded in old trafford alone for the past year.

Assumptions, assumptions assumptions.

So the team isn't playing well. Nobody said that that should be celebrated.

We're all hurting from this loss.

I just seriously wish both sides can get along, but it will always be difficult if one side continues to bash, insult and flame the manager and the players and the other side continues to be annoyed by it.
kesederhanaan. kritik is one thing. over the top emotional bashing is another. I'm not saying you, i'm just starting the discussion from your post.

If you provide an interesting discussion is one thing. Joke a bit also understandable.

But if all you provide is insults, flaming and negativity, then how is that conducive to the forum environment? Imagine. One forum thread with 2500 posts of whining, b****ing, insulting man united. Is that called a supporter's thread?

I understand that we all need to release the frustrations. So I held my tongue for 2 days. It's the third day now. Let it go.

In life, you always have two choices. To be happy or to be unhappy. I choose to be happy. That's all there is to it.
*
Nobody said that that should be celebrated.

So whats with the tongue in cheek comments about lalang and 'oh this is when we see who is the real fan and who is not' nonsense? So we the clearly disgruntled man utd fans should just keep quiet about the team performance, close one eye and hope that everything will be alright? Any negative opinion = not a true fan, lalang? Why dont you address those who made such comments as well eh?

Losing against Liverpool, a top team is one thing. Losing CONSISTENTLY at HOME against BOTH top and low tier teams is totally different.

I think it's pretty clear that there are 2 sides of supporters here. 1 that wants moyes to GTFO and 1 that wants moyes to stay because he needs more time.

You should know by now I am the one of the former. To those that wish moyes to stay, I applaud you for your patience and perseverance after the team getting rip apart time and time again.

one last thing, you do know that the whining, b****ing part could have been less IF the team was PERFORMING WELL in the first place right? smile.gif Just because we complain does not mean we care less about the club. We criticize because we CARE. No matter how hopeless the team is, we still made the effort to watch the matches live, even if it means having to disrupt our sleep cycle even with the low expectation of the team winning.

my 2 cents

if you care for something.. you shown it love. and its fine to criticize here and there but continously bashing in almost every post surely can raise "reasonable doubt"  hmm.gif

if we are not losing consistently, we might not even have to post anything negative about man utd at all.

sad isnt it, we lost more at home than away

In case you didn't notice, I've chided both sides of the divide asking both sides to be civil with each other.

And I've also mentioned there's no harm in discussing in a civil manner the performances of the team.

but as I mentioned before, constant whining, b****ing, insulting, blind bashing, does not a discussion make up. I'm not saying either side is a better supporter. I'm urging both sides to tone down their posts and try to be more positive. At the end of the day, we're man united supporters.
I couldn't agree more.
*
is labelling moyes as a master tactician (in a sarcastic way of course) is not civil? this is part of my direct criticism towards moyes because if you watched the liverpool match, he did not change his tactics when his tactics were clearly not working.

i did not put any personal insults towards moyes in any of my posts post-liverpool match. or would you rather have me labelling him with an adjective or a noun that is degrading to his personal life to prove your point?

the thing that annoys me alot is the fact that you quoted my posts to make your point when the fact that you can quote hundreds of other posts that are more harmful and insulting in nature.

i too did criticize several players such as januzaj and rooney and persie. I criticized januzaj that he easily falls down like a stick. Is that an insult? No, it is my metaphorical description to point out that he falls rather too easily even with the slightest of touch. is this what you called as whining, b****ing, insulting, blind bashing?
