If check using antutu what resolution it stated for your device?

What youtube version are you using? Or Kodi? If it's the KODI addon, it's normal.

i have not come across any good dedicated taiwanese or korean shows apps.

but there must be!

the ones i know are tagged onto china apps - decent ones but they all come with chinese subs, sometimes dubbed in mandarin.

if looking for only taiwanese/korean shows with eng subs... it is tough.

limited selection in kodi addons like azdrama, drama24, dramanice, etc. - created by and for those who can't understand or read mandarin.

I understand there is no replacement for Astroxx. Even the illegit myiptv and HDTV has below par quality and sometimes not stable. What I mean is to replace ASSTROXX as not to pay astroxx anymore since I can stream free movie online, as that's what I usually watch anyway and all other Asstrozx channel is a waste.

I guess for HD sports channel, worst case is I will watch via AOTG app using my parents account. Still managable. As for iflix/netflix, watching through smart tv native apps is the best way to go to get FULL HD, even 4k content. Just a matter of subscribing monthly.

Since i have a 4K HDR smart TV, i guess i can get the best of both world with android box + smart TV. In the end my decision will boil down to whether I want to get a more reliable support/recommended by many (Minix Neo U1) or get a better spec, able to render HD audio and 4K HDR video (Q10 pro). I am more inclined to get Minix Neo U1 at the moment, since my smart TV can do USB playback for high grade files ( i think)

Just to corroborate what has already been said.. Its only a matter of finding the source.. Some can't or would rather pay others to handle such.. So, it's up to you.

BUt, yeah, some had ditched Astro, not bcoz they get the same channel, but they had more entertainment channels to view compared to Astro, hence they willing to forgo Astro channels.

Android TV boxes, there is no guarantee, you may receive a channel/stream today, the next moment, you might not be get it. You have to constantly, keep abreast on changing providers and streams.

Get the Minix Neo U1... I'd pick it over the Mi Box any day without blinking. Do a search on this thread for a personal review and that of others.. I can tell you right away that I haven't come across a 1080p HEVC file it didn't handle smoothly..

Yes it does.. That's probably the more popular H.264 format.. Having used it before, it can handle higher bitrate files such as BD rips.. Also H.264... If I recollect correctly, where it struggled was with a few H.265 files.. Probably fixed in a firmware update or so..

Nevertheless, if one's buying a device now, better to get the more recent Neo U1, especially as it runs lollipop... Needed for the upcoming Kodi V17.
