QUOTE(AVFAN @ May 20 2016, 10:23 AM) now that i have watched this video... no need to wait! you get the same android, same ui, same voice recognition functions, same 4k 60fps and the apps built inside... SHARP and SONY UHD4K tv's! exactly.. it's really the same UI like a Bravia Smart TV. wonder when can i purchase it to get my old 2010 Samsung LCD up and running like my Bravia.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ May 20 2016, 04:38 PM) yr old samsung... is it a 4ktv? if not, it will not be able to display what the 4k box can deliver. it will work, but the uhd4k features will not be utilized. sony, sharp, philips 4k tv's now come with same class of android but may have bigger memory. it is indeed very convenient to have android apps in the tv for viewing all kinds of stuff but w/o hd audio. for hd audio playback, will need some other box. this mibox 4k: http://www.mi.com/en/mibox/#specs4k 60fps 2/8gb marshmallow 6.0 dts/dd can't pass thru dtshdma/ddtruehd/dd atmos - too bad, will not appeal to home theater owners playing bluray/bdmv for hd audio. shoot, you're right - it's not even a 4K TV.. was too excited to see the UI, I totally forgot about it.

hi guys, i currently enjoy having kodi + youtube on my sony android tv, and is currently looking at a way of converting my 7yr-old samsung HD LCD TV to be used on the same way (nothing much, just kodi + youtube) i'm eyeing this android box : HiMedia H8 Octa Core (2G RAM+16GB) not sure if it's a bit overkill, but i'm also looking at an opportunity to upgrade to 4K TV in the future if the LCD goes kaput.. hence the reason to be fixated on that particular android box. anybody using one currently? how's it going anyhow - any frequent crashes/issues/etc?

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jun 24 2016, 02:28 AM) you could just get the Raspberry Pi 3 and setup Kodi on it, installing the YouTube addon takes care of YouTube demands. It's much cheaper and capable... So when you eventually require a you know what, that is not a bad idea at all.. i'll do some research for Rasp Pi then.. thanks!
