Hi there,
I was planning to get the Mibox 5th generation to install KODI and stuff to watch streaming. Anyone has this and what's the review?

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Feb 24 2016, 11:26 AM) Mibox specs are average but storage space are abit low, which requires constant cache/data clearing or Kodi might crash. So, if I'm looking for easy to use and nice interface and supports HD, should I go for Mibox or HiMedia? If HiMedia, which model because there are like a few of them. My wish list for a media player is:The up side is their UI is simple and nice looking, plus the remote is sturdy and works well with Kodi interface. Pls be informed some other box remote "return/back" button actually return u back to Kodi main screen instead of "1 page back" within the video addon. 1. Ease of use. 2. Nice interface. 3. Plays HD. 4. Supports wireless. 5. Doesn't break down easily. 6. Support is easy to be obtained. 7. Does not require much tweaks/upgrades, etc. Thank you. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 24 2016, 02:14 PM) 1 - 4.... Most reasonably priced boxes handle this well, besides can always install & customize a different launcher. Ease of use? Get a good airmouse or touchpad + keyboard Combo remote.. Thanks, buddy!5... Good luck.. 6... Same as 5.. I believe the Mibox has better support than HiMedia.. Minix rules. 7... These are boxes running heavily tweaked softwares that were only meant to run on mobile phones and tablets.. Bugs & tweaks are expected. So much here depends on one's willingness to dabble.. The more questionable apps or addons installed, the higher the chances of something going wrong. Especially on a box with lower specs or buggy firmware. Heh, I'm just getting one to view streaming live TV and movies. Won't be using the box for anything else other than that. Since you mentioned Minix, what's the full name so I may look it up? Thanks again. |

I have just purchased a Minix Neo U1. However, it seems that using the existing remote control. it is very very difficult to access certain panels/options within an application. It seems that it should respond better to a mouse or something. Is that the case?
If it is, should I get a MiniX NEO A2 Lite 2.4G Air Mouse with Keyboard like this one? http://www.lelong.com.my/minix-neo-a2-lite...7-01-Sale-I.htm Or can a regular Logitech mouse/keyboard work, like this one? http://www.lazada.com.my/logitech-r6l4br7-...ite-569120.html Thank you. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Mar 14 2016, 10:53 AM) I prefer the A2 as it feels more like a remote than a keyboard + touchpad combo.. The latter feels too awkward for me during daily usage. So yeah, while most regular bluetooth or usb dongle wireless device keyboards and mouse will work, for a media center, like me one that looks and functions as a remote while still sporting a full keyboard. So weigh both options & go with which you reckon would be a more comfortable fit in your hands & for daily operations. Airmouse (waving) vs TouchPad (sliding). Can this one totally replace the existing remote? By the way, thanks for the Minix recommendation. It's nice! |
