Yo guys,

Samsung Tizen OS sucks! That said, anyone can recommend a nice android box for below rm300? preferably able to play 4k, Kodi. Thanks! Never heard of the brands so not really sure about reliable they are. Thanks!

lol i think u and I are in exactly the same situation roaming around in the same discussion. I also just got a KU6000 and got annoyed with the tizen. now looking at an android box as well ... haiz
*
What a coincidence! I have a KU6000 too. Don't tell me you have the 50 inch as well? lol
There are quite a number of brands but most of them are all china brands that I never heard of. I'm not really sure how reputable they are and I don't want to spend too much on it either.

Hope people can help us smile.gif

As been mentioned many time, just read thru the last couple of pages...there are so much info on various brands.

In short, my personal experience, I liked this 3 boxes, Himedia Q5, Himedia Q10, Z4 TV Box (OEM box - you could check it at lelong.com)

Appreciate this man! Complete noob about Android TV and what brand to choose from. These recommendation will help us noobs narrow down our choices. smile.gif I just don't have the luxury to back read plus the brands are unheard of. biggrin.gif

They already did ... there's a bunch of info.
Now help yourself by reading all of them and don't expect to be spoon fed like a baby. Kindof tired reading such posts every few posts, a baby will appear. Sigh ...!

Appreciate the advice but the "baby" comment is unnecessary.

So what... You think we have the luxury of simply answering to your every whim about android boxes, particularly when its all just a simple search away or heck, just a page behind... User AVFAN as recent as 2 days ago... graciously typed out a long post, summarizing core info and you do not have the luxury of reading it...?  shocking.gif  In case you are unaware, this is a FORUM... Defined as :-
CODE
A place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
Nowhere in the above definition does it say its a place that acts as a customer service center. You want people at your beck and call? Stick to customer service centers belonging to the likes of Samsung, TM and or Astro.. Jeez!
Sorry to burst your bubble... How about you do yourself and others a favor...act like an adult and at least read some info that has already been put up..After which, if you have particular questions or comments, the community would be more than willing to contribute.. Example? See below.. You can clearly see that zzzhhhzzz did some reading. Notice my response.

Point taken sir. I apologize if my question on the previous post is deemed as redundant. Didn't mean to cause a raucous over a question. Sorry for the OT:peace:

Back on topic.

I was just wondering that other brands are being shipped from overseas while Himedia doesn't. Question is, is Himedia manufactured locally? It seems to be one of the few Android boxes that aren't imported from China. I was just thinking about local warranty and support.

Just got mine today. Haven't really compared it with other brands but the one I got is responsive and I can easily behind at the back on my TV as it has velcro strip that I can use. So far so good.

It's good plus it's cheap and it seems like its a local distributor which means you can get your item faster. I bought mine for rm280 bangwall.gif

I have balance 10GB internal memory out of 16GB. Generally is 10gb enuff or shud i add another 32GB (micro sd card) into my Beelink Mini MXiii 2 box?  hmm.gif
I only have 3/4 addons in Kodi and additional 5 apps.
*
In my opinion, I think it is more than enough unless there are games and other apps you would like to install. The purpose of the android box is just to stream anyway so I guess 10GB of ROM is enough.

Guys,

I just recently changed my internet provider. I was trying to connect my MXQ PRO running on Android 5.1 but the WIFI name cannot be found. The setup of my home network is that I have a modem and router which has a wifi name similar to each other. Any thoughts why it couldn't find the WIFI hotspot on my andorid box? appreciate the help!

what provider change, what router?

likely u need to change the router ip, e.g.

192.168.0.1 is reserved for TM/UNIFI incoming and router.

ask yr new isp provider.
*
Changed to Time's 100 mbps plan. My other devices such as phone, PS4 and TV worked but my Android box doesn't. I'm not sure if I need reconfigure some setting in my router to make it work. The modem is detected but the router doesn't hmm.gif

first find out what the IP setting should be for TIME.

then check what is set in yr box.

some devices auto detect and set, some don't.

Thank you sir! I'll try it out once i'm at home smile.gif
