Just switch from Maxis Fibre to UniFi Fibre. Noted that a lot of streaming app does not work in UniFi while there is no issue in Maxis.
How do you all resolved the problem?
Thanks!

1) Google DNS - did that.
2) the names of these apps - there are a lot but taking the few common are like Cartoon HD, Movie HD, Megabox HD & etc. 3) what device u r using to stream these apps - Remix Android player. 4) what router r u using now... tm stock or yr own - own (ASUS). 5) what speed u had with maxis and now with unifi - 30 before, now 100. Most of the time, it throws back the error either cannot play the movie, forever loading apart from being slow. No such problem when using Maxis. Were you all able to play all these streaming movie apps including the Chinese ones under UniFi? This post has been edited by Euthenics: Feb 6 2017, 01:59 AM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 6 2017, 10:30 AM) check ip address at yr router. Would you be kind enough to explain as to why it need to be 192.168.1.1 as the IP range?unifi-aus... need to be 192.168.1.1 all yr devices need to follow that. If it were using different IP range, what issue would it cause? This post has been edited by Euthenics: Feb 6 2017, 03:54 PM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 6 2017, 02:08 PM) Haha... I think you all have more than mine. It's the common one that I find it strange cannot be played. I don't have such issue when using Maxis. However, I have found workaround for those apk such as Megabox, Cartoon HD and Movie HD. I have to change the player to Kodi and only then it can play via Kodi app. Last time, can just click 'watch now' and it will play with no issue. With UniFi, it doesn't work. Not sure why. Unfortunately, for those Chinese apk can't select to change the player unless they have Kodi extension I presume. This post has been edited by Euthenics: Feb 6 2017, 04:49 PM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 6 2017, 04:49 PM) every service provider uses a unique IP address. Thanks for your assistance. For a LAN IP, it shouldn't matter as the user can choose either the default that comes with their router or change to one that suits them for specific reasons. But I supposed no harm in trying.u can't use any address, just like the postman will not be able to find yr house if u use any area code, any address. TM and TM routers 192.168.0.1 TM and other routers 192.168.1.1 i do not know what maxis or TIME uses. u can google and read all about providers, router setup, connectivity, etc. have u tried it? Just to check with you all. Do you all use Kodi mostly to play all the streaming app in your Android player? Seems like you guys/gals don't have such problem when using UniFi all this while. I went to a customer place once to set up the Android player but couldn't get those streaming apps to run properly as they are using UniFi and TM's router that comes with it. So I thought perhaps it's a UniFi issue. Even the installer says TM block a lot of streaming apps in UniFi as I was told but not sure if it's true or not. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 6 2017, 05:12 PM) i hv been using TM Unifi for 5 years. I see. Is all those apps played via Kodi only?been streaming Kodi, even 4K, china apps, whatever apps. Ethernet or Wifi. Whether android box, android tv, android tablet or android phone. If you don't use Kodi but play the movie/drama using those streaming app directly, does it work on UniFi? |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 6 2017, 05:20 PM) All of it, I guess. Usually, I experiment it on my side first to test out everything. In any case, I just switched to UniFi for various reasons. Come to think of it now, perhaps should have stick with Maxis for a while longer. But contract signed already so can't terminate it unless willing to bear the penalty. QUOTE(dwRK @ Feb 6 2017, 05:28 PM) Your case is very strange... Yes, it won't play using its native player with the app. I have installed MX Player and there is another one which I can't remember for now.Yes, Lan ip is internal and can be anything...as long as dhcp is working and serving the box proper address, dns is not tm's so it's not blocked there... So the box has internet, the apps I presume pulls the movie posters...but it just won't play through its native player...right? The strange part is I have tried it on Minix box (test briefly) apart from my own Remix Android box, it just doesn't seem to work properly. All this happened when I switch to UniFi. There was no issue when I was using Maxis back then. This post has been edited by Euthenics: Feb 6 2017, 05:42 PM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 6 2017, 05:37 PM) Thanks for your feedback and assistance provided.QUOTE(dwRK @ Feb 6 2017, 05:57 PM) Thanks for your feedback and assistance provided.Nothing changed actually except from Maxis to TM connection (and its newer TM's Fiber modem). Wish I could access the the Fiber modem inside for R&D purpose though. QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 6 2017, 05:38 PM) IMO, looks like the issue is from the individual apps or the box's firmware. Between the app fetching the content, pushing to the default player and the player playing it.. There's an issue. Thank you for your feedback and assistance provided. To assist, you would have to backup and cough up the various problematic apks... Upload unto Gdrive or similar and share.. Send via PM if concerned about losing thy bread.. Tests will be run on Unifi network. Alternatively, if you've got ample mobile data. Simply connect the device via WiFi to your phone's hotspot and test. That will immediately rule out a TM issue. After obtaining from all your feedback that there is no issue under UniFi for streaming apps, so it seems possibly the issue is as described by Voncrane that "between the app fetching the content, pushing the default player and the player playing it", there is an issue. Individual apps or box firmware is always a possible factor involved. The suggestion changing to phone hotspot was helpful indeed. Initially, I found the workaround which what I did was: Launch streaming app > select Custom > Select Kodi It plays the movie in Kodi. Again thanks for all of your feedback that not everyone use Kodi to play. After doing the above, from then on I can launch Cartoon HD, Megabox, Movie HD directly on the app itself. Not sure what actually is the problem except to suspect its either the Android box native player itself the issue or somehow the streaming app native player issue or something else entirely. Guess, will need to test it further since the solution is not entirely clear. But thank you for everyone's assistance here. Need to do more testing now. QUOTE(voncrane @ Dec 16 2016, 07:03 PM) The Remix OS sounds great (claims easy run of Android & or Android TV apps) and with PC like functionality For hardware specs, I think you all know better than me.Just for sharing. In terms of software, the Remix OS to me is one of the superior one out there for now. Launching several apps at the same time on Android is possible with Remix OS and ease of use since it's almost PC like. Here's a screenshot of the configured Remix OS: This post has been edited by Euthenics: Feb 6 2017, 08:02 PM |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 6 2017, 08:04 PM) As a seller... It's generally frowned upon in this thread.. As are subtle marketing ploys. I'm sure you understand and no offense meant. That's what the garage sales section is for. Ah...I see you what you mean.On the apk esp the streaming one, it's no point hiding it. I see some sellers doing it but it's a waste of time although I understand it's their bread and butter. But seriously, no point hiding the apk as it's not difficult to extract the apk on Android and share it out. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 6 2017, 08:14 PM) at least u r honest about it, good for u. Agreed. I came in as a user only as I encountered issues coz after all I need to run my own player to enjoy as well besides doing R&D.but really, this is a section strictly for users only. once sellers get active here, the section is finished. |

QUOTE(dwRK @ Feb 6 2017, 08:34 PM) Well, bro voncrane did "ask" for it...so our friend here quickly jump in about remix os & screenshot lor... What I only did was to share Remix OS because it is really that good.So far he has refrained from any soft selling...other than getting free "consultation" from us about his problem. IMHO, the remix io+ is the box to watch out for...the io will be out soon, the mini a bit too underpower as a "pc"... You can usb boot remix os to try on Intel pc and load apks to use/try out... And no, I don't have any to sell now. Our currency is quite bad. Besides, I don't simply sell the common ones of which you can get it out there quite easily and anywhere. The Remix IO+ is good and can't wait to test it out. I find the Remix OS is more useful as an Android TV box rather than using it for production work. But the Remix OS is quite well written considering the people behind was working at Google before. What I did recently for R&D is a 'DIY' Android box and testing a few Android OS out there. But to me, the Remix OS is still the superior one. Long term, I'm not sure how Remix OS can survive longer when Chrome OS can run Android apps easily.
