Keywords in that ad: Female RCA & VGA-Out.. What you should be looking for is VGA-In and Male RCA.

Something like this.
Pro opinion? Waste! Even the Supreme leader Nvidia Shield only ships with 3GB RAM. It's all about rock solid firmware on a good hardware combo.

No...wait...don't buy...

Your DVD out is yellow/composite-video out? Tell us about  that...

You wanna play DVD to your PC monitor right? And your monitor in is VGA only...

You will probably need an "AV to VGA converter", not just a cable...

can you show picture or link?

Like this...
http://www.lazada.com.my/av-rca-composite-...er-1191578.html

PS...there's no sound ya... You need to connect sound separately...
*
whats the difference this box with the cable?

QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 6 2017, 11:21 PM)
It appears you are unsure of the available ports.. Perhaps you should take pictures of your devices and post here, so folks know exactly what you are dealing with..
*
Just a normal DVD player with RCA output (supposed meant for output to TV) and i want to output to VGA monitor instead.
The devices are not with me now but anyway its just a normal player with a normal pc monitor smile.gif

In layman term, i want to use a DVD player connect to PC monitor instead of a real TV.

DVD players normally composite video out, nowadays rare for s-video & YPbPr. Her first link shows the cables she's thinking of...i ask to confirm if it's composite...normally yellow coded rca

But vga is a rgb component signal...very different to composite & YPrPb signal...so cable connection alone will not work...must  go through a converter box.

Only DVI-D, HDMI, Display port & Thunderbolt can interchange through wiring...

rclxub.gif rclxub.gif so complicated...
nvm wait i got time to go take pic of the device 1st

My answer a few post up...

How are you hooking up sound?
*
QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 7 2017, 12:03 AM)
A picture is worth a thousand words... Yeah, sound how? Cuz VGA is incapable of carrying audio signals.. The player should have a separate audio out port(s).
*
sound is passing to amplifier and out to speaker.
just need the video now on the monitor.

just recalled i have the same dvd player with me.
picture coming up

Hi Guys i have been using the MiniX Neo X8-H Plus 4K Ultra-HD  fro slightly more than a year now. It work perfectly with Kodi. Now in order to update to Kodi 17 (which requires Android 5.x.x ) i cannot do so. Is there anyone who know how to upgrade the firmware on the X8 (it does not do it automatically like my Samsung phone) or can it be done?
Thanks in advance.
Suren
