as long the sound setting in android tv box set to pcm or spdif.
if set to hdmi then only hdmi got sound. that's how my box works.
just get any S905 chipset tv box with 2GB ram and 16GB storage together with an air mouse with gyro capability will do and refer quote below:

It appears you are unsure of the available ports.. Perhaps you should take pictures of your devices and post here, so folks know exactly what you are dealing with..

DVD players normally composite video out, nowadays rare for s-video & YPbPr. Her first link shows the cables she's thinking of...i ask to confirm if it's composite...normally yellow coded rca

But vga is a rgb component signal...very different to composite & YPrPb signal...so cable connection alone will not work...must  go through a converter box.

Only DVI-D, HDMI, Display port & Thunderbolt can interchange through wiring...

A picture is worth a thousand words... Yeah, sound how? Cuz VGA is incapable of carrying audio signals.. The player should have a separate audio out port(s).

Hi Guys i have been using the MiniX Neo X8-H Plus 4K Ultra-HD  fro slightly more than a year now. It work perfectly with Kodi. Now in order to update to Kodi 17 (which requires Android 5.x.x ) i cannot do so. Is there anyone who know how to upgrade the firmware on the X8 (it does not do it automatically like my Samsung phone) or can it be done?
