A colleague sent this helpful attachment. Thought i wanna share with you guys/gals here smile.gif

It says for my weight, I need to drink 1.62 litres of water/day.

Now, my question - is this for plain water only , or can i include any liquid stuff like soup, fruit juices, milk, etc...

Very good info there. Hmm... I think soup and fruit juice counts in as water but I doubt milk is. Not too sure though. Just assuming.

Best is plain water. Try to avoid milk, coffee, tea, nescafe etc. I know of a man who drink lots of coffee and tea tarik everyday. Now he got diabetes and hypertension. Me : I only drink plain water everyday, at least 10 glasses. I very rarely drink milk, tea or coffee. IF I'm sick like sore throat or cough, I don't take medicine, just plain water will do, and few days time I'm OK again.

When I travel, I always bring my bottled water just to keep me hydrated all the time.

I've seen many ppl who drink only 1 or 2 glasses of plain water each day. Some are even worse. They hardly drink any plain water at all. Everyday...they only take milo, coffee, nescafe, tea tarik etc. This is commit suicide. Due time, because of the prolong constant dehydration. they will get fatal diseases like cancer, diabetes, hypertension etc etc.

When you get fatal diseases it means you have to suffer for many many years before you die.

The magic word here is REGULARLY. It is okay to drink coffee or milo etc once in a while but not regularly.

men in general should drink 10-12(or was it 12-14...) glasses of water per day, more if you exercise or work in an enviroment that causes you to sweat alot(or if you go to a spa).

Hmmm... It's best to avoid coffee. But researches has shown that it's ok to consume 5 cups max of coffee a day. So it's up to you whether to believe them or not. As for me, I'll choose not too cause I know coffee dehydrates the body (that's why you lost weight) and that caffeine is generally bad. One good thing is that you take 3 liters of water a day.

Water helps in muscle soreness recovery. Drink a lot of water during your workout session.

However, too much water may cause hyponatremia, where salt level is too low in our body. I heard in the news recently that several runners died caused of drinking excessive water.

Well, there have been cases of clubbers taking Ecstasy and dying of drinking too much water after that. Over 20 glasses if i'm not mistaken. Feel thirsty?

If you're talking about extremes, yeah. But not many people are that stupid to drink that much of water.
