QUOTE
MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system)is the brand name of a variable valve timing (VVT) engine technology developed by Mitsubishi Motors

QUOTE
MIVEC was first introduced in 1992 in their 4G92 powerplant, a 1,597 cc naturally aspirated DOHC 16 valve straight-4. At the time, the first generation of the system was named Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and lift Electronic Control.

see the different???
lift means the "OPEN" or "kick in" that u guys mention, our MIVEC same like Dual VVT-I only, wan open? swap 4J10 laugh.gif

i read that damn many times ady la, especially many months ago when k3 linked that to me as well and explained to me on the 4B1x MIVEC operation

there is still a kick regardless of the operation mode and is very evident on my dyno chart (refer to k3's previous explanation) as well as butt dyno feel.

i was also curious on the MIVEC timing advancement: if it's ALL GOOD, why couldn't it operate even earlier like 1.5k rpm? there is a reason why the stock MIVEC timing (for high speed/high rpm mode) have it triggered around 4.2k rpm right?
or the low speed high low modes that is probably what's giving off that enourmous torque/fun-factor.

Ur travel distance?

City driving.. doesnt happen after long distance driving...

Most of the time it happens if the car did not start for sometime ( 1-2 days or more).. feel like the engine out of breath or not enough fuel..

QUOTE(animegod @ Feb 17 2014, 10:07 AM)
cold am? my engine like not enuf breath like that when cold morning and i open a/c to 25c or lower. When stop at traffic, the engine feels like want to stop then catch up breath again. It's like asthma for the engine..
*
Something like that, but mine happen even without the air con on...but it becomes ok after a while...just the initial start up feeling is quite bad, the engine feel like going to kong....

it is as the video both of you guys linked, maybe i should rephrase the question:
why advance or retard the rotor timings at x rpm?

i think it's better if you 2 can slowly take the time to read my earlier questions and address them accordingly else it would be just a neverending roundabout misunderstanding sad.gif

or again if it's too much of a hassle to do it online i'm ok via offline too, better yet, direct explanation from the timings/mapping table with the stock/remapped mivec timing comparisons.
