idsi good response cuz the engine is ala diesel engine...max torque at 1750 rpm.
*
Huh city had diesel variant?

QUOTE(ckk125 @ Feb 10 2014, 09:37 AM)
all cvt has this rubber band effect, be it nissan/honda/toyota. it is just the way the transmission works.
*
You should try Subaru cvt, more specifically the Subaru legacy lol

He meant the city have diesel characteristic as the max torque comes at very early stage 1750rpm..

But YAB jaycraptor forte 1.6 4 speed also have 90% torque at 1500 rpm jo
*
I see, so in the end forte still better. No wonder Honda scrapped the iDSI, lost to Koreans, no face left.

any idea on how many degrees of temperature the brake pad able to withstand?

on the other hand, one of my friend warped his brake disc and believed its because of the stock brake pads.

mercury99 not much dust coming out from these stock pads compared to other vehicles.
*
No idea on the temperature, haven't Genting /track with inspira yet. However AFAIK akebono should be able to deal with minimum 300 to 400 Celsius no problem

Warped disc shouldn't be the pads problem as I don't believe the pads to be of hard compound (based on braking feel)
Hard compound pads would be something like the rapid bald pads sweat.gif

Lol maybe I'm too spoiled by the ebc on my iswara

just went to proton SC earlier, they got free nasi lemak and being cheapskate, must nom 2 packets laugh.gif
http://twitpic.com/dv0usq

http://twitpic.com/dv12t3 even spotted this eye catching r3 satria, r3 rims and exhaust (maybe body kit too? i can't tell) and AD08r on all 4 wheels.
most likely not customers' as i've been sitting there until noon and the car never moved while every customer come and go.

seriously curious on who's the kaki/owner lol!

anyways got the suspensions (just lower arm/cross member) loosened/re-tightened, and the guy said he did some bending/banging/knocking/tightening on the exhaust heat shields/mountings... so hoping for the best the sound issue is solved sweat.gif

haven't slept yet today... busy schedule... worked 12am till 5am (prior that was awake also, didn't sleep beforehand on sunday), go home rest/email/surf/anime > proton sc at 8am > 1pm go home do laundry >2 pm service sister's kancil > 4pm DIY fix kancil rear boot > 6pm fix gate squeaking sound (yes, despite being a f***ing new gate NMGH) > 8pm teach another sister how to drive with said kancil > 8:30pm fetch sister with kancil > since 10pm reading/catching up/spamming lyn...

Test is door closed?
Anyway, your engine got sound like this on IDLE?
*
yeah test door closed

and no definitely don't sound like that; yours sounded like some serious tappet (does our 4b10 require periodic maintenance/valve clearance adjustments?) issue lol...

maybe this weekend once i start to drive the car again i'll record for you la laugh.gif

my free samsung iem could reproduce a faint knocking sound on his vid.. while my vid there a sone belt sound tongue.gif
*
I was using my audio Technica AD900 before I left work so ya I'm quite confident on the audio clarity

The "knocking" sound is consistent and quite loud so it's more towards tappet noise

Engine ping /knocking while on idle would be damn faint and from experience would sound similar to electrical sparks and will be very inconsistent where it'll be more consistent /louder as you press the accelerator (the higher rpm the engine has an automatic ignition advance mechanism)

does not sounds like knocking to me ..
more like the EO does not suits the tappet..
its automatic clearance tappet .. like my 4G93 putra... damn 9 ma fan one..
*
If automatic does that mean you forever never need to adjust the clearance?

Assuming so, why is it mafan? Not damn good as you never need to adjust? Or you mean that the engine will be damn picky on engine oil?

I only changed engine oil once how would that make me experienced laugh.gif

That said, I personally stick with api sn resource conserving ilsac gf5 fully synthetic (group 4/5 base stocks) engine oils, or oil that have products within the company verified /certified as above and have msds/technical data sheets exceeding api sn specification. Said products are probably not certified due to failing emissions requirements.

Example would be my amsoil signature series xw20. all of amsoil products are api sn certified however their signature series have too much additives (twice the total base number of most api sn certified engine oil) which is required in their >20k miles (yes I'm not kidding) service interval guarantee. Obviously I'm not going to change my engine oil in like 30k km, the oil filter would long cease its functional capabilities and the additives would probably break down around 15 to 20k km and sludge may very likely form. But we all know when the Americans guarantee something (especially big companies such as amsoil) they aren't playing around else they risk losing a lot of money from lawsuits.
