Good first half performance by us. Faded a little in the 2nd half. And also could not find the killer 2nd goal. A bit disappointed. Should've kept Torres on.
Mancini was spot on with his subs, after the first half sub, Gala's defence became harder to penetrate. And also, referee gave home advantage to Gala kao kao. Melo playing like a mad cow but no booking. Schurrle, Terry kena booked. Gala's supporter whistled through out ALL of our possession. Disappointed with the referee. But then, it was partly our fault for not being able to finish the game off. Sorely miss Matic for this game. With the cup tied Matic and Salah, to be honest, I don't see us winning the UCL. And also, looking at our bench, we only had Ba, Eto and Oscar for our attacking option.
Schurrle sub out coz he has been late in his challenges, got a few time i thot he will get yellow card again. Sensible by Mou. But should've sub Oscar for Schurrle, instead of Mikel for Schurrle. That sub changes our mind set to a defensive one. |

Post match interview, Mou said Torres and Schurrle was sub coz both were exhausted. Both were not playing much recently.

First 25 minutes we own the game.... clearly we can break at any pace and any time... but the only downside is we took a step back after the goal... after the goal we didn't attack much... looks like we are satisfied with 1 goal... then Mancini makes a sub that will change the course of the game... the midfield is packed... no more easy fast break for our midfielders.... before that, Hazard, Schurlle and Willian can run at defenders... after the sub, the pack the midfield area... our players often seen one vs 2 or one vs 3... no more space to work....
Agree with some of you that instead of Mikel, Mou should sub Oscar... and the switch marking made Terry forgot who he should mark... which ultimately led to the equalizing goals... previously, Terry is responsible for marking Drogba... suddenly during one corner, Iva was marking Drog tightly, leaving JT to mark Iva's man... whom score for that corner... I hope this goal doesn't cost us the second leg... 1 point is an average result.... I think we can kill the game in the first 25 minutes... I dunno why the players didn't do it.... should have gone home with 2 or 3 goals advantage... instead we get only 1 away goal.... |

Not all is lost, hopefully the lads will perform better in the return fixture back at the Bridge.
The Galatasaray supporters really powderful, the whistling when we were in possession is deafening, not sure if it impact the morale of the team or not. We have been much worst condition before right (remember Napoli or Benfica?) so hopefully we're able to grind out the result in 2 weeks time, or is it 3 weeks time? At least we fare much better than the rest of the English sides.....but speaking of which, RM totally thrashed Schalke.....clear favourites now. |

As always penyakit lama failed to finish off the games.
Anyway hopefully to see schurrel and salah play next games. oscar, willian, hazard must rest they look tired. but not sure who will tak no10 role if trio get some rest. Lampard can?  Putting luiz and matic in dm position. |

Well, we can only said that Mancini is bold enough to admit his tactical decision was wrong. And also bold enough to make a tactical change in the first half.
From the start, it was always 3v2 or 4v2 when we do a fast break. Mancini must have noticed that and made a tactical change which kinda counter our fast break. With so little option (no Salah and Matic), we can't do much tactically. Anyway, 1-1 is a good result since we were playing in Istanbul. The fans were causing our players to go mental I would say. BISING KAO KAO! Time to look forward to the return leg. KTBFFH! |

its really irritating when the fans were whistling when we have the ball.. i think this puts a lot of pressure on the referee when making decision. thus, the sudden bursting out of yellow cards, especially when fouls are made on felipe melo. but when he commited the same level of foul, he didnt get any card. did anyone noticed that ? the referee and felipe melo, still a better love story than twilight.
putting that aside, i think Gala really deserved to equalize. they changed the tempo of the game since the beginning of the 2nd half and we were under pressure. but seeing how all other english teams are suffering in this competition, i guess i can make do with this result. after all, we still have 2nd leg in stamford bridge and im very positive we can come out on top. i'm hoping that during the second leg we will win at least 3-1 at the bridge (aggregate 4-2 in the end), with drogba scoring the consolation for Gala, didnt celebrate to show respect to the fans, and being subbed out so that he can receive a warm standing ovation from both the chelsea and gala fans. that, will be the best scenario  |
