I decided on confronting Hidayat yesterday. From here on out, this post will look a bit like a blogspot post, but bear with me, I need to write everything in clarity, both for the sake of security against being scammed, and to protect the privacy of Hidayat's family.

On Saturday, 15th February 2014, probably around 1.30pm-2.00pm, I arrived at Kota Tinggi. Beforehand, a certain LYN member, MattInvoker contacted me that he'd accompany me to Felda Bukit Aping Timur, seeing as he's from the area. MattInvoker had contacted me through PM before, and he's the one who supplied me info of Hidayat's being, which you can read in earlier posts. In a nutshell, MattInvoker and Hidayat was in the same group of gamers, both in real-life and Facebook, and had observed his behaviour since then, being that Hidayat was a terribly irresponsible vendor.

I accepted MattInvoker's offer and headed towards Felda Bukit Aping Timur in one taxi. It is this bit that surprised me; the uncle driving the taxi is, in fact, from the same neighbourhood too, and that the name Hidayat was familiar to him. MattInvoker and the uncle seem to be pretty close-knit, too. He noted that Hidayat is an eccentric boy, being that there were cases where Hidayat cheated money from people of the neighbourhood.

The three of us; me, MattInvoker and the taxi uncle arrived at Hidayat's house around 4.30pm. We were greeted by Hidayat's dad, Encik Rosli, who warmly welcomed the three of us. Being the bearer of bad news, I told Encik Rosli about Hidayat scamming three people (me, sobri_azami, and someone Hidayat scammed over a graphics card deal through Facebook) over the internet. His expression quickly changed from that of friendliness to stern.

With MattInvoker present, I presented the PS3 advert, this Dispute Resolution thread, transcript of my SMS conversation with Hidayat, proof of bank-in, and two police reports (me and sobri_azami's) to Encik Rosli. I had steeled myself for a burst of, "No! My son is a good boy, he'd never do something like this!" or "How can I be sure *you're* not scamming me?".

Instead, a flood of apologies and sorries came.

I assured him that it's not his fault; kids nowadays are far more capable than what we were used to; things like this can happen to anyone. Yet he kept apologizing.

After what seemed like an eternity of "it's okay, it's fine", we agreed to:

1. Surrender the possession of the PS3 and the accompanying accessories as stated in the advert to me.
2. Return RM500.00 to sobri_azami, which he would later post evidence of the bank-in here.
3. Return RM70.00 to the third guy, amount which Hidayat returned half and left the RM70 remainder unpaid, which he would later post evidence of the bank-in here.

Now, technically, the PS3 *should* belong to sobri_azami since he's the one who made the deal first, however, sobri_azami agreed to relinquish possession of the PS3 to me, as long as he gets his RM500.00 back.

And so I left Felda Bukit Aping Timur with the PS3, and assurance of money returned to their rightful owners. I walk away with what was owed; I did not demand more than what was due, nor do I settle for less.

If you've been reading so far, you might wonder; what about the Hidayat boy?

He's nowhere to be found. During the duration of me at Encik Rosli's house, Encik Rosli went out once, and he sent Hidayat's brother out to another part of the neighbourhood to find him. Still nothing. I decided there would be no meaning in meeting him anyway, and left.

Now, I have some reservations about this case. On one hand, Hidayat's a bloody cheater, no doubt about that. Not only he scammed money, he cut off all communications and chose to remain silent. Characteristic of a scammer.

On the other hand, everyone else has been extremely supportive of my case, especially Encik Rosli and MattInvoker. Perhaps it's the close knit relationship everyone have with everyone at Felda Bukit Aping Timur. MattInvoker even went as far as offering to stay at his house, which I had to reluctantly turn down so as to not trouble anyone any further.

Therefore, in the interest of preserving privacy and limiting exposure of Hidayat's family - in order to not associate Hidayat's actions, which was clearly his own, with his family, I have chosen to cancel my police report, and not make public of anymore personal details of Encik Rosli's household. I will share the necessary particulars with moderator Apis_LuaLua, victims sobri_azami and the graphics card guy, and MattInvoker, however I urge you guys to not make this case bigger than it already is.

Encik Rosli, if you're reading this thread, I am terribly sorry for being the bearer of bad news. I have no wish to disrupt your household or your relationship with your children, I'm just laying out the facts to you. If you would be open to my idea, please do not pay the money Hidayat cheated off us from your pocket; simply sell off his expensive belongings like his laptop or camera, and use the money to pay the people he scammed back.
