I'm impressed Shep, I gave up after breaking 1900 score, anyway my reference card was already at its limit in terms of how much further it could overclock. Still darned happy with what it could do.

That base/boost clock on G1 980 is pretty beast. Sure as hell won the silicon lottery.

Its just aftermarket cooler , my previous score was from a reference 980 and this one is G1 Gaming 980 which Gigabyte guarantee on its OC potential due to their "GPU Gauntlet Sorting" for all G1 cards, I even saw a review where this card can be pushed even higher(200++MHz) where I can only maxed out up to 180MHz core without any crashing etc.. but overall its a very nice card, but sadly even a single highly OC'ed 980 still not powerful enough for 4k gaming

Thanks, yeah agree with you. A reference 980 more than capable to satisfy our current gaming needs up to wqhd res+ultra setting+AA . Last time I ran heaven with 344.75 whql driver and scored much lower than this(same clock), but now with latest 347.25 driver seems like Heaven score increased quite significantly..maybe you can try it also

Yeah you should've do a Tri-SLI benchmark while you still have your reference GTX980.

Hey guys if i want to pick up a gtx980 which brand would u guys recommend?

Well it depends on you actually, what's your budget, what's your color theme, do you overclock? etc etc.
Personally I've tried ASUS GTX980 striX, I must say it's pretty quiet.. the designs are okay and the temps were kinda high on idle due to the fans shut itself off till a certain temperature.

mild oc. no voltage or vbios thing. just maybe do power limit. no color preference. price doesnt really matter much if it comes with performance. currently looking at either MSI or HoF. but someone pointed out some HoF owner not happy with it.

Pretty nice score you got there, apparently you've beat -cmi- scores by 58 points

Welcome back! Yeah, lots have changed after the 9xx series were out.
Now the GTX970 can score almost equivalent to R9 290X, we're out-dated as it seems.

You are right, Yagami.

Don't know how shall we express our feeling. Feeling excited on the new great improvement products or sad on our out-dated products?

Anyway back to the topic, I think I will have upload a downgraded score in future , if GTX960 4GB version released. Can't afford anything higher nowadays.
