1 hours + is a bit too fast ad.. something wrong with your MSI GE60.. if I'm not mistaken you're using MSI right ?
Maybe your screen brightness is maxed ? brightness eat a lot battery  sweat.gif
*
I should say 1hr and 50 min. Mid brightness and wifi off. Just play movie only. Hwmonitor says batt at 4% wear. And i use the batt often and its max capacity is 48 mwh. Msi never use large capacity for their ge series.

Tumpang tered to ask if anyone knows about MSI GE62 2QE/2QF that are launched in Malaysia during the MSI event recently?
I've asked retailers and they are sure the GTX 965M version will be here by end of Jan but can anyone shed light on the GTX 970M (2QF) version.

GE62 Launching Tech-critter somehow had info on the four models. Anyone knows about this? Apparently 2QF comes with 4k IPS screen  ohmy.gif

Currently have a GE60 with GTX 765M and thinking of getting one for my bro. Thanks in advance.
*
If u have a ge60 2013 then it would be a significant upgrade if u get the ge62. It has fhd ips screen or 4k ips option. But the 965m will be over taxed by the 4k resolution. Recommended to take the fhd.

Avoid ge72 cuz they using tn display. Eww. Lol.

Oh.. I didn't know that.. But almost 2 hours is okay ad lar.. Lucky my Z5 is 6 cells.. can last me 3-5 hours with wifi on and mid brightness  sweat.gif
But your screen is better.. LG IPS.. not AHVA thumbup.gif

Lol bro my batt suitable for i5 laptops and without dgpu. Doesnt make sense to put such a low capacity batt on an i7 device -.-

Ge60 uses samsung pls display haha.

erm, i saw some hp model in overseas has started use the broadwell processor...(u-series), anyone know broadwell will came into malaysia before April bo? is it acer v nitro really best buck? it palm rest part material i really dun like it, cause that kind i think will become sticky after few year,i got my personal experience with my handphone and razer mouse which are using similiar material. any comment about g551jm?
*
Its best if you go see and touch the display units. As far as i can say laptops with matte steel casings have tendency to have sweaty or oily palms mark on it. If that is what you mean.

Broadwell is low powered, low heat, low tdp cpus. IMO npt good for gaming laptop and it might bottleneck ur gpu. If u want wait till i7 broadwell.

Yeah but since MSI updated their chassis with the new GE62/GE72 models, I hope heating will be much improved. Fingers crossed tho. Hope the new dual fans really work.

Nevertheless, I do agree that my old GE60 with GTX 765M, upon havy load i.e. gaming, it literally becomes a frying pan, especially near the vents & touchpad. There are heating problems on almost all of MSI laptops I've seen so far i.e. GE,GS series except the GT ones due to their big chassis. One thing that I can't deny: MSI's designs are irresistibly cool though.
*
Myself using a GE60 860m. And despite a better gpu but still a frying pan. Lol. At least my cpu/gpu heat avg 90celcius is way better most people at 92-95. Lucky me lol.

Yes MSI does know how to make a cool gaming notebook. ROG imho is too mainstream smile.gif You know that when you bring your MSI into a crowd of Asus/acer/lenovo and u are the only one with an msi. With full rgb KB xD.

But like what miong said, gaming desktop is also my next stop xD

Edit: for those who is interested with ge62 line, please go and test it first or wait for some in depth review. And i heard that they are also introducing ge60 line with 960m/950m. No point when it still make fried chicken after few hours gaming lol.

Yea.. wait for review first before purchasing new laptop model.. except you're damn rich lo..
And MSI is too mainstream also.. a lot ppl know of this brand ad.. and mostly it's very exp.. user first impression of MSI  doh.gif
I'm the only one who's using ILLEGEAR in my Uni.
When I bring my laptop to schl, everyone is staring at me.. that feel.... is a bit... annoying ? lol (just let me use the damn laptop without staring at me  sweat.gif )

P/S: Asus ROG mainstream meh ? I seldom see ppl use G7551J.. there's one guy in my uni using it, I can't stop my eye from keep staring at it.. lol
*
Ooo? Perhaps in Penang its different. Here ppl use g750, new g551, some old rog laptops (with 670m), some y50s, and 2 guys with v15. Thats my bunch of friends lol.

Just want to ask. Without considering SSD first. A 7200rpm and 5400rpm HDD. How big difference?
*
Uhm, to put it to perspective, its like your Vios vs Camry at highway. Have subtle difference. But not as much as ssd vs hdd. That would be like comparing vios to a r35 skyline.

Haha sorry for such comparison but well u get what i mean tongue.gif

Is there such thing? I thought wifi cards are the same in the same unit model across all market, and only differentiated with the hdd/ssd or brand of the ram?

Laptops with 965m gpu will suffice. Plus point also would be that most laptops with 965m (1024 cores)will be under thin and light category, and also affordable. And i heard 960m (640 cores, same as 860m) will also be coming out, and would be at same price range as laptops with 860m.

I can say 860m/960m is ur minimum range if u want games playable at medium-high 1080p settings. And maybe some AA on smile.gif

Any idea will more 965m or 960m available before April?
*
MSI GE62/72 965m is already out, just havent reach Malaysia yet. Prices estimated about 4.5-4.7k depending on specs. 960m dunno yet. But it is spotted in the recent nvidia drivers already. IMO nvidia have the tendency to release drivers ahead of a gpu release.

hey guys, do you update the nvidia drivers using geforce app?
*
IMO update your drivers if only the update helps you in optimizing the game(s) that you are playing. I.e, driver that you have are released before your new game. Normally its fine to update to the latest ones.

Should I get a cooling pad for my laptop cause my friend is getting one for his y410p reaching 90 during games so I could buy it together? I usually play games for a long time in a day under air-cond, I can feel it's hot at the keypad area but I use realtemp apps it says max around 80+. Heard that cool master notepal x3 is good. Any comments?

Using any cooling pad is recommended if u want to make your laptop cooler. It should help to reduce temps by 5-6 degrees...

I got these price from dealer name versace in garage sales.

G551JM-DM053H (RM 3,850)
VN7-591G-73A2 (RM 3,280)
Y5070-8437 (RM 3,750)
ILLEGEAR Z5 RM3799

aside the specs, which one is better in batter life and nice cooling system?

I search previous page, acer is really bad in battery. only 3 cell? and Msi having heat problem?

Need you guys opinion. Thank you so much in advance.
*
MSI GE60 Apache Pro user here. On idle or light usage the heat is from 42-47 degrees. On light to medium games heats are on acceptable range 72-76 degrees. Things change to worse when playing games like crysis 3 or CODAW heat is around 90+. Temps around WASD reaches 45-48 degrees.

My y400 CPU temp reach 98'c and GPU reach 96'c while playing battlefield hardline  rclxub.gif

what should I do? will it fried my laptop if always play like this ?
*
When ur laptop reaches such extreme heat levels normally i suggest lowering ur settings. You wont suffer a meltdown cuz modern laptops will just trottle ur device to avoid that.
