I have a Ford Focus 2014 of 1.5 years. The car still drives well except the occasional dashboard rattling noise. There is also noticeable dashboard vibration during traffic stops. I'm sending the car for a complete clutch + oil seal change next week due to engine oil leak. This is under warranty. Any users here having gone through the same procedure? I would like to have a feedback. Much appreciated and thank you.

If my memory serves me right. Around rm400-500 if just one key. If both you need to reprogram the car's security system. That's more expensive I think

QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Mar 9 2015, 12:44 PM) Just sold my Ford Focus last week. The resale value is fuck. Good bye Ford. Why did you sell it? Which year and how much?

The noise is probably from your faulty gearbox/clutch. My car was like that before the service. It rattles at traffic stops too. After the change, it fixes all problems including the low speed grinding sound. I wonder how long will it stay that way before it happens again. Now my power sunroof is jerky the moment it is opening. I think the rubber seals have expanded somehow and misaligned.

I didn't complain much before they decided to schedule 4-day service at the workshop. The other owner who had his car done on the same day was telling me the test "threshold" you need to meet for it to be considered faulty. I have no idea as I didn't do any test.

QUOTE(eddiezack @ Apr 17 2015, 05:08 PM) My battery was changed during my second service. Is that too soon? Mine on the 4th service/40000km. Somehow the battery doesn't seem to last long

How would not locking the doors when parked affect battery life of the car? I left the car at the workshop for the 3-day clutch change servicing. When it was ready the foreman told me that they changed the battery as well. It's not a fixed interval must change item

QUOTE(Dwango @ Apr 18 2015, 10:39 PM) If you didn't lock the car, some of the electronics may be using the battery power. When the engine is already switched off, the display still have the lights on. When the car is locked, the lights on the display are all off. May I ask what prompted the clutch change? The low speed jerk and grinding noise. Though not as bad as others who experienced it. The service center offered to do it without much persuasion. Refer to my previous posts.

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Nov 22 2015, 08:19 PM) An update on the new tyres that I have replaced last Sunday (Yokohama Bluearth AE50). Previously on stock Goodyear Assurance Fuelmax tyres. 205/60 R16 tyres. Perhaps the Yokohama tyres are still new. Comfort and quietness of the AE50 felt better than the Goodyears. However, in terms of stability, the AE50s seem to be slightly inferior than the Goodyears, maybe due to the softer rubber of the Yokohamas. In the corners or bends(at higher speeds), the stability and control are slightly inferior than the Goodyears as it shows slightly more wobble. However, it is not exactly a criticism. Just an observation when in comparison to Goodyear tyres. In normal to moderate driving, no issues in stability and performance. For those who are more into enthusiastic or spirited drives, it may be a better idea to avoid the Yokohamas. However, if you want comfort, quietness and good grip in the wet at a rather affordable price of below RM300 for each tyre (the tyres are tested to have superior braking on wet roads when compared to other competitors), you may consider the Yokohama Bluearth AE50s. Thanks for the review. My 70k mileage car is due for a tire change too. It's still with the stock Goodyear tires. I'm looking for cabin quietness above all. Are the Bluearth tires quiet or do you think the Primacy st3 would be better choice?

I drive fairly fast. I switched my front tyres to the back a year ago and now the front needs to be replaced. Thanks for your input. Will keep the Yokohama tires an option

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Nov 13 2016, 09:55 AM) Pertaining to the purchase of car battery outside that will cause the warranty of the TCM to be void, I have made an inquiry to the Customer Service and they informed that it is indeed true that owners need to change the battery at the service centre to have the 10-year warranty on the TCM intact. However, I think it may be a grey area as a service adviser at the PJ service centre mentioned that the warranty will still be valid provided the battery spec is on par or better than the original Ford Focus battery (CCA). However, after I interrogated him further if what he said is really true, he changed his mind and said it is better that owners change the battery at the service centre to avoid any problems with the warranty claim on the TCM as there are cases whereby some owners have used a lower spec battery and got into problems with the warranty claim. Now, the question is this. Have any owners who have changed to another battery outside of the service centre (non-original Ford battery) but with similar or higher spec experienced any issues with the electronics? The service adviser mentioned that the settings of the electronics will go haywire when the battery is replaced, and the electronics will need to be reset every time the car gets a new battery. Any owners here who have changed the battery outside of the service centre would care to comment? The battery at the service centre was said to cost about RM890. Outside is about RM300 which is less than 3 times the price. Yes. I have just replaced my battery when I couldn't start my car one morning. My battery is RM300. Can't remember the brand though ; there's not much choice anyway given the specific dimensions of the battery. My focus is 4yr old , 100k mileage. I am also concerned of possibly voiding the TCM/warranty by doing so
