QUOTE(kaiyikJr @ Apr 26 2014, 10:56 PM) Hi guys, I just received my ford focus S+ candy red today. Just to check those with 2014 model, how many USB port you guys have? Those with 2013 model should have 2 USB port - one inside the glove compartment and the other inside the arm rest right? But mine only 1 - inside the arm rest and there none at the glove compartment. Is it because 2014 model only have 1 USB port??? I already told my SA about this and he say he will come back to me tomorrow .. zzz Another thing is my SA told me to before how to check the your car manufacture year by looking at the tag at your seat belt - if your is manufacture in 2013 it will show year 2013... but today when i checked with him, the year is Oct 2013 instead of 2014!! When I told him this, he have no idea and ask me to complain to Sime Darby... However under my car card and Puspakom cert, it wrote Car made in 2014... Anyone know how to check the car manufacture date from the car itself instead looking at the seat belt tag?? Go to Ford ETISUnder "vehicle" enter your car VIN or Chassis no u will get all the detail info abt your car, where, when it was built, what are included in your car and lots other info abt your car... If it is not the same, print it out & show your SA Good luck This post has been edited by klaatu08: Apr 26 2014, 11:38 PM

QUOTE(kaiyikJr @ Apr 27 2014, 12:43 PM) Thanks for the info.. my car really manufacture in 30 Oct 2013 but under my Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia it says Tahun Dibuat: 2014... zzzz Gonna complain to Sime darby already... Just to clarify with you guys.. FoFo only got 1 USB port right? Those 2013 model should be inside the glove compartment while mine is inside the arm rest. U are welcome. My view is, it's not a big issue so long the Registration card is stated as 2014 mfg year, becoz that is what everybody are referring to for the mfg year, unless the different is big, say few years but I don't think that will happen anyway. Just my 2hp Now the main thing is u didn't get a lemon & after sales service is good & u enjoy your ride every time u step on the accelerator.

QUOTE(pin86 @ Jun 21 2014, 09:30 PM) I wanto ask u all about the immobilizer. How does it work? I tried remove the key from the car when it is running and managed to drive for few houses and nothing happened. Shouldn't the car stop without the key in the car? After u start the engine u can drive as far as u want even without the key fob inside the car ( u will hear the alert sound & message show on the HMI screen) so long u don't off your engine, once off without the key fob u will not babe able to start again.

QUOTE(lowkl @ Jun 23 2014, 03:31 PM) Exactly right. It would be terrifying if the engine just cuts off if the car no longer detects the key fob; eg. when the key fob battery runs out while you are doing 160km/h. as I know the HMI screen will alert u with message if the key fob batt running low... Better change the batt ASAP once u get the message

QUOTE(ryder_78 @ Sep 23 2014, 11:13 PM) I was hoping one day that the Focus ST will come in Automatic transmission(don't mind if it's Powershift) and in a sedan form. But at RM200k it is still too costly. ryder, your hope sort of materialized liao.... u can get a Ford 2.0 Ecoboost + Powershift in a sedan form...... it come with 240hp & 340Nm......just that the size is bigger then Focus but it is much much spacious.....

QUOTE(ryder_78 @ Sep 24 2014, 10:52 PM) Apart from the price, I do think the Focus being a smaller C-segment vehicle will have better handling around the corners for those who like a more spirited drive. Though the Mondeo is certainly not lacking when it comes to straight-line acceleration(if I'm not mistaken the 0-100km/h acceleration of the Mondeo is better than the Focus). The Mondeo would be perfect for those who like a bit more space and a more refined interior (more classy leather and dashboard trimmings etc.). Mondeo's handling is not too bad, but if it wear a 235/40/18 shoe + Bilstein B8 Sprint u will be surprise it handling around the corners...well now u can get the current Mondeo with at least 15K discount as I remember I saw it on newspaper recently.... of course if u don't mind getting the current version la..... but if u want the latest which is the Fusion...then it is close to 200K liao...shd be coming in next year, I guess.

QUOTE(ryder_78 @ Sep 25 2014, 10:19 AM) Yes, I'm not surprised as well. The Mondeo has a more powerful acceleration than the Focus. I had a chance to meet a Mondeo owner once and he mentioned during hard acceleration his body is being pushed to the seat, and he is amazed at the power of the Ecoboost engine. In contrast, he said the Focus felt "tame" when compared to the power of the Mondeo. Guess the 0-100km/h figures do show that the Mondeo is a more powerful car. If it is capable of achieving sub 7.0s in 0-100km/h, then it can be considered as a powerful car already. but it is not fair to compare Focus with Mondeo, NA and TC is totally different feel especially the pickup and low end torque. I bring this topic up is becoz of your hope to see the sedan form of Focust ST in MY But, one thing in common for Ford - the driving dynamics is pretty good.

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 26 2014, 07:42 AM) I noticed that the Mondeo is not being sold in Thailand, which is weird. Does anybody know what transmission will the new Mondeo be getting? In a review, it was said that the new Mondeo will be getting the "Ford's latest PowerShift automatic gearbox", though I'm not sure if it is the same 6-gear Powershift that is currently in the Mondeo. Does the current Mondeo exhibit the same jerks and grinding sound as the Ford Focus since it is on the same Powershift gearbox as well? the new Fusion no longer with PowerShift, the EcoBoost engine pair with 6-Spd Automatic SelectShift with paddle shifters. Yes, both Focus & Mondeo are on PowerShift, but one is dry another one is wet DCT, hence the heat dissipation is much better, so far overheat issue does not happen even in happy traffic jam, not sure the wet type will help to miminize the jerks & grinding sound, but so far the low speed jerks & grinding sound are very minimum I would say.

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 26 2014, 08:14 AM) Thanks for the response. Have you driven the current Mondeo before? Good to hear that even though the current Mondeo is in Powershift(wet), there are very minimal jerks and grinding sound when compared to the Focus. So the new Mondeo will not come with the dual-clutch Powershift but a conventional 6 speed Automatic Selectshift with paddle shifter? Sounds good. Not too sure about the performance of this new gearbox though. If the gear shifting is smooth, quiet and seamless, it should be a winner with the sexy good looks. It is only the price that is the factor now, considering it is about RM25k costlier than most high-spec D-segments from the Japanese equivalents. Though there is no denying the higher levels of technology, quality, class and refinement in the Mondeo when compared to the Accord and Camrys. Hopefully the paddle shifter won't MIA when it reach our shore I think we better don't hijack this thread too much talking abt Mondeo since this thread is dedicated for Focus owners. I follow this thread in LYN becoz too bad that no dedicated Mondeo thread at LYN, due to it is a super cold car, i guess. The Mondeo owner thread at Autoworld is so damn cold & quiet, end up I am here lor and yes I have a Mondeo, the GTDi 240 variant. This post has been edited by klaatu08: Sep 26 2014, 10:37 AM

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 26 2014, 01:07 PM) Apologies on hijacking this thread a bit. Didn't know you are a Mondeo owner. Not too sure about the GTDi 240 variant. Is it the current model? Do you find it a quiet car in the suspension noises? Although the Focus is fairly quiet, the sound from the suspension when going over bad surfaced roads is quite loud, all the thuds and knocks. Also, some minor rattling sound from the dashboard when going over bad roads. I hope the Mondeo is quieter than the Focus in all areas with superior NVH. The Mondeo may be super cold, but I do see some Mondeos around although rare. And yes, Autoworld forum has gone very quiet since few years ago. for me, so far so good, no weird sound from the suspension on bad surfaced road...I never sit in Focus before not sure how is it compare to Mondeo in terms of NVH.
