Actually I read this article by this doctor who studied sleep for over 10 years. He said just like food, not every human being requires the same amount of sleep. So the notion of getting your 8 hours a night isn't a "1 size fits all" solution . Some people can get by with 4, and others might need 10 (or more) hours per night.
He also said that's the reason why some people sleep entire weekends away. It's their body telling them to catch up on all those missed hours during the week.
Also, our body regenerates at superhuman rates while we're in deep sleep. This is why eventhough we sometimes nap, we can still feel tired when we wake up from it.
Please don't post rubbish. You can eat stones and you won't suffer organ failure. Our digestive system is highly complex and incredibly efficient. Just because you eat quickly, it doesn't mean you'll keel over.
P.S: Please don't eat stones.
true... but they said most of the people will need 6 and half hours sleep after you have consistent sleeping time for a long period of time. 6 and half hours is just about you going to have dream which dream is no use for us, all we need is 5th stage of sleep (deep sleep), there are 2 or 3 of deep sleep in our sleep (i cant really remember) Because our sleep is like a graph, up and down for few times. Power nap usually will make a big different, but you cannot make it more than 45 minutes!!! 15 to 45 minutes for a power nap is good enough for a normal person take at evening time.He also said that's the reason why some people sleep entire weekends away.
