*
from what I checked in the web, that's either ur port forwarding not right or ur firewall rules settings got problem...

isn't that is for all the initiation all "local" ??
im all "remote" wor~~

is it same???
*
if both port forward and firewall rules u have set ok, should hav a mix of remote and local, then only we can get gain of speed as we will have both side instead of just 1 side of local/remote...

QUOTE(super macgyver @ Oct 10 2006, 05:14 PM)
just reconnect to 218, then tweak the bitcomet setting.
*
hmm... my place here (s'wak) never seems to have a chance to connect to 218... always getting 6x. but luckily the speed still ok, max can reach 60K (for 512k) although not that much steady lately...

this is my dl speed so far, around 40-47K with 2 files, each less than 5 seeds but around 25-40+ leeches (I limit it to 48K max dl as for convenient surfing - my line is 512k)

QUOTE(Hornet @ Oct 11 2006, 08:21 PM)
No, actually in the preference there it is disable for option "use DHT for backup tracker" or something like tht

But if u see at the BC window bottom, they got show DHT connected to how many nodes rite. Its those nodes I want to disable. meaning, make it dont connect to any DHT nodes at all..... and ya, somehow even when i didnt use DHT, those nodes still connect, which causes dc to my line.. so wondering if there's any way to force it dont connect to DHT at all...

thanks again biggrin.gif
*
if u r using BitComet 0.70, there are another 2 ways of disabling DHT:

1. Preferences... Advanced... Connection... (Uncheck the box infront of) "Enable DHT Network"
user posted image

2. Right click on the task/torrent (when it's in stop/paused state) then click on Properties... Advanced... (Uncheck the box infront of) "Enable Public DHT Network"
user posted image

try check those 2 settings then see how smile.gif

As some old model routers can't handle too many simultaneous connections, which may lead to connection blocked (totally no connections allowed thru until some of them d/c out of too long idle time)... that's what happened to me last time when I was using DLink DSL-500G >.<

I have read the file, it's just another personal bitcomet settings experience (still need adjustment to fit our own need), but worth a read, at least more experience sharing smile.gif

juz now use v0.74 try to download something
i can connect to many peers (including local peers)
but strange that, the download didnt start!!!
it juz like i hv connect to them, but didnt receive anything from them
even there no no. show in DL/UL...
when check in "Summury" i.......
receive 0kbps from 0 peers
upload 0 kbps to 0 peers...

when look at this situation, with no doubt, i change it back to older version...

dunno why, it can connect to peers
but get nothing!!!

downgrade back to 0.63, can connect to many local and get high download speed!! thumbup.gif
but that v0.74... shakehead.gif
*
That's y for now I only check with BC forum 1st on ppl's comment on the new release... still using 0.70 for me and the speed is back to normal with steady 50K+ rclxms.gif

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Oct 23 2006, 07:18 PM)
is there any settings that i have to change in bitcomet if i install a software firewall like Comodo?
*
nope, there is no setting at BC then u need to change (in fact all settings in BC doesn't have anything to do with watever firewall u using, it's mainly about connections and tasks). But u need to set allow in Comodo for BC.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Oct 23 2006, 08:04 PM)
set allow? you mean at windows firewall?
*
for windows firewall, u need to add BC to the exception.

Thanks guys for the suggestion. Will try it out.

The global download rate, I remain it as no limit?

Update: I have a 1Mbit connection. Applied the settings, and surfing lowyat always gives me timeouts if bitcomet is running.
*
other that limit ur upload rate, what is the tcp simultaneous connection u set?? in connection... advance... section of bitcomet, try not to set too high (30% of the total number u set when u applied the tcp patch should b enough already)

another thing u can try is set ur bitcomet to lower cpu priority (it's "normal" for normal, try set it to "below normal" or "low", u can set this at task manager (ctrl+alt+del))

Anyone pls help me out with this matter...whenever i run my bitcomet...my cpu usage will hit 100%..even my download isnt running...it still hit 100%. Thanks  sad.gif
*
any other program that will cause it also? or just whenever u run bitcomet?

as shown in the snapshot, ur BC didnt take tat resource? blink.gif

EDIT*

I'm testing with BC 0.75, having this prob:
file cant finish dl, even when it says to b finished but after hash check, it's actually still at 99.7%?? It's a bug or I should disable the "hash check again"??

i also experience this before
after downloaded a video and trying to play it
the video is incomplete...
then i hash check again, it is juz 96.1%

at that time, i think it is becoz im not enable the 'hash check again' option
then i go to enable it
not didnt got that kind of problem...
anyway, who used the 'Chat' function??
in 0.63, i still can chat with other people
but they juz didnt reply me
0.70 didnt found any people that can chat
but 0.75 didnt have the chat function!!!
*
may b it's bcos many ppl complaining about the chat function taking too much resources so they might as well remove it tongue.gif

I have installed back 0.70... dont really like the feeling of 0.75, lack of a few features from 0.70, such as backup tracker, upload slots, etc

QUOTE(Niuminoid @ Nov 1 2006, 03:24 PM)
Im sure not any other program causes it...after i stop runnin bitcomet and CPU usage will be back to normal.
*
which version of BC u r using?
