i am using bit comet the newest version (0.84) i move my download task into recycle bin but i cseem cannot find it... where should i search for it because i wan to put it back into my dl task.. and it seems unable to open the torrent as it say "task already exits"
*
you really found nothing under the 'recycle bin' in BitComet??
try open the 'Downloads.xml' file under your BitComet folder
then see is it in there, and see is the "InRecycleBin" is 'true'
if it is 'true', then you should found it under the 'recycle bin'
QUOTE(moonmemory @ Feb 25 2007, 03:59 PM)
after i port forward my bitcomet i realize my connection become very unstable. my dl apeed reach till around 50kb/s then after a while will suddenly drop back to 0kb/s and i cant surf any website during that period and it happend around every 5min. at the first time i thought is the streamyx problem but someone tell me maybe is the router or modem cannot cope with my Bitcomet. is it true? can i fix this problem?

BTW, i using 1mb package but the top dl speed i can get just around 40~50k izit normal or what should i do to improve it?
*
it usually like what your fren tell...
try the way in 1st post first...
if still cant solve your problem, then you are not suitable to BitTorrenting... or maybe need to change a newer modem/router biggrin.gif

May I ask, how to set the yellow line to green line to past the traffic.
Lately BitComet pretty slow , I don't know that TMNet started their throttle or not.
*
why all of the 'initiation' is 'local' or 'NAT traversal'??
it mean your BitComet had been block either by router or firewall or both...

you have change the router recently??
or you havent do portforward??
or havent allow the connection of BitComet in your firewall??

you can leave it, especially if you connect using bridging mode

Tan Pang ..
To revived the actual connection speed did I really need to change my routher?
And BitComet 0.84 mostly detect peer come from BitComet 0.82,0.84 and uTorrent 1.6.0,1.6.1. and seldom from other.
*
the info i found in http://www.p2pforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=134879#134879

i assume that you can configure your router
QUOTE
If you're behind a network that you're able to configure for BitComet, you should see none or very few NAT Traversal connections. If you're seeing a large amount of NAT Traversal connections or only Local and NAT Traveral connections (no Remotes), something may be blocking your TCP traffic, so see steps 1 & 2 here. BitComet may also be incorrectly detecting your need for NAT Traversal, so ensure the following option is Disabled:

Options > Preferences > Advanced > Connection > "Use NAT Traversal via UDP" [DISABLE]
now try to disable the NAT traversal via UDP option first...
and the 'step 1 & 2' mention at there is 'portforward' and 'allow BitComet connection in firewall'...

if these 3 step really cant help
then try it on your fren router first

*
woh~ you can portforward office router??
how to do that?? i tot the router should in the adminstrator id and password, and usually it is not the default username and password

you mean cant find the preview and comment tab??

under peers -> initiation.... wats da different between NAT transverse, remote n local... which 1 will give da highest download...

coz im getting higher download rate from remote peers...
*
i cant give you the answer
sometimes Local will give highest download, sometimes Remote, but sometimes NAT traversal!!
coz the initiation in not used to show who will upload to you most
QUOTE(NewbieBetta @ Feb 28 2007, 11:33 AM)
anyway can I view my half downloaded movie? No more seed,so the movie stuck at 80%..can i view the movie..?

QUOTE(jayhan @ Feb 28 2007, 02:12 PM)

QUOTE(Bo Cheng Kor @ Feb 28 2007, 04:46 PM)
what does the 'health' column represent in bitcomet?
*
it is something like 'availability' in µTorrent
it show how many percentage of the piece you can get from the peer you connected
if the health is less than 100%, then it mean none of the peer that you connect have the full copy of the file
but if over 100%, eg. 5000%, it mean there have 50 full copy of the file from the peer you connected

thats why sometimes even you didnt connected to any seed (or aledi out of seed)
as long as the 'health' show the value more than 100%, you still can get the file completely

oh..thanks for all the given info. it seem like my port forwarding is not successful. anyone have any idea? I follow all the instruction at port forward.com and I already turn my windows firewall off.
*
manually set mean do the portforward that have been post in http://portforward.com/
else, the automatic set will be use the UPnP in the BitComet Preferences

and modem didnt need to do portforward
QUOTE(wengjoe @ Mar 2 2007, 09:24 AM)
just tried BitComet 0.84 today

notice the initiation collum there showing remote,NAT Traversal and local as well,3 huh ?

is this normal or what ? i though should be only remote and local ?

something sound fishy here
*
if show too many NAT traversal
then it will be abnormal

last time WingKalimdor also ask the same question
please refer back to 2 page previously or pm him
i think he is master to solve this problem aledi!! biggrin.gif

ohhhh. I already did all the port forwarding with my DLink router. but my bitcomet still showing me the yellow light. what should I do next??
*
firewall??? hmm.gif
QUOTE(wengjoe @ Mar 2 2007, 08:33 PM)
erm..so far only see like 2 to 3 NAT Traversal appear on my initiation

the rest all either remote or local, but remote seem to be more =P
*
try to disable the NAT traversal via UDP option
see will there any NAT traversal initiation??

but before that, if your speed is not affected
then didnt need to change any setting

I did turn my windows firewall off and I didn't install any others firewall software. only "Local" appear on my initiation column, cant see any "Remote". why?
*
if didnt see remote
then it mean your BitComet had been blocked

since that you aledi turn off firewall
then it maybe is the portforward problem...
you really aledi follow the instruction in here??
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers...4+/BitComet.htm
QUOTE(wengjoe @ Mar 2 2007, 08:48 PM)
i was downloading some series movie on BitComet 0.82

the speed was stuck around 30k below, sometime even stay around 15k

but when i change to BitComet 0.84,boom straight shoot up to 53k
*
walauye!! shocking.gif
you didnt change any settings??
juz simply change version aledi can boost speed??
still have NAT traversal??

hoah...
I tried to use the .79... previously used the .70
and now reverting back to .70 since:
takes less RAM, and I think i prefer the simplicity of it...
smile.gif
*
if you want the BitComet that use less RAM
then try the version after v0.80 (v0.81 - latest) which have the "auto-recycle memory" function

last time i said that BitComet got problem when auto-start task at startup
and i also suggest someone go to report it on BitComet official website
but i think they will ignore it becoz they think you are spamming... sweat.gif

the problem solved if you close the BitComet properly before shut down the windows
but in BitComet v0.70, the task still will auto-start even we shut down the windows without close BitComet (correct me if im wrong, since that i didnt use v0.70 long time ago)

if it restart/reset automatically
or you shut down/restart the pc without close it

but then iianm the versions after .80 is not as 'good' as .70 rite? as in:

- download speed
- stability
- especially the changes in context menu

the context menu @ .79 itself is a bit more complicated than .70 imo..
.70 seems easier to use...
smile.gif
*
about the download speed, it is largely due to peer
same as BitComet v0.70, no different

the stability is aledi ok, i didnt have any crash on the latest version??

the changes in context menu...
i think there is no much changes on the latest version

for me, the later version is better than v0.70
especially the version on v0.79 and above
