8455 is consider on par with HX-D2 and better than P1Y IMHO

is 8455 a pure deck? pure copper deck?

P1Y comes wif a "sound processor" and D2 comes along wif the "power stabliser/regulator" (o something like tat lar)

as for me.. eclipse 8455 is somewhere around alpine 7998r

the P1Y is just a DSP... many mid-range HU also has it

while the HX-D2 , u mean the DC-DC converter?

8455 is not a pure deck, it has got 3 way active x-o, EQ, TA, DSP, 8v output, copper body
just not to forget.... top of the range for eclipse at 2005...how bad u expect it to be ?

i've sold 5 of my used HUs
the reason i sell is " Why I need so many HUs while i dun have so many cars"
so now i left 3 only

The P1-Y is purely show, IMO it's not much of a compare towards the others u mentioned. Notably, the others have a more advanced crossover with the ability to run active.

The 8650 can still be had if you find the right places, i think can still get it for about RM1500 nowadays, else, you'll have to settle for the P80RS for about the same features.

i think between P1Y and eclipse 8455 i would go for 8455... because it has more USEFUL functions than the P1Y... P1Y to me is jus for show... not really a good player considering the price offered... if you insisted on getting a pioneer... then P80RS, 9650 and 8650 is very recommended... i used 9650 last time and i would say it is a good HU... but too bad it was stolen...

Don't think P80RS has an optical connection, it's nothing like the P9/P90 though More like a freshened up 8650MP, wif more crossover points, a seperate left and right EQ(very professional, almost like those high end processors as i believe left and right WOULD always need different equalization due to the in-car environment), though, wif a lower pre-out voltage of 4V instead of the original 6.5V in the 8650

I would say if you are considering the Pioneer, if you can still find 8650 around it's worth the buy below RM1500.

as i kn0w.. from eclipse.. 8061 and 8051 is the copper deck.. (as in affordable price range)..
while from alpine it is 7990r and 7998r..

AFAIK, some ppl say that eclipse can't play pirated/pasar malam cd is because the eclipse can pick up and reproduce the imperfections introduced during production. don't expect those disc to be properly mastered. i've heard some really bad pirated disc although i use an entry level player. the sound is really horrible. a self-burned disc using MP3 ripped at 128k from original disc and then converted back to cd-audio format is years better than those horribly mastered discs.
if the cd is properly mastered, the eclipse is supposed to be a pleasure to listen to

copper deck means the HU body/cover is using copper
(this is to prevent external interference according to some other expert)

pure deck means it's just a CD "player" CD "transporter"
without DSP, TA, X-O, EQ,internal amp and wat so ever

a good example for copper pure deck is Eclipse CD8051/8061

almost same price as cD3000

wait no more.. surely is cd3000 bcz it has pre out voltage.. nice clean sound.. definately not a match wif 6850
