i am very headache to chosing HU..
which HU brand better?
i very interested Pioneer 5750/7750 and Eclipse CD2000/3000
then i listen many negative comment to Eclipse..
can any sifu guide me?..

this HU seem quite good...

kawan.. P1Y sure it's good.. an HU for rm3-5k(not sure).. how many ppl could afford 2 get 1? o should i say who is willing 2 spend tat amount of money juz 2 haf a HU?

hmm.. pioneer's good HU will start from deh-8650 and above.. and eclipse do good from their cd3000 and above..

bear in mind tat pioneer's HU is detachable while eclipse is not.. eclipse's pre-out is @ 5v while pioneer's.. not sure ler..

talking about user friendly.. pioneer is good at it. not tat eclipse is not good but juz tat it is less user friendly if 2 b compared wif..

hehe... you cannot wish to go far with stock HU... after you change your HU you will feel animprovement on the SQ... by how much still hav to see the HU...

with pioneer 5750 and 7750 i would say they are good mid range product... cons are the pre-out are rated at 2.2v max only... if you are aiming for a overall improvement then i would suggest you to get a high out-put pre-out... the eclipse would be jus nice with its 5v... this will make your overall SQ bolder and "full"

8650 is a good HU... dunno if they still produce this one... built-in crossover, EQ, TA and others... dun think they are too pricy...

between 5750 abnd 7750, i would choose 5750 cuz they are both basically the same thing jus that 7750 has the OEL thing... when you take that into account.. it will actually effect a little on your SQ as some of the power is use for the OEL and loss more as heat... the more power you lose the worse the SQ... thats why high end HU doesnt come with all thse "bunga"...

i'm an user of 5425.. but hmm.. ur Qs about the specs.. he! he! relli dono larhh..

i juz know tat the sound quality is satisfying while the built-in crossover not relli tat great larhh.. if u r not an extreme.. it's a good player..

DAC stands for Digital Analog Converter (extreme player is @ 24bit)

btw cd3000 is the replacement for 5425.. specs r around the same juz tat it comes along wif an IPOD ready feature.. (correct me if i'm wrong)

I would say that the Pioneer 8650 is actually a pretty full featured HU(13 band graphics EQ, ability to run 3-way active(2-way front + subwoofer), it's replacement model the P80RS is an even better unit, comes with 16 band seperate left and right graphics EQ, same 3-way active crossover with more crossover points for better flexibility.
