hw long do i need to change my tyre? 3 years or 50k mileage?

so far 2nd gen vios manual J about 28 months old stil ok, battery still good and mileage reached 43k. feel like the front tyre tracks is gonna to worn out, planning to swap to rear tyre till both left 20% and will change all. but no budget.....
*
for a good tyre, the life span is around 30k mileage.

this includes consideration that rubber tends to get harden due to the compound and hot weather in malaysia.

i strongly suggest that you change it if its reached the 30k mark.

just wondering if two clicks of handbrake pulling only, will it be over tighten?
*
nope. End of the day.. it will loose up and you will need more clicks to lock it properly.

hence, servicing is required to re-tune it back to have only few clicks.

its configured at the drum brake mechanism.

buying used car involved additional processing fee, insurance and puspakom charges.

i haven't mentioned much higher interest rate. also, definitely you need additional RM5k easily to change the tear and wear parts in a old car; when the car mileage is exceeding 200k mark.

do not expect 0 repair on used car.

buying rm33k axia auto is a much wiser choice.

My one need keep on pressing for the window fully down or up.

for the auto power window, it should be 1-touch setup.

send it for further check up.

Hi Sifus,

Which tyre would you recommend for Vios 2012 facelift model? Am currently still using the stock tyre - Bridgstone Potenza RE080 and worn out soon.

Tyre and Rim size are: 185/60R15

I am in dilemma between Michelin PS3 and Michelin Energy XM2. Am looking for more quiet, better handling and better mileage performance.

If you don't mind, can share what is the market price nowadays? Together with labour cost and alignment how much would it be in additional?

TQ for your advice and new recommendation if any. =]
*
if you're comparing PS3 and XM2, PS3 is way better in terms of grip.

for comfort, can try Goodyear Excellence since you already have budget for PS3.

Hi RoxyMunky,

Thank you.

What is the market price nowadays for the PS3? Will get discount if trade in old tyres? Usually how much discount in total for all 4 tyres? I just read from websites saying PS3 is good for Vios hence I have that thought. Never really go deep into study hence posting the questions here for all dugong owners.  rclxub.gif

Goodyear Excellence berapa ringgit agak agak?

Thanks thanks.
*
PS3 cost around RM220-250 per pcs as advertised in Mudah.my

Excellence, only available from 16 and above... laugh.gif

helo all sifus,

i inherited a 08 vios j spec from wife, i want to know if it is possible to modify/upgrade the wiper that have intermittent function just like the other specs.

also if i want to improve the car performance, what i should do 1st?
install safety bar?

thx in advance.
*
i never see such upgrade on the wiper intermittent options in the trade.

what performance you're referring to? it depends on what you wanna achieve in the first place?

Right now just want to increase the driving pleasure,  so plan to do sound proofing and entry level iCE. If got extra budget then maybe will change leather seat.
After that maybe install anti roll bar and exhaust system,  should cause a bomb right?
*
from your tone:
1. Sound proof
2. Entry Level Ice
3. Leather seat
4. ARB
5. Exhaust system

My suggestion:
1. Sound proof --> highly recommended to proceed with full floor + rear boot. Next, is wheel arch and 4 doors. Around RM3k.
2. Entry Level Ice --> the range is too wide; from RM1k to infinity.
3. Leather seat --> optional, cost around RM1.8-2.5k
4. ARB --> recommended to reduce bodyroll, much better handling at corners --> cost around RM400-550.
5. Exhaust system --> don't touch if you're sending in to those AhBeng workshops

hope the above helps. smile.gif

1. i think will do boot 1st, then only others if got budget. can do it section by section right?
2. ok any shop to recommend?
*
wise choise.

sure can do section by section.

As for reference, you can look for Welgan, tell him Ethan recommend; he should give you good price. No commission for me, tell you upfront first.
