Guys,

Pls take note that our Vios default battery size is NS60LS. Today my stock battery died, approximately 15months.

To my surprise, the given stock battery is size 40, instead of per paper stated above.

Pop ur hood and check it. If its 40, the battery is very small and leaving tonnes of space in base.

Today changed Century Marathoner size 60LS, it fits the base perfectly.

Even the battery guy Avanza also same case, given size 40 when paper stated 60.

I'm not sure if we can complaint to Toyota on this. However, its clearly stated that battery is not covered under warranty.

Just take not note.

there's no definite answer to this, as the voltage remains the same; just different capacity.

however, feedback from automotive enthusiasts indicate that bigger capacity battery tends to last longer.

I'd like to ask if anyone knows why there is clicking noise when braking with a bit of pressure?

Under light braking it would not show up, but pressing medium or even hard on the brakes and it would exhibit clicking noise.
*
you're referring to latest Vios?

If its from the pedal, then its the free-play mechanism that caused the annoying noise.

no solution to this, live with it.

sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

its not a problem but a characteristic of the startUp mechanics.

it wont give you any trouble.

So, please don't bother to "rectify" it.

Dear all sifus, I just got a secondhand Vios TRD of year 2005 (First Gen), auto gear. It is a wonderful car though old. rclxms.gif

But I can't find any user/service manual inside. sad.gif If anyone has the manuals, can photostat and mail it to me? Please pm me I'll give address and pay to you the cost biggrin.gif

rclxub.gif I need to find out what's the manufacturer recommended engine oil specs for this model-it is safe to use 10W40, or what?

And also, for a 10 year old engine, does it matter to use fully or semi synthetic oil?

So far, that's all. Thank you. notworthy.gif

use Semi-Syn is good enough.

either 10W40 of 5W50, depending on your usage.

but so far 10W40 is good enough for our climate.

Another question. My friend just bought a new Altis latest model. He has done three services at the SC. He'd like to know after the first year, it is beneficial to keep going back to toyota SC to service his car? What kind of engine oil do they use for Altis? Can we bring our own engine oil? Should new car use fully-synthetic oil?
