For 1.8, does the sunroof stop from closing when it detect any object try to block it?
*
Yes it does sense if hit hard object, it will retract back. But don't fully rely on it. We have a club member whose baby died Bcoz neck stuck. Rip. God bless.
The baby neck too soft for it to detect.

Oh sh*t. That is bad. That is why I never get a car with sun roof. I originally wanted a 1.8 but that had a sun roof. Got a 1.6 instead.  blink.gif

Anyway, sometimes parents are to blame for letting their kids poke their head out of the sun roof. Yeah, may seem fun at that time but malang tidak berbau. Accidents can happen anytime, been there before. shocking.gif
*
I still let my son go up the sunroof. But now we know it, we are very careful. I cover the button with my hand so nobody can accidentally tekan the sunroof to close.

I am the one who got the Elantra 1.8L Limited Edition from Laura Teoh.
My version is like 2013 Elantra 1.8L Premium, with electric folding side mirror and exclude sunroof.

I am a member of Elantra now...  rclxm9.gif

hi all to all elantra owner , planing to get my 2nd car now  but considering city V and Elantra 1.6 . My fren advise me to get 1.8 elantra instead. Just wan to in term of FC 1.8 isit better than 1.6?
*
How can u compare b and c segment car?
U r like comparing city and civic which to get.
That is the irony in malaysia here. Japan car so overpriced it causes comparison between different segments between Korea and jap car.
If fc is ur main concern and u r single, I suggest go city. Honda really come out with best deal winner package this time. Avoid UMW the money sucker at all cost

Anyone installed pedal lock (Redbat / Locktech) for Elantra? Should be plug and use type.

Will this void warranty?

For Saga, the SC has no problem with this. But how about Elantra?
*
I installed in my old toyota cars before. Very convenient. Only regret the rattle noises after a few months. Made worse by all the rattles already present in toyota cars. My car become like a rattle tin can.

This car was made for family and leisure. Attacking corner with hi speed and lack of proper skill could lead to major body roll and lost control of the car. Drive safe bro..  rclxms.gif
*
Not for me though. I come from driving uncle T car. This car body roll improved alot for me.

to be honest, this elantra overall perform really nice and stable at even high speed on good condition road.. but at those bumpy roads or roads with hole especially at KL area..

oh and one more thing.. the pick up for elantra really terrible leh = = or is it just my 1.6 elantra so bad in pick up
*
1.6 underpowered for such a huge internal space car. Many shared same thought.

If driving at 90km/h n hit uneven road n it sway i would say its definately the absorber problem. See whether your absorber is APM brand if is apm them go to sc n request for change bcos mine last time my absorber also apm n even worst than sway it bump few times when hit uneven road, but after changing the absorber from the sc n plus the ARB now everything is fine n plus lower the back wheel air pressure its fantastic now.
*
Yup absorber problem. Problem when hitting holes, not cornering. Cornering body roll is minimal compared to uncle cars. Though bump it will 'jump' to a different Lane. Seems like spring too soft or too bouncy... Members installed stabiliser bar solved the issue.

When the air con is on after a few minute. A lot of water drop at the passenger seat n weat the whole matte.
I suspect climate control air filter..
This monday will go to sc n check
*
Yes quickly go back sc check. Happen to my ex T car b4. The pipe delivering the aircond water out stuck or not joint properly.

Just got my elantra from LauraTeoh moment ago. I must say that she is very dedicated and very quick in response compared to other SAs contacted me, else I might purchased Cerato instead Elantra.

There is some issue about my trade in, but she did a good work in helping me to solve the issues (in pretty fast and efficient manners). Most importantly, she delivered her promises. icon_rolleyes.gif  Hope there is good after sales services as well  rclxms.gif
Quite a massive jam from Glenmarie to KL, but I enjoy the new ride. To me, the 1.6 is a bit under-power (still acceptable) but the drive is quite fun and quiet. Elantra got a pretty good noise insulation as I can only hardly to hear the noise from surroundings. No issue spotted so far.

BTW, I forgot to bring my smart tag along  doh.gif  and I have to open door to pay for the tolls (as I just done the tinting)  sweat.gif  . Perhaps this make other drives there, think even new korean car already got problem with the mirrors...

I remember u in this forum long time. Now finally make the jump?
Congrats!

On the fuel consumption topic... do a test:

Heavy footed or demanding driving, turn off Eco mode

Easy cruising, turn on Eco mode

Change the mode any time during driving.

See got what results tongue.gif
*
As a sales person u should know by now the HE 'eco mode' it's just an indicator how heavy footed u r?
It doesn't in any way control the throttle.

Nobody mention it's the most spacious c segment car out there?
It used to boast the best spec c segment car for its price point. No longer the case now with cerato launched.
