Any workshop should be fine. You can Google around for Korean car specialist as well if you like. Korean car are very similar in design as compared with Japanese and local cars. Front wheel drive, McPherson struts, engine layout etc.

I have changed my absorber and engine mounting. I bought online and took it to normal workshop to replace it. They did it just fine biggrin.gif

Normal service for oil change, I would say it's similar to Japanese car. Oil change for fully synthetic can be done RM100+
Personally I'm using Shell Helix Ultra, same as what service center is using. You can get it online or from Tesco during promotion.

For spare part wise, after market parts are readily available. Pricing are very similar to Japanese rivals.

If you plan to go for original OEM parts, you'll be surprised that Korea original parts are much cheaper than Japanese original parts.
Besides, I can tell you that there are a lot of "fake" Honda and Toyota parts out there with fake original packaging. Not so much for Korean cars, maybe the demand is not that high, so no one are counterfeiting Korean spare parts yet  tongue.gif

just sharing i bought an OEM control arm branded OSUNG, two new control arm for RM300+
OEM's control arm is lighter and thinner compared to original, after 1 year +driving in KL road with potholes, one side of the bushing came out due to the bushing holder cracked.

luckily i did keep the original control arm, went back to Hyundai service centre and replace the bushing then install back. cost around RM600+

i guess what you pay is what you get.

hi,

does any elantra 2012/2014 owner (bottom AC) mod their car radio player before?

to the android version?

is 2gb enough for waze and spotify?

seems like there's a big difference between 2gb and 4gb in terms of pricing

can see 2gb costs around 350-500 while additional to 4gb suddenly jacked up to 900-1200

Hi all, where to buy original part? Only authorised service centre will have it? Possible to get outside?

Thinking to buy the original part and install at normal workshop. Parts like lower arm, bush, stabilizer link.

Calling on Elantra owners,
Right at the bottom of this Post is a link to a DIY Rear Wheel Alignment on shimming Rear Torsion Beam of a 2012 Elantra.

Care to share your experience on shimming a rear axle?

Any reliable and competent shop in klang valley to handle such shimming jobs?

For your information, I found out my elantra fuel consumption is quite low. Full tank, I went to Genting from Ipoh staying 1 night over there, and traveling to Teluk Intan the next day. After staying 1night in Teluk Intan, I went back to Ipoh. There is still 3bars fuel after traveling 500KM.

Just to keep this place active and shared my experience smile.gif

Now kayaba has struts and absorber for Elantra MD. Check its dealer location. I bought from dealer and find a shop to install. After installed the drive become stable. Less shakes.

As I know Hyundai original uses Mando, so anyone tried both Mando and Kyaba before and which is better?
