Well, if we do sign Matic and Essien is loaned out. We have Ramires, Lamps, Mikel, Matic and MVG.

The future looks good. Even if Lamps decided to retire, we have experience (Mikel), talent for the future (MVG), a tireless worker (Ram) and a rock in the midfield (Matic). thumbup.gif

An interesting read on why we need Matic.

QUOTE
The notable difference in the player from three years ago is the precision with which he now operates. He now reads the game considerably faster than he did three years ago, and his passing has become far more accurate as a result. Instead of either holding the ball too long or simply getting rid of it as soon as receiving it, Matic is now making excellent quick decisions on what to do and moving the ball in short order. He's not a dynamic distributor in the style of Andrea Pirlo, but he's certainly not going to be someone that we complain "only passes it sideways".

He's always been very aggressive in his defending, but his total fouls and cards have remained about the same while the amount of challenges he's attempting have nearly doubled. He'll likely always be the sort of player that flirts with yellow card suspensions, but that's more because of the volume of challenges he's involved in as opposed to overly reckless play.

The player would compliment our current under 30 options very well. With Ramires, he'd provide a pair that cover immense amounts of ground, challenge for every ball in the midfield, and allow the attacking band to worry less about covering for the pivot. With Mikel, he'd give Chelsea a physically imposing pair, capable of easily putting games to bed.

Passes it sideways, haha, macam sindir Mikel je. whistling.gif

oh no, no Micah Richards pls, not even in starting 11 for City, wanna play for us? doh.gif

If Matic does come, I'm pretty sure Mou's starting pivot duo will be Ram + Matic. Mikel will be used when leading 1-0 for impact sub, to park the bus in the midfield. brows.gif

I would say yes to Micah Richards, CB that can play RB, very strong in the air, good back up with low salary(i guess), since we are short of CB
*
hmm.gif imo, if Matic does come, Luiz will not be playing in pivot since it is already very pack with Lamps, Ram, Mikel, Matic and the soon to recover MVG. Luiz might be fighting for CB position.

If Matic does not come, I prefer Luiz to focus on fighting for pivot position. He has been playing quite well in that position. Richards can be good back up for Cahill and Terry.

So I think it depends on the Matic transfer. If it does not materialize, Richard can be a good signing. nod.gif

QUOTE
However, Mourinho insists any incomings will not include a striker as he has faith in Fernando Torres to continue his good recent form, with the Spain international having scored in two successive games.

However, Mourinho says both Mata and summer signing Andre Schurrle, who has also spent more time on the bench than in the team this season, will not be sold.

"The others (Oscar, Willian, Eden Hazard), they are playing very well and the team is playing very well," Mourinho added.

"But we need other players. If the game goes on being 0-0 then Mata is coming into the game as he is a fantastic player. But the game went into another direction, we scored and then after that my brain worked in another way.

"But we need them. We need Mata, we need (Andre) Schurrle, we need these players as we cannot do it with three.

"Maybe in February maybe some are not in the best form and Juan is coming at the top of his game."
sos

Seems like Mata is indeed in Mou's plan. thumbup.gif

QUOTE
Jose Mourinho has pledged his long-term future to Chelsea, claiming he does not want to manage anywhere else.

"I'm not here thinking about my next move because I don't want to have a next move," he told the Evening Standard.

"I will have a next move if and when Chelsea decides it's time for that.

"I'm here to stay. I belong to Chelsea, Chelsea belong to me. I gave a lot to Chelsea in the past but they also gave a lot to me. This is a different professional relationship."
sos

Very very happy to read this. Knowing that Mou is here for the long term. I think with SAF now gone, Mou is trying to build a dynasty with Chelsea. He is trying to dethrone Man Utd and Liverpool as the team that had won the PL the most time. I surely hope he is thinking this way. brows.gif

Some transfer news and rumours.

Mata to Bayern. Reports suggesting that Bayern won't sign him this January since Mata will not be able to feature for Bayern in the Champions League. But Mata is eager to move in the summer to Bayern.

KDB finalizing move to Wolfsburg.

Matic could be sign in the next 24 hours.

QUOTE(Gaia34 @ Jan 14 2014, 12:11 AM)
So guys both Matic and Guarin linked to us, the question is who do you prefer? haha
*
For playing style, I would prefer Guarin. To me he is an all action type of midfielder, box to box, high energy level, packs a nice long range shoot, can dribble too. Just felt that it's time for Chelsea to sign a midfielder like that. Someone that can replace Lamps when his performance starts to drop.

But imho, we are better suited to Matic. Mou would wan our pivot to be solid, hard to break down, and control the game. So I think Mou given the choice of Guarin and Matic, he will go for Matic. hmm.gif

Not sure though. only got report saying KDB will leave us, didn't state whether is loan or transfer. I hope its a loan. cry.gif This kid is really good, he played so well for Bremen last season, but just could not break into our starting 11. I hope to see him don the Chelsea jersey again.

Wow, some good news we have. brows.gif

With Matic's arrival, I'm pretty sure Luiz will have to fight for CB position instead of pivot dy. With Matic's signing, now the pivot like too crowded pula. doh.gif MVG has also return to light training iinm.

It's a bit pity for Luiz actually, he was starting to find his place in the pivot role with some good performance. But now, we got ourself a proper midfield general.

I'm sure now Lamps feel senang hati sikit. Got successor for him dy, maybe that will ease off some pressure from Lamps and get him all fired up to perform better to nail down starting 11 position. brows.gif

Pivot department done, now time to enhance our striker department. brows.gif

Another rumour is that Essien might go on loan, whereabouts unknown, maybe a PL club. hmm.gif His departure has no effect on us I would say, we now have Matic, Ram, Mikel, Lamps and the recovering MVG.

But still, if Essien leaves, all the best to him. I still rmb the stunning volley he scored against Barca. Epic! thumbup.gif

Looks like Sevilla wants Marin to stay and Marin is happy with that too. But comparison to Messi? Come on.......

22 mil is a bargain tbh. Matic has been playing superbly for Benfica. Let's not forget he was voted as Portugese League's best player too. Let's not forget it's a 5 and half year deal too.

Fellaini 27.5 mil to Man Utd (what has Fellaini won during his time in Everton?), Fab 35 mil to Barca, Ozil 42.5 mil to Arsenal, Bale 77 mil to Madrid. Given the recent inflation, 22 mil is not a bargain then what it is? lel.

For Rooney, I think he won't come to us this Jan. Probably Rooney is just using us as transfer rumours to get a better contract extension.

Until the summer, if Man Utd still underachieve, then maybe will reconsider leaving them and joining us. brows.gif

bs again at their thread..we write one thing..they read differently..

but the fact that we signed Matic to solve our pivot problem..already two season with this problem.

next !!!

let discuss United home and what Matic can bring to the team.

smile.gif
*
Just let them bro. Some ppl just can't accept how other club runs and their policy. Just bcoz their manager is has an economy degree, they think 'eh canot buy mahal, cannot spend a lot, muz save money' lel.

They think only their club are run properly. Other club that has rich owners, other club that has huge fan base, other club that has different policy are all wrong. Only their club is right (living in their own dreamland). This is called supporting blindly and denying facts. tongue.gif

Can't blame them. Hater gonna hate.

expect energetic performance by Matic covering ground in own half and opponent half. He'll be the new engine for us. thumbup.gif

Anyway, next match against Man Utd is at the Bridge right?

hmm.gif I think Matic might not start. Not much time to train with the team and get the team's tactic and strategy. Maybe next week, he'll be ready.
