The match started off not in the best way. Man utd was attackin early on. But once we got hold of the ball, once we scored the first goal, we were in total control.
Kudos to Mou for proving me wrong by starting Eto. Sian torres, score in bak to bak games but didnt start. But Eto, his poacher instinct is still intact. Superb performance by him. Often drop deep to help out our midfield. Brings players in play easily.
Cahill and Terry fantastic as usual. Luiz was clumsy. But after the yellow card he looks composed, good clearance by him in many occasion. Willian doing good both in attack and defence.
Overall a good performance by us.
But that Cicakrito. Dayum...no clean sheet for cech. My fpl!
Win number 100 for Mou. The fastest manager to achieve 100 win in epi iinm.

With Hazard tightly marked, i would say Willian did step up his game. His dribbles, pushing the ball forwars and running pass defenders, his willingness to track back, and also his work rate. So sorry for Shurrle.

De Bruyne is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying: "My pre-season was good, my first game too, but I still don't know why I lost my place after the game against Manchester United. "I've also never asked Mourinho. He has never told me: 'Kevin, you don't train well.' It's a pity he told a press conference that I wasn't doing well on the training pitch. That's not me. "I'm always a player who gives the full 100 per cent in training. Those remarks created a wrong image." Troubled seemed to be on the horizon for the 22-year-old Belgian international after a trip to Swindon in the Capital One Cup lead to him being left out of the squad for a trip to Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League. When asked why, Mourinho answered: "With Kevin, I didn't like the match he played against Swindon, and I didn't like the way he was training." sosKDB having a dig at Mou. I dun like this type of players. Sold dy then bad mouth previous manager.

£40million for Mata! Chelsea willing to sell outcast but Manchester United must match mammoth fee if they are to land the maestro. Manchester United have been told to pay £40million for Juan Mata after the champions stepped up their interest in the Chelsea outcast. Despite posturing from both clubs, Chelsea are willing to sell the Spanish playmaker if United match their valuation — and David Moyes is believed to be on the brink of making an offer. The deal is complicated because Chelsea still have an interest in Wayne Rooney, but United will not sell the striker. That does not mean Moyes wants to offload Wayne Rooney. United are prepared to bite the bullet and let Rooney run down his contract until 2015 if he continues to turn down talks on a new deal. He has worked well with Moyes and the hope is he will be convinced to stay by the manager’s summer dealings. sos kicapdailymail source quite accurate wan le. It's ok if Mata leave for me, but pls not to a Premier League club. Go to PSG or Barca is ok for me. But if he stays and fight for his place, even better.

If i were Mou, loan deal for both Mata and Rooney both going the opposite direction.
Since we've dy played Utd twice, Mata will only play for us in a Utd shirt against City and other top 4 team. Man Utd win, top 4 lose points, we get to try out our formation with Rooney being able to play at AM and striker, end of season, Mata back to use and we sell to PSG, Rooney contract habis, we sign for free. Win, win, win, win. Am i too greedy? Haha

Seems lik Man Utd is serious in signing Mata. But where will Mata play? As we all know when both rvp and rooney is fit, both wil play. 442, if Mata play in the mid, he will have defensive duties too, which i think is not his best attribute. To fully utilize Mata, he needs 2 midfielders bhind him prooviding defensive duties.

Well, deep in my heart, I want Mata to stay. But if he insist to leave, I hope he transfer abroad. Not to a direct rival like Man Utd (although they are mid table team ) in the Premier League. Sell Mata to PSG, ask for Ibra. Sell Mata to Atletico, ask for Costa. If we really have to sell Mata to Man Utd, pls include Rooney in the deal. Rooney can flourish well in the AM role. He should give some very healthy competition to Oscar. And also can increase our british quota on home grown player. Let's keep our faith with Mou. I'm sure he knows what is he doing. Even if Mata leaves, Mou should have a replacement in his mind for him dy. If Mata does leave, we need to recall Piazon. If not only 4 players in trident position, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle and Willian. Unless Rooney is in the deal, then we have 5 players fighting for the trident position. Not bad. I've been reading Utd's thread. Their fans are saying play Mata on the left, play Mata on the right. But tbh, I hope Moyes don't accommodate Januzaj and Kagawa too much. IF Mata does go to Man Utd, pls let him play no. 10 role, Mata plays the best in that role, bhind the striker, sending through balls like nobody's business. I dare to say that Mata is better than Januzaj and Kagawa in the number 10 role. If Mata is being forced to play left or right, I doubt he'll be happy too. Already cant play no. 10 role in Chelsea, later go Utd being played on the flanks again. Kesian. This post has been edited by briantwj: Jan 22 2014, 04:12 PM

Yes. We do have a lot of talent in our youth.
Defender - chalobah, omeruo, van annholt, kalas Midfield - romeu, mceahren, traore, thorgan hazard, piazon, kakuta Striker - lukaku, davila, bamford
But the question is 'are they up to the standard for our first team?'
Judging by their loan spell. Lukaku, Piazon, van annholt, romeu and thorgan hazard imo can step up into first team. Van annholt and piazon is playing very well in vitesse, Romeu is alreasy first choice in Valencia iinm, Thorgan Hazard's performance has dy linked him with other potential buyers.
Another question is, 'is mou brave enough to entrust his team with youngsters?'

Seems like Mata's transfer to Utd is inevitable. He WAS once my favourite player for the past 2 seasons, his performance was tip top when selected by RDM, Rafa and AVB. Everyone wants to play in the World Cup for their country. Can't blame Mata for pushing for a move. Can't blame Chelsea for letting him go. It's better than Malouda's situation. I rmb Malouda was left to rot in the reserves iinm. At least in Mata's case, we respect the player's decision, albeit we are all sad to see him leave, especially to a rival like Man Utd. It still pains me to see Mata donning the red devil jersey. But still, as a fan, I wish him all the best and I thanks him for giving us 2 spectacular season. In Jose we trust! Let's just hope Rooney is part of the deal, or, Mou already have someone in mind to provide competition to our trident position. Now just 4 players for the trident position, Hazard, Willian, Oscar and Schurrle. Another solution is to let Ram compete for trident position. Leave the pivot to Mikel, Lamps, MVG, Matic.

QUOTE(hakka_jin @ Jan 23 2014, 09:38 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « may I know what other club is making transfer request for Mata? as I read from one article, Mata is not suitable for Real and Barca as they too are fully loaded with talented midfielders....
PSG is not making enquiries... what other big clubs are pursuing Mata? Series A is a big no no since they are involve in all sorts of match fixing.... I don't think any mid table teams of any league would afford Mata's price tag...
so, it might be the only reasonable choice at the moment... plus please don't compare RVP's case with Mata... Mata didn't leave because he wants to taste silverware... Mata is full with silverware... he leaves because he loves to play football... RVP is a totally different case... iinm, Atletico also wants Mata. And also Courtois. And we want Costa? The situation is confusing.

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Jan 23 2014, 09:44 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I was going to write a summary on the utd game but the mata rumours have just killed my mood. Let it be known that I’m totally AGAINST this transfer and can’t seem to understand why we’re so willing to do business with one of our biggest rivals throughout these years in the EPL.
A classy professional on and off the pitch – our most intelligent player when he’s on the ball (yes, better than hazard and Oscar if anyone’s wondering), not the strongest but definitely with the most assured touch. Head and shoulders above everyone when it comes to setpieces (particularly on corner duty) and never ‘goes down’ easily in the box to try and win penalties.
Became a true blue fan since he arrived, taking in the sights and sounds around SW6, and as someone else pointed out he tweets and writes with PRIDE whenever we win, even when he’s NOT INVOLVED in a match. Has never complained about being excessively benched without good reason (I still stubbornly believe that ‘work rate’ thing is a myth, and could’ve been improved upon in due course, if it’s such a big deal).
Where do u even find players like him these days? The typical modern professional footballer would’ve mouthed off to the media weeks ago or kicked up some kind of tantrum behind the scenes but juan merely kept his head down, worked hard, and above all, supported the team.
Even that alleged show of ‘dissent’ after the Southampton match was disgustingly blown out of proportion by the media imo, and what’s more surprising to me is, if anyone remembers the post-match interview with jose right after the game, the gaffer claims he didn’t see the incident. But seeing how juan’s been left out in the cold since that encounter, it’s obvious he made his mind up based on something either he read, or heard about. Heck I’d be more concerned if players were NOT showing displeasure when they were taken off, as it can indicate a lack of passion and spirit for the team.
Looking at the bigger picture, I guess with the impending world cup this is a move he simply has to make, in order to have any hope of making that plane to brazil. What’s unfortunate is the fact that it was a decision he was forced into, and I’m 100% certain one that he didn’t envision he had to make when jose first stepped through that door.
Although I still trust jose as our manager, that doesn’t mean I have to agree with the decision. I still believe we’re one or two injuries away from looking like complete fools, in the event that we don’t sign a quality replacement in THIS transfer window. Lastly, I wish him well wherever he ends up, as he deserves so much better. If anyone’s wondering if he’ll come back to haunt us, wonder no more because I truly believe he will. 40mil pounds for our most creative player is a bargain, and I hope he finds joy in his new team.
p.s: Alternatively if he ends up staying and signing a new contract, I’d be ecstatic. Sigh. Well said bro. Mata has been a true professional player. Even in games that he didn't play, his facebook and tweet always shows how happy he is for Chelsea when we win. He is a true blue imho. Just that the World Cup situation has forced him to move in this transfer windows. But to Utd? I'm disappointed too. I prefer him to go abroad. Anywhere in PSG, Atletico, Inter will do. But why Utd????

Thorgan Hazard just won an award from Belgium too. I totally agree with Ichi on this. Time to bring bak Hazard and Piazon. I'm sure 1 day the Hazard brothers will use their telepathy skills to kill our opponents.

QUOTE(abusive123 @ Jan 23 2014, 09:52 AM) Mata has been nothing but a gentleman to this club. His pay isnt as excessive as some of the earners that don't pull their weight around( modest 70k per week ). He was our top player even at the most difficult times when we struggle to break into top 4. CFC player of the year for 2 years in a row. We have done nothing but ill treat this wonderful player. I was having a good week until this load of dump was dropped on me. Comical club! Relax bro. At least we didn't let him rot in the U21 or reserves. He wants first team football, which I think Utd can give to him. And also Mata has experience playing in the PL, unlike Koke and Utd's other transfer target. So in some sense, it's expected Utd will come knocking for Mata. We are just the fan. Maybe the board, manager or chairman has some issues bhind closed door, maybe ffp, maybe to reduce the congested midfield. I think there are other factors too. 40M for a player that has not being playing that much this season. I would say it is a good deal from the point of $$. And we gain almost double the amount that we bought him for. I'm sure Mou has something up his sleeve. KTBFFH! In Mou we trust.

QUOTE(hhng @ Jan 23 2014, 10:11 AM) Think positive.... This maybe create a good reputation for the club in coming transfer window... The club respect the player and allow mata to move on... Other talented player will feel more secure to join us in transfer window... We respect the player desire, and I believe we will attract a lot better chance in transfer window.. And JM mush be confident thorgan and piazon will fill out the gap in coming season. And please note that.. A lot youngster is boosted to return to compete the seat left by mata... Lukaku, Piazon and Thorgan must be licking their lips, knowing they have the chance to play for us since Mata and KDB left.
