well with Bertrand going to Aston Villa on loan.

Soton problem with management.

I sense Shaw is coming..but nothing concrete yet.. smile.gif

Essien might leave us to Serie A.

1. Is Mourinho Resurrecting the Chelsea of Old?

Scene: Roman Abramovich’s London home in the second underground floor (of three). Date: December 8th, immediately after Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to Stoke City.

If the season opened with speculation that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would use his stable of creative thoroughbreds to play the same type of attacking football favored by his Real Madrid teams, those expectations have been dispensed with in the past six matches. Chelsea have adopted the same template used by Mourinho during his first stint at the club—relentless pressure when attacking, devastating counter attacks, and a stingy back line that sacrifices flair for muscle, organization, and stability.

And while this Chelsea may lack the brute power and masterful finishing of Didier Drogba, the wizardry of Eden Hazard and genius of Oscar has more than made up for it. Those two attacking players likely represent the finest winger and creative midfielder that Mourinho has ever had at the club—and they’ve made up for the fact that some of the other players are noticeably inferior to their predecessors from Mourinho’s first stint at the club. (Let’s just say John Obi Mikel, for all his qualities, is no Claude Makelele. And Frank Lampard circa 2014 is no Frank Lampard circa 2005.) In time, we should expect that Mourinho will find the right battering ram of a striker and rugged midfield and defensive players to truly complete his squad. (The striker isn’t hard to figure out as Chelsea have regularly been linked with Monaco’s Radamel Falcao. Who will fill out the midfield and defense is more of an open question, but even the exact same squad with only Falcao substituted in for Samnando Et’orres is a frightening thought for supporters of other clubs.)

This more organized and rugged Chelsea has fully emerged in the past six matches since their 3-2 loss to Stoke in early December. In those six matches, Chelsea have won 16 out of a possible 18 points and conceded only two goals—.33 goals per game, which is about what Mourinho’s sides gave up during his first stint in England.

this article posted before the confirmation.

De Bruyne asked Mourinho to let him go

We're still waiting on official news regarding Kevin de Bruyne's sale to Wolfsburg, but much like Nemanja Matic's arrival at Chelsea this one seems to have been unofficially wrapped up long before anyone actually confirmed the deal. Jose Mourinho said in his press conference yesterday that he was 'more than probably leaving', the player himself is apparently in Germany for a medical, and so now we just wait on an announcement.

In the meantime, we get to hear a little about just what happened to the 22-year-old at Stamford Bridge. Although the full article isn't out online yet, HLN spent a lot of time chatting to de Bruyne, and those in the Belgian-footballing-know are sharing some interesting tidbits. Take a look:

In exclusive HLN interview, Kevin De Bruyne says he asked Mourhino to let him go and that he got on well with the Portuguese coach. #cfc

De Bruyne also told HLN that he did extra training - also on his days off - but it didn't change situation. Interview in print version. #cfc

De Bruyne lost weight, cut out junk food (seriously though, why did he have to wait for Mourinho to tell him to stop drinking Coca-Cola!?), did extra work in training, but it still wasn't enough to force his way into the first team, and with the World Cup on the horizon, he needed to get out. It doesn't sound like there are any hard feelings here, just raw pragmatism from both parties.

I'm still a bit flummoxed by his comments on diet (there's been some clarification from the Dutch speaking commenters -- de Bruyne wasn't implying he was binging on sweets; rather that he lost weight despite the availability of treats). Without taking away from my affection for him, de Bruyne sometimes gives off the impression of a lackadaisical child rather than an elite footballing prospect, and I'm getting the suspicion that his idea of 'working hard in training' might be very different to the manager's. That's not a recipe for a happy ending at Chelsea.

No chance for him at Chelsea. Don't think he got attitude and training problem. Maybe you doesn't see the quality in him. Good for him that the transfer went through. I believe he'll do well in German.
*
no continues chances..he was given chances..here and there..and none of them impressive enough for Mou to give him more..

he got attitude and training problem..read around the articles..he recently changed his diet..train harder..just started to give 100% in training..and Mou said this in a few interview already..

he is a good kid..no doubt..talented player..of cuz..but this training problem is normal..he still a kid..I dont blame him..cuz at least he try to change..too bad that for me his mental is not strong enough.

this is my view as a fan..but to be fair..everything you said is also true..it all depend on your perspective..

Matchday !

I will go for 3 in midfielder..just to be sure..because United might flood the midfielder area, after we settle down..maybe switch back to 4-2-3-1.

Cech
Azpi,Cahill,Terry,Cole
Ramires,Luiz, Lampard
Oscar,Torres,Hazard

and i'm hoping for this in the second half..

Cech
Azpi,Cahill,Terry,Cole
Ramires,Luiz/Lampard
Mata,Oscar,Hazard
Torres.

he has had a fantastic week and it was very difficult for me to leave him out because he's worked very well- used on mata before?  sweat.gif
*
i always optimist that for the past few games that mata not even play for a minutes..he actually undergo a training to accelerate him into adapting to mau tactics..so the next time he play..it will be massive performance from him..just like luiz..not playing for a few games..suddenly a DM..and perform well enough for him to keep the place..

damn i'm optimist guy hahaha biggrin.gif

the mata situation is the only thing i feel sad about. I love him as a player. Last few seasons he has been the pillar we leaned on for something to happen and this season he is like a shadow of his former self. Hope jose can do something and turn Mata around sad.gif sad.gif
*
I believe that Jose doing something about him.

another reason why I'm happy about the performance againt United is that we not even on full gear against them..more like a weekly performance by the team..the difference was Eto'o.

as far as the team able to pull a results, i would not mind seeing some key players on the bench. we are on a winning streak, im afraid if u rotate some key position it will bringimpact to the team momentum. Willian and Hazard has been tremendoua lately, Oscar may deteroriate a bit but still as a whole team they playing well..so if its not break why fix it
*
agree but..players need rest..and must be fair to the player that train hard and impress in the training..

oscar had a so-so game..that is why i want mata to play the next game..maybe oscar tired or complacent because Mou always play him ahead of Mata.

and i'm hoping for Matic and Luiz for next game at pivot. nod.gif
