matic is a good choice for our pivot. love his game play during europa final against chelsea. matic & ramires can be a good combination.

i think essien is on his way out already.

When come to select pivot, RAMIRES will be first on JM team sheet, he is indispensable at the moment. Beside his tireless pressing, his pace and willingness to run forward always help add another number when we counter attack. Not to forget he score goal. When against top opponent, JM will also deploy him as RW. He offer so much to the team, the only thing he is lacking is his first touch and i dont expect him to pass like PIRLO or ALONSO.

And dont write off LAMPARD so soon, he always come back stronger, later all become his backup

Nemanja Matic has told his club Benfica that he wishes to rejoin Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to the Metro.

The 26-year-old has been a revelation in the Portuguese league since joining in a deal that saw David Luiz move to Stamford Bridge in 2011.

His form has inspired interest from a number of clubs including Manchester City and Arsenal but it is Chelsea and Manchester United who have been linked most heavily.


With Manchester United struggling in the Premier League and Michael Carrick also failing to find form or fitness, it was reported that Moyes  was plotting a move for the €30m-rated defensive midfielder.

But in what could be another massive transfer blow for the Old Trafford boss, Matic has told his club that he wants to join Jose Mourinho at Chelsea in the near future.

The Blues were thought to be lining up a £17m bid for the player they allowed to leave for free and will be boosted by the player's decision to return to west London.

With John Obi Mikel his only viable option for the anchorman role in midfield at the moment, Mourinho is keen to add steel to his midfield and strengthen Chelsea's Premier League title challenge.

Manchester United have also been linked with a £24m move for Ilkay Gundogan and may need to explore that option further after Matic's decision to reject interest from Old Trafford.
