Hi all,

Can anyone explain the difference between "Insurans nyawa dan KWSP" and "Insurans pendidikan dan perubatan"? my KWSP is maxed out, can I claim my personal insurance under "Insurans pendidikan dan perubatan"?

By the way, both are under "Pelepasan / Rebat / Tolakan Cukai / Pelepasan Cukai" section.

Thanks in advance.

Please refer to your policy annual statement to determine how much you can claim for the relief for these two clauses.

Hi,

1) In EA form Item B1, the " Fi (termasuk fi pengarah), komisen atau bonus" is already inside "gaji kasar" right?
so basically just put amount in " gaji kasar" that line to "Pendapatan berkanun penggajian" ?

2) In EA form Item B2 "Nilai Manfaat atau kemudahan berupa barangan" will flow to any categories in efiling?  or is already included in "gaji kasar"?

3) Item G "JUMLAH ELAUN / PERKUISIT / PEMBERIAN / MANFAAT YANG DIKECUALIKAN CUKAI" is not included in chargeable income so can ignore the amount when filing ?

Thanks!

So the amount of "Gaji kasar, upah atau gaji cuti" already include "Fee,Komisen atau bonus" ?
Because seems like the total don't tally

or need to combine the amount of "Gaji kasar, upah atau gaji cuti" + "Fi,Komisen atau bonus" +"Tip kasar" + "Nilai Manfaat atau kemudahan berupa barangan" from EA form will go to Penggajian (Employment) field in e-filling?

Thanks
*
The whole section B of the EA form will go to Pendapatan berkanun penggajian in the BE form.

This includes all gross salary, annual bonus, profit sharing, overtime, fixed allowance, benefits (tangible & non-tangible), stocks option, discount on your employee stock purchase and etc.

One question. I am on a long term contract basis and the company provide me no EA form or whatsoever. How should I calculate my taxable income? Should I :-

1) Add basic + OT?
2) Add basic + OT - EPF?
3) Petrol allowance taxable?
4) Annual leave reimbursement taxable?

Thanks! smile.gif
*
Taxable income from employment: Gross pay + OT + fixed taxable income + taxable tangible and intangible benefits

Basically the sum value of Section B

Non-taxable benefits are declared under Section G of BIK.

Thanks for the input however as i am on the 'long term contract' basis, the company is not doing the MTD/PCB for me and is not going to provide me EA form either. So i'll be doing this on my own. When you mentioned gross pay does that mean basic + OT but not subtracting EPF? IE: 1000 basic + 300 OT = 1300?

Appreciated..
*
You'll put your EPF deduction at the lower section of the BE form.

This EPF relief is shared with life insurance policy up to RM 6000 max.

hi all,

just come across a question, for rental income as i know you may deduct the term loan interest as expenditure as well, what if
i take refinancing for the shop lot and repay it for another resident unit(which cant deduct interest loan) am i still eligible to deduct the loan interest from the shop lot since it is refinancing and not the loan for first time purchase.

thanks alot.
*
You can only deduct direct expenses incurred from the unit that you're renting out.

can i add in the pcb for the "perkuisti" to the cursor highlight above?

Someone told me that the " PCB YANG TELAH DIBAYAR" column cannot be amended..

Plz advise.

tq in advance
*
I thought "Jenis Pendapatan" for yester-years should be "Penggajian". You just fill in your gross income (Section B of your EA form) and your EPF deduction. That's all.

The "PCB Yang Telah Dibayar" is only meant for current year of assessment. You can't amend it.

But for REIT, REIT dividends since already withheld 10%, I also no need to declare the dividends received.  Correct?

QUOTE
Tax treatment of Unitholders:-

Where 90% or more of the REIT’s total taxable income is distributed, dividends paid by REIT to its Unitholders will be subject to a withholding tax as follows:-

10% withholding tax – all individuals and non-corporate investors such as institutional investors (regardless of whether they are tax resident or not)
25% withholding tax – non-resident company (incorporated body)

The withholding tax will be withheld by REIT before paying out the dividends to unitholders. In other words, unitholders will be receiving dividends, net of withholding tax.

The withholding tax is a final tax. Individuals and non-corporate investors are not required to declare REIT dividend income in their tax filing/returns. As such, you are not allowed to claim tax refund or tax offset in your tax returns, as opposed to other dividend income (provided you are receiving taxable dividend or non single tier dividend from your share investments). However, REIT dividends which attracts only 10% in the hand of unitholders, which is more tax beneficiary to those higher income earners whose tax brackets could be higher than 10%, up to a maximum of 27%.

3.    No withholding tax – tax-resident company investors. REIT dividend will be taxed in their tax computation. General company tax of 25% is applicable.

I think it depends if you're a tax resident. IMHO if you're not a tax resident, you're not required to pay tax.

[quote]You are non-resident under Malaysian tax law if you stay less than 182 days in Malaysia in a year, regardless of your citizenship or nationality.

Non-resident individual is taxed at a different tax rate on income earned/received from Malaysia.

You will not be taxable if:

1. Employed in Malaysia for less than 60 days
2. Employed on board a Malaysian ship
3. Age 55 years old and receiving pension from Malaysian employment
4. Receiving interest from banks
5. Receiving tax exempt dividends

If taxable, you are required to fill in M Form .
