if budget is your constrain, Sony NEX or the now replaced A series will do the job.. A number of people are selling off even almost new NEX 6 or 7 camera to get the latest A6000 so you can strike good bargains.. Being small and compact, that means you dont need to carry heavy tripod.. and get those that you can hang weights below.. (you can use your camera bag as ballast weights).. I do that and it does the job.. Finally - you need a remote release with at least 2 sec delay on.
Remove all the hand shake. |

QUOTE(dianqing99 @ Jan 19 2014, 12:44 PM) there's some rule to follow to photography the milky wayactually. Quoted for reference. Thank you you need to get a wide aperature lens (at lease F2.8) and the iso starting from iso 3200 (you can raise it up if you didn't get the milky way) about the shutter speed theres some maths fomula to calculate it take an example, if you have a 14mm lens and using a crop sensor so (14x1.5=21mm) then take the focal lengnt and divide by 500 (500/21=23 sec) that's how you get the shutter speed ( if i'm not mistaken ) |

yeah, mobile app really helpful to spot the milky way
i forgot the name of the app for ios i used before.. its really helpful, it tells the name of the stars and where the earth moves.. if you wanna do a star trails, you need a remote trigger. or if your camera is a Nikon, theres already a built in function for that. its time interval, something like that if im not mistaken.. then stack it in the pc software. I use StarStaX. Here's mine to share, cant see the milky way enough because the skies was not really clear at that time. Taken in Bota, Perak. Around 6am. ![]() Have fun trying them out and goodluck |
