My sis-in-law is using hood with mesh filters as well. She seldom cooks. Even she cooks, also instant noodles only. When I touched the filter, it is so sticky. This filter is easily clogged with grease. No wonder the performance is poor.
*
Is better to have a sticky mesh than having a sticky / oily internal. I am using baffle now. One will trap more oil another will trap less. There are good mesh and bad baffle too. Mesh if worse just replace it is also cheaper.

Induction only work on stainless steel pots, lower electricity consumption and faster heating but some say radiation (this i dont agree though)

Ceramic works on any pots and user friendly
*
Not all stainless steel pots will work, older ss will not work because the bottom thickness are thin. SS that support induction will have a label on it.

All sifu,
I am interested to switch to induction cooker but i heard from relatives that the electricity bill could be very high due to this induction? Anyone has this experience?
Thanks..
*
Switch from gas or ceramic?

If switch from gas is surely more expensive. Than again gas price already increased so it maybe even.

Bro, i am
Switching from gas to induction. Lets take cost to boil same volume of water, which method is more expensive and roughly how much?
I believe the price to boil the same amount of water is the same if using induction and kettle, am I right?
*
Lets use this site for calculation https://www.easycalculation.com/physics/the...-calculator.php

Some number are just estimate

Initial Water temperature : 26
Boiling temperature : 100
Volume : 4L
Watt : 2000watt
Efficiency : 85% (wikipedia)

Time required = 12mins
KWH = (12/60) x 2000 = 400wh per day
30 days = 12,000wh = 12kwh
So you use 12kwh per month.

Depending your current TNB bill,

- if still within 300kwh unit, you pay average of RM 0.26 x 12 ~= RM 3.1,
- if >300kwh<600kwh, you pay average RM 0.386 x 12 ~= RM 4.63

Gas, i forgot the formula so can't give you much calculation. As for me, I am using Gas, and refill tank about 5 months once. I boil water everyday, and weekend cooking sometime very heavy cooking.

Bro, pay 4 buck to boil 4L of water is a bit too expensive compared to gas. Do you use 2000W for 12 mins to boil the water?
*
I boil only 3+L per day, about 10mins with gas, mostly are less than 10min, but always took me 1-2mins later to off the gas... lazy walk over when the whistle sound..

Hi all

Am reno my kitchen. Looking for hood n hob. Any views on Celini brand hood? Also am planning to discard my stainless steel and gettg tempered glass ones. Question is will glass crack if we put hot pots on it? Pls advise on these. Tks
*
Sudden change in temperature will also one of the enemy. Putting pots on it is ok if your pot material are not harder than the ceramic glass (most are not) unless you use the harden ceramic pots, and cast iron. Putting the pots may not break it but very likely will scratch it.

Do you have any issue on cleaning the inner part? How does the slow fire performance?
*
Is in thai, but you can see how is the flame setup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOpchyK4Erw

Don't get brainwash by some model design with claim overflow cannot go in. I got friend using the so called exclusive model, the small burner produced yellow flame, while the outer is still ok.

hob market is getting competitive. there is no ultimate model. every brand keeps bringing out new feature. all demo is said and done by the seller.

use with care, overflow issue basically doesn't disturb the user. if one frequently faces overflow issue, one is said to be a messy user, agree?
*
Yes, and all good stove are design to cater for that, and easy removal and cleaning if the mess did happen. The worse overflow is congee / porridge / red bean soup, plane water is nothing. My stove have been taking such abuse when my daughter was very young, I used to make congee and always forgot to open the cover. It still going strong.

Found a video in my laptop, as shown, the flame is adjustable to blue flame. There are some customers who called up and asked about the yellow flame and we do guide them how to adjust but never customers call up and complain yellow flame that could not be fixed. The hob originally is able to produce blue flame. From your comment, it sounds like all unit will produce yellow flame.

" I got friend using the so called exclusive model, the small burner produced yellow flame, while the outer is still ok"

Your second comment

"This stove was working fine and couple of overflow it become like this"

So, we can clearly tell the hob originally was blue and it is able to produce blue flame but could be slightly yellow due to several overflow which could be adjusted as shown

Hope you understand, i am just trying to clarify things to avoid forumers from misunderstanding the issue. No hard feelings and thanks for sharing smile.gif
It will not auto shut off, most gas hobs come with Flame Failure Device and it will only shut off the gas if there is no flame not when overflow.

The GCG seal burner design is to prevent overflow from going into the hob. If the hob is wide open as shown in the sample, the spill will enter your hob and it might clogged up the nozzles as well. Even with seal burner design, i wont say the GCG series hob is spill proof but as tested several times at home and been using for 3 years+, my hob is still not clogged and still producing nice and strong blue flame. If you say your friend hob has minor yellow flame due to the overflow several times which could be rectified by adjusting the valve at the bottom, imagine what happen if the hob is wide open? Not just the hob is dirty in the inside which require removing of the glass to clean it, the nozzles could get clogged (no flame coming out at all)

*
As mention, yellow is only inner not outer, photo already show. Unless you telling me the inner ring is control by independent airflow from the outer.

If you ask a seller comment on brand they don't carry do you think you get good comment or comment that is better than the brand they carry?

Is better to do your own research.

if it is a brand new unit, check wiring is it 20amp direct wire connection, cannot use plug.
*
Why say so? My understanding thin wires only will burned not causing the unit to function for awhile and need few days to rest.

You can first test the connection hose with soap water first to ensure is not coming from hose or connection part.

my GAG76202 is almost 3yrs and just now give me some problem, which right side burner cant ignite and spark, even change a new battery still the same.
The sparkling sound keep come from bottom part instead of upper part! Need to ask technician to come and check!
*
Oh, i thought this brand suppose to be very good and highly promote here.

Back to the sound of spark sound, most stove design the ignite circuit to spark all the other burner, the sound you hear could be coming from other burner. And can the stove light up with external ignition like using lighter?

Nothing wrong with the brand, and even other brand. Make your own judgement and survey. Don't cloud by marketer.

can buy cooker hood online like lazada, taobao???

cheaper RM1000 for fotile model 9009 which sell at malaysia is RM 4000++
*
Don't buy in Taobao if you not a handyman, because you still have to pay for installation. Warranty is another issue.

Lazada is good buy if come with installation and local warranty. They have lots of subsidized sales, even lower than dealer price.
