QUOTE(FreakyRookie @ Jan 28 2014, 10:43 AM) No matter how i smash de door, 1/10 chances to close de door...T.T... That's the reason why I will never buy any first-batch of cars no matter how desperate or impulsive I could be....Look like they are rushing in installation so simply fix it, agak agak ngam ngam only... Don not have QC? First batch of cars usually have a lot of problems .. be it T or H..... although Persona is not a new model but the SV variant is and with the rush of production I believe it somehow contributed partly to the major product quality.... |

QUOTE(rex82 @ Feb 6 2014, 04:30 PM) Hi guys, previously my screeching issue whie driving is coming from brake pads. Now change to new set of brakepad to use, and still mornitoring the sound. Too expensive...Oh ya, and i did ask for timing belt set change and the mechanic quote me Rm500++ using back the original from Proton, is it overprice? Timing belt + workmanship should be RM300+ I am talking about Bosch Belts @ 100,000km, NTN Made in Japan Bearing. 3x NTN Oil seals. I would also encourage you to change the V-Belt (Alternator, PS and A/C) around RM60+ Water Pump is up to you but basically I do advise to change all together cost around RM120 (Paraut Japan) Now if all these then RM500 does justify.. else just find another foreman and make sure you don't use lousy stuff... |

QUOTE(szaku89 @ Feb 8 2014, 12:43 PM) My new persona sv has a small prob, which is for the backdoors, I need to slam harder to close it. front doors no prob. Is it normal for new cars to hv stiffer doors? Both back doors? As I know it's always quite common for Proton to have 1 car which is slightly harder to close |

QUOTE(Cavino @ Feb 10 2014, 03:27 PM) Anyway, I tot new proton policy requires usage of their SC lube (most likely PETRONAS semi, etc) or else void engine warranty? I think what exactly is.... in order to not voiding your warranty.. Your car can only be serviced at any Proton authorized service centre... and Petronas engine oil is the only authorized engine oil that you should find in Proton authorized SC.Long time ago before Petronas it was Shell but that was like long time ago. But we've seen certain dealers SC carry also Shell Engine Oil, now not sure if Shell Engine Oil is also authorized Proton EO or not... Or certain SC bring in due to demand and it's at most meant to be used on those out-of-warranty Proton cars... Someone can clarify this? QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Feb 11 2014, 10:21 AM) Don't quite think...Unless it is stated.. Some SC are privately run and they bring in certain EO to cater for some demands... Warranty are given by Proton not SC hence not sure if Proton allows that, but then can always check with WeCare to find out |

QUOTE(Cavino @ Feb 11 2014, 10:39 AM) If SC enter into their system that the service is done with SC parts and EO, its authorized. If SC flout Proton ruling, its their problem. As far as users are concerned, they are using authorized parts in an authorized SC. At most Proton can censure that SC but cannot blame users when they have used parts of PROTON's AUTHORIZED SC provided as required by Proton Warranty in booklet. Yes you do make a point there however still it is quite far to conclude if things would go well in the event of some "shits" happen.Of course if that SC list the EO as "own engine oil", that will be unauthorized but when listed serviced with engine oil and oil without any "own", "outside" or similar words, its not a problem. But also for some SC that do not follow SOP, there is also a point to make on their professional services... which is one of the main reasons why people want to go COSE. Some people may dislike Petronas EO but at least they are convinced that the SC pretty follows the standard set by Proton. But the best is always to clarify with Proton themselves, let me see if they will respond to my email. Until then, we are still far away from conclusion. |

QUOTE(Cavino @ Feb 11 2014, 01:12 PM) You are actually making a simple case complex. When you service at SC, use SC's product (unless they say its an optional non approved products), and get a official bill from sc listing item service WITHOUT any "own", "outside" and "external" items, thus making the service "official". Proton or any other car manufacturer WILL HONOR the warranty. Even if SC goes off course, as long as the bill is an official one, it means it has been inputted into the official system, that will be official. Not trying to say whoever is right or wrong here. When shit happens, waving the official service shits ala bill will get it done under warranty when applicable. This is quite the norm in ALL authorized SC regardless of car makes. Shits happens all the times in my other car clubs.......as long as there's official reported case with service sheet listing the issue, SC will proceed with warranty claim one way or another (might delay, arguments, but in the end still honor them) unless you really install or use external items without authorization. ps. I doubt you have heard of any case of ppl REALLY gotten their warranty void due to use of external lube. External lube here ALWAYS means lube obtained from outside source other than SC coz no one can verify if the lube is a fake or of substandard quality while SC presumely have to obtained from official or proven source (non-fake) unless they want their SC status revoked. Just trying to get the real understanding and process (SOP), if any If you get what I mean. |

QUOTE(lionheart23 @ Feb 15 2014, 05:20 PM) hi guys, Seldom travel long distance/stuck at traffic jam all that.. Not really a hardcore/aggresive users .. the difference is minimal imo.i just bought my persona on last month and next week gonna go for first service. the sc recommend me to use semi syn engine oil since i less travel for long distance. seldom reach 10k for 3 months............. is their default Petronas semi is good enough for me to use? anyone experiencing the problem with this brand? or shall i stick with fully type? but some said fully helps to save more on fuel consumption compare to semi.................please advice Semi Synthetic is good enough... Service interval is at maximum 6 months by duration. |

QUOTE(lionheart23 @ Feb 15 2014, 06:06 PM) thanks for your reply. Of course there's difference but how big is it depends on your usage/driving style.i'm just a very normal user who seldom give hard pressure on engine, mostly just max speed just 120km. i change my gear on every 2.5 spin, manual car. never press engine up to 3k spin is Semi Synthetic clean enough compare with fully one? or it's the same? just make sure i service on time, then everything will be fine compared to those who fully all the time? Base on what you mentioned about your driving behavior and light usage, semi-synthetic would do the job very well already. The remaining of the money could be put to better use in taking care the car such as using 100% genuine items and doing 100% service in SC by following schedule.. it makes a difference.. Lastly, keep all the service records/log book (receipt) in one file and trust me, when you decide to sell one day it helps. |

QUOTE(dares @ Feb 16 2014, 04:56 PM) you can change the oil out at regular mechanic shops since it's cheaper. Just make sure next scheduled service go back to authorized SC to keep your warranty. Yeah... can re-use the oil filter kot. Just to have to make sure he tells the mechanic shop to reuse.. and if they change make sure it's a genuine Proton oil filter.. later 1 Osaka up.... and next change SC noticed it then warranty could be gone.. |

QUOTE(voscar @ Feb 18 2014, 03:52 PM) same with my abah, last time his wira 1.6 auto atf never changed until around 60-70k km. 1 day his friend's also same wira 1.6 gearbox kong kena towed only he realise atf need to change. Sometimes the mentality of people "Buying Proton, service outside", "Buy Toyota/Honda, must service back at authorized SC" Unless they know what they are doing.. knowing what are the schedule maintenance.. it's better that they send back to SC for maintenance else all you do is usually just "tukar engine oil" then jalan. Most mechanic outside are too bz to initiate a full-points check and find it rather time wasting. They only work as your instructions ... |
