same goes with sabiki but i no use sabiki coz bulu not recomended in Yan.

frozen bait use prawn and kembung.
live bait use anything also can. i not sure, i no use live bait. very geli.

pond wor. u let it free spool i assume u will release around 100m of 30lb of braid.

100m around u if nobody then ok.
if 100m around u full of ppl , i confirm either 50% will spit at u and the other 50% will beat u up, or u will get cursed mother father sister and all.

so yes, if i was in your scenario, i would just stop spool until line break rather than to release 100m of line and let other ppl beat me up and curse my father mother sister.

if lucky, only the ones beside u will reel up. 100m is a looooong path. good luck.

ok here's my trip off Yan recently with no photos as most of the time the weather was bad and the cloudy gloomy days with rough seas was tough even on my body.

So basically under navigation the boatman brought us out for 48 hour fishing expedition. I was on board with unker david and steve from ironman team. leisure fishing only for us all. boat was 2 deck 80' which can accomodate easily 18 including crew. total # of pax onboard was 10. we like free space. Charter price including captain and full board is 450 per pax.

Day 1, headed out near andaman. 60NM +/- phuket island. Weather drizzling, waves 7+ knots. WHOLE EFFING DAY AND NIGHT DRIZZLE

daytime empty handed.

what 7 also dun have, wave around 5 knots but this time anchored.

+/- 60NM off langkawi

weather bad, still drizzle.

drop for these areas is between 70m-150m

hand gonna putus if u jig for more than 10 minutes straight.



Summary - this tekong can go jiak sai. not gonna recommend. not gonna blacklist him because he's been very accomodating and nice to us all. but definitely will NOT list his number here.

hundreds of bucks and all i got was a small ikan merah and sore arms sore legs sore body and a flu. fark this shit.

i'm gonna stay home for a few months to rest up. this trip was very difficult on my body.

Tanduk not suitable for >4knots. Confirm will kena belasah by whoever is standing near me. So is direct drop paternoster rig.

kolam meru (CNR)

RM 25/4hr.

i highly rekomen this place for NON-STOP ACTION

in 1 hour i managed to up about 7 patin.
their patin size range about 1kg to 11kg. jackpot is for BOTH SMALLEST PATIN AND BIGGEST PATIN.


Pros-

very easy to "fish on". i love this.
ppl are all very very friendly.
cheap rates of RM 25/4hr with jackpot for smallest patin and biggest patin lol.
got kantin to fill up your stomach
many many place to park your car.


Cons -

damn far for me from my house though
roads damn dark and lubang manyak
pond damn bloody small.
water is dirty like fuark
only caught patin and nothing else
lines can cross easily as place is super small and crowds can swell. anything above 10 ppl u are in shit
alot of irritating bugs and mosquitos at certain times.




Tips:

bring your own bait. u cna use dedak soya laced with santan . strawberi flavor is rekomended here with a hint of nenas.
roti is also a fav here with strawberi and laced with a hint of nenas.

spring bom is optional. max mata is 2. trust me, u only need 1. the fish here super hungry 1.
insect manyak so bring your own repellant or wear full armor.
pacak bring your own. tak payah batu. pond too small to add in batu.
bring a bottle of water to wash down your gear when you are done. if not smelly like fuark like that
dont forget to weigh your small fish for prize money. under 2kg patin you should be on the jackpot list for smallest fish.

leader line 30-40lb also dont make a diff as water very farking dirty so cant see shit. 2-3 inchi enough if on spring bom, if direct latch use about 5" enough.

that night i think the whole entire gang up fish around 100times in less than 4 hours. around 7 ppl fishing . 3 my gang, 4 unknown. up non stop. all bait also they makan but we decided strawberi coz from far already smell their strawberi liao.

this weekend i'm going nearby that kolam meru to 5 minutes drive from there . pond is called kolam downhill.

aparently the ppl at kolam meru told me bout it say just as nice and slightly bigger and cleaner but is very very near cemetary. they say they felt uncomfortable fishing there .
dunno la, i go try then i let u all know next week.

Yeah. Crowd will decrease as nearing cny . Even kpbl also full house. My friend went over at 8pm on Saturday. No place to sit even.

David@ironman invited me off to 45nm south china sea off rompin in april 20th. 2d1n fishing expedition. i wont be going for that even. if you want u can take my slot, just gimme details then i tell him u go on behalf of me. they going for gear testing. for me if i go also i just there to songlap their catches home oni lol. usually his test gear trips not expensive 1. if u put on your 10 sen face like me, then free mia. hahahaha.

anyway back to your question., rumah rakit day trip usually if small rakit is RM 70 and below. maybe now naik harga i not so sure. last year pricing was about there. but then i only went to sungai besar rumah rakit. no fish 1. that's why i dont suggest u go sg besar. bagan lalang area still got decent catches.

also i dont rekomen u go angler paradise at pulau indah. lagi no fish 1 there. the jetty summore damn expensive. can forget that place. my friend came back early january from there complain like fark. lol.

if u dun mind abit of driving there's a lighthouse in lukut area in negeri sembilan. is actually not far from selangor anyway. there is RM 5 full day per rod. a few ppl from ironman team actually went there and said that place clean and decent.

laguna and kpbl open during cny. confirmed.

Laguna no pacu. All dead. Only got few patin n few Mekong and few tongsan. And a stupid liko . The tilapia there berlambak.

Exotic expensive ler. Perak so many pond . Usually I visit the pond is bear the haven ipoh. Syiok. Up fish non stop action.

tiger 5 is like the exotic and fishing buddies. easy up fish, mainly used to test gear before go out to sea.

LS fish pond also RM 100 per hour. I think I can safely say LS is highest paid pond in Msia.

Damn alot of rules and the patin Mekong is smaller than the ones at exotic . Been there once, didn't enjoy.
