QUOTE(AlexNg87 @ Jun 30 2014, 01:37 PM) I was a fan of berkley big game as a kid because i used to do bottom fishing alot so its very tough but for casting and retrieving often its very tiring because need alot of energy to cast and reel due to the resistance. In pj there is a shop in those flats, i forgot the name of the shop, i think they have sufix mono line there |

What's sakai?
GT bout 500g are not bad eating, big ones meat is rough, same goes for all pelagic fishes like tuna and mackerel, my guess due to their powerful nature |

QUOTE(runeX @ Aug 15 2014, 08:05 AM) again i'll said.....is it necessary to spend 600+ on a spinning reel. You are questioning people when you are using lpbc for surf fishing? forgive me for being rude.....yeah I've read the spec.... http://www.quantumfishing.com/products/1904/Cabo-PTs.aspx seriously what kind of fish is he planning to catch it with? bull shark? we don't have those here... you are not forgiven for being rude but you are forgiven for being ignorant. QUOTE(cyapd @ Nov 28 2014, 08:07 PM) newbie in fishing equipment here. can any sifu recommend me what can i get with, let's say ard rm500-600? What fishing would you like to do? Casting? Bait?oh,just plan to play with freshwater. Generally get a size 3000 shimano and a 6-7 feet 8-16lb rod would suffice for general usage. Although its not as fun as a dedicated rod and reel for a specific purpose. |

QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ Nov 29 2014, 10:49 AM) Hmmm bro...im just wondering why would you reco shimano instead of daiwa?i mean,i would reco shimano too..just why lah Lower end daiwa spinning not as good as shimano, except for the newer 2014 models like the exceler, not bad reel for rm300, looks awesome too but hard to find 2014 daiwa here yet so didnt recommend daiwa All the new daiwa's looks great man, but the magseal thingy seems to bother me. Shimano also easier to get spare parts i think. QUOTE(cyapd @ Nov 29 2014, 11:56 AM) Which would be the best choice? 1) Daiwa Legalis - Better get the 2014 daiwa exceler, better in every aspect with slightly added $$Saw these few models around: 1) Daiwa Legalis 2) Ryobi Ap Power 3) Penn Battle 4) Shimano Sahara All within 2000-3500,i think. Later gonna survey for rod pula 2) Ryobi Ap Power - Good but heavy, not suitable for casting. 3) Penn Battle - Battle old model, better go for conflict, again heavy but good value for the price. 4) Shimano Sahara - Sahara not bad, a step up would be Nasci although i hate the plasticky handle |

The most shocking thing happened today while fishing, literally
While casting I can feel static shock on the rod, and it wasnt a minor one, I can hear *pak pak pak* sound from the static electricity while the line was going out, the jolts from the static hurts quite painfully every cast. The static even charges the reel! It went on for a good half an hour or so before the static electricity died down. Damn what an experience |
