was planning to go fishing tomorrow.

but its holiday.......bummer!!
gotta wait another week before I go hunting T.T

i'm......still having doubt about whether those wire trace is enough to stop those sons of a btiches from gnawing my hook off.

then there's that part about buying a multiplier reel for long range. its really is hard to tell whether or not abu Garcia ambassadeur 5600 level wind are really good for long range..........I mean there are other reels like that daiwa t3 ballistic which has long range capability......or so they claimed. still........rm1000+ for such a small reel......for real now? wouldn't it better to swing it for a larger and more powerful reel like shimano tiagra or TLD 2 speed.

not a bad trip. although I was preparing to murder pufferfish today. as I've prepare a lot of hook tied with wire trace ^^

today score......

sickle fish - 1 - release alive!

sand bream - 3 - one release alive, one died, one murdered......yeah I ran out fresh bait.....have to sacrifice it.

whiting one release one.......in my freezer waiting to be dissected!!

that's about it.

recently came across three highly recommended reel which are able to cast a very long distance. they are also build tough.

avet sx

but this is single speed though.

penn 525 mag

this look nice but there are some problem with it. I heard its easy to get backlash when casting with this reel.

Abu 6500 c4
user posted image
abu Garcia are well known for long range casting. the downside however is that their drag sucks......
you have to upgrade their stock drag with carbon tex.........what ever the hell that is.

I just can't cast beyond "100ft" with my lexa 100.

SON OF BIATCH!!!

............................

as good as daiwa lexa.........its still not a baitcasting reel mean for casting long distance. T.T

I'm gonna need another reel. i'm gonna need one that's designed for casting beyond 100m. and no i'm talking about a surf spinners. by the day those surf are for cowards and losers and ball-ess dudes who are so afraid of swinging a multiplier reel.

im bored.

those chicken shit carangidae fish are so freaking hard to catch T.T

sorry my bad!

my latest research shown that while abu Garcia ambassadeur are well known for casting long distance. they aren't perfect nor are they a recommended level wind reel. first of all a stock abu Garcia ambassadeur.......lets take the 7000i made from Sweden for examples. I was actually hoping to buy this one. what I like red colour!! any way.......to start with abu Garcia ambassadeur stock drag sucks. newly bought abu Garcia ambassadeur 7000i has low quality drag washer which is why you need to switch it out with a carbontex drag washer. other than that abu's gear aren't the quality gear you would expect to find in a rm400+ reel. look no offence to abu supporter. just maybe those abu reel that cost way over rm 500+ are those that's worth buying. but i'm not planning on spend another 500 on a almost useful reel. I already had one that's cost rm 500 which is my lexa 100. stupid......should have bought the size 300 T.T

should have pay or do more research before buying it. T.T

other than abu, I also came across three reels. two from penn.......the squall star drag and level wind. this two reel are both equal in quality and durability. but level wind is the only which has a left handed model. now here's the best part this two reels cost no more than 400. and its proven tough, cast a mile and highly recommended by surf angle.

and here's for the sucky part. I can't find it in Ipoh T.T
all they have are penn squall 25 star drag. they don't make left handed version of those. I know I know..........left hand or rite. it'll the same. I get it. but get this. penn squall 25 star drag got no line guide. that's gonna be problematic. so screw you! i'm gonna try to find me a penn squall left handed level wind.

I went to Ruskijang last Sat and i was the only one there from 8am to 1pm and i didnt catch anything.
Not even a single fish. The place is clean and comfirtable but the owners decided to make it into a haruan pond instead and didn't top up any fishes for a long time.

At least they should stock some pacus or something but the owners decided not to. Wont go there ever again.

now then where was I..........

ah yes my quest in obtaining a new multiplier reels.

so far all I got are bupkes.

they don't have level wind penn squall for sale in Ipoh. nor do they have penn squall 15. what they do have are 25n and 12.

25 doesn't have any brakes and 12........less just say its rather small.
if I'm gonna used this penn squall as a long range artillery then i'm gonna need a reel that has a high line capacity.

so I found my penn squall left handed level wind.

got it for 350.

that had to be the largest over head reel I ever used.

the reel is horribly solid. like a freaking rock. drag is strong. and the gear a smooth.......but its freaking hard to control. lucky those r crap fishing line I used. if not I just wasted a lot of line.

yup I should have bought an abu instead of penn squall T.T

paid RM350 for a penn squall 30 left handed levelwind.

word of advise beginner to a multiplier reel should always start with a reel with a centrifugal braking system. they r the best in braking system in a multiplier reel other than mag1. remember remember the 5 of November to always buy a reel with a braking system. trust me it help a lot.

why can't I go beyond 70ft with my daiwa lexa.

even with 36g sinker, it doesn't increased the distance much.

cheh............

look......its not wrong to buy a large reel. my lexa can cast around 60-70ft. i'm hoping my new multiplier reel can break that record. if that reel wasn't such a pain in the ass to used. I should be expected to cast at least 100yrd. 100yrd is about 300 ft. that's 5 times the distance i'm swinging now.

hmmm I don't think the problem is that the reel itself has no braking system. I think the problem me. I can't really feel the weight of the sinker. penn squall 30 is quite heavy. when I used I cast my lexa even with a small sinker like 10-15 gram, I felt the weight. when I cast I feel the pulling force. with penn squall I don't.

stupid reel. should have settle with the abu.

what? they r rather expensive compare to penn squall

an abu Garcia amb 5600 c4 cost about 600+ If i'm not mistaken.
beside a lot of review said abu drag and gear sucks.
I mean what's the point of paying 600+ for a reel that needed another few hundreds just to keep the swing smooth

this penn squall 30 that I got is rather cheap. probably that's why its so cheap since no one got the nerves to used it.
I mean penn squall 12 the smallest in the series cost 300 only......so what the hell.......the size 30 is like 3 times bigger than the 12, has level wind and its left handed
