how about xnote7?

Already flashed immediately getting the zip from you. That time I do dirty flash and seems there is some battery drainage. Yesterday I reflash again with full wipe and now battery seems getting better

Dear guys,

Do any one have any idea on this?

Is it my firmware have issue ?

Honestly I only install Kies for the sake of Samsung driver for Odin or USB tethering function.

For firmware update, it is best to do FOTA or download the full firmware and flash via PC Odin or MOP

WiLyi, I UV -65 but not stable, phone auto restart when Antutu Benchmark. Haha!

Now try -55, see working or not.
*
I didn't run any benchmark but so far uv -65 is very solid for me. On idle with 4G for 2 hours didn't even drop a single percent on battery.

uv -75 is quite unstable. Device reboot when I try to wake the phone.

Oh, I try -55 and it is stable during benchmark without overclocking. Did you overclocking it? Now I try overclocking one step to 2496Mhz see how.

Edit: What governor & I/O you use? Is noop and ondemandX the best? I overclocking to 2496Mhz but don't see any increase in performance, still same 35K++, I do get 38K++ for CivZ kernel.

Edit2: Remove the overclocking since I don't see different, now try -60 see how.

Edit3: Now at -60 without overclocking and seems ok, bechmark success. Will keep this and see how. I swithc to interactiveX, not sure is better or not, but do score higher 36K now. tongue.gif

WiLyi, you got any better suggestion? wink.gif
*
I'm using row and ondemandx. My frequency is min at 300 and max at 2.2ghz. I have never do any benchmarking before. For me lean kernel is more battery friendly than civz engine and it is minimalistic. Maybe one day I will try the latest civz kernel

hi there can i ask u something? i am on civs kernel 2.4 now using undervolted 96MHz...ondemand and sio governor...is it battery saving versus your 1.7.2 lean kernel? may i know what settings are u using in lean kernel? and may i know how do u undervolt using trickster? meaning each voltage u undervolt or what? can u give me your set up? thanks for bundle really ^.^
or anyone can share me your build for the maximize battery lives
*
Is very hard to say which kernel work best for you until you try each kernel yourself. For me I still prefer lean kernel over civz as it is more minimalist. If you like more features and would like to test other governor there are others like abyss, wonder child, civz

For uv you can use trickster or system Turner. For me I UV -65 for all frequency. I suggest you to uv -50 then slowly go lower.

Some kernel might work best for me but not for you or vice versa. Just take our feedback as a reference but not as a fact

but there are i/o such as row noop dealine....are u using odemandx or interactivex and which do you think its more battery saving? i just want more batterysaving only hope u can help me =D i will try to undervolt it.... i thought that civs kernel has underclocked to 96 mHZ which currently has the lowest frequency which means can save more battery? sorry for my bad english and thanks for helping =D tongue.gif
*
I'm using row as my I/O and OndemandX governor. So far battery is very good for me, better than civz 1.9. I haven't try out the latest release of civz though.

Sometimes underclock too much is not a good thing as the phone might be slow in catching up your process. This is what i encountered.

Yank's kernel ? Which 1 ah ?  . I'm using Custom N3 , 2nd day already and so far so good . Like Andrewtst said , its very smooth .

Oh ya , his V2 is out by the way so go to the last page for the download link
*
This one.

http://yank555-lu.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=328

I just downloaded it and haven't flash yet. Because I see many kernel have patch and fix from yank, so thought of flashing his kernel directly and have a test.

Yes, custom n3 is very smooth. I only flashed it few hours ago after finish testing on lean kernel. So far so good, and I hold on my comment on the battery life first, still can't conclude it yet. Will test out his v2

I don't think it is uv problem. I uv -65 and took picture aggressively and didn't face any issue. I only have issue with camera when I'm using abyss kernel.

Each device is different. What is good for one device can be too much for another. Thats why its a rule to never use another ones kernel setting and best to test your own.
*
QUOTE(antt00 @ Dec 25 2013, 09:07 PM)
A stable phone is always the best. Thats why in all my years of playing with custom kernel since HD2 days, I have never UV nor lower the lowest cpu freq below the stock value. For me these settings are not worth it. It brings instability and whatever benefits we get from extra minutes of battery time is not useful at all cos most of us would have charged the phone by then.
*
Can't deny on this, what work best for me might not be the same for others. Just like everyone said the smoothness of the new custom n3 is very smooth, but for me the smoothness for all custom kernel is more or less the same. But what that kernel creates lots of wakelock for me which impact on my battery life.

Currently I'm using yank's kernel which is also smooth and battery friendly. Wakelock is very less.

Hmm... for me after using so many kernels.. faux lean custom n... I found our that the best battery and also stable kernel is the stock kernel ..currently i am using xnote v7 and think that stock ml2 kernel is the best in battery but not performance...
*
That's a good sign that development is on going. So far I find yank kernel and lean kernel is the best. They are simple, minimal, stable and more stock like.

Something I like about yank kernel, wakelock very very few, when I didn't use it, it really is in deep sleep.

Because yank's kernel has included aroma installer. Most of the setting will be set during installation

Kernel in Aroma! 1st time I seen.

Most of the setting I leave it by default as what is being chosen. Many things there which I'm not familiar.

I only change the i/o, disable tap 2 wake and some other things

Anyone is using Vulpix mod? In the original thread, this mod is receiving a very good feedback. Later reach home will try this mod and see how big the performance change it brings.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583835

But still better do a nandroid backup before flashing it

The net tcp buffersize thingy.. I only deleted all the tcp then the speed return to normal.. I'm on Maxis ..

You mean in X-Note build prop got speed limit?

Better check with your bank on that transaction. Should be able to cancel or dispute.

Bro, better register a PayPal account and purchase online stuff through PayPal. It's better and more secure.
