We have some players who are good but needs some sharpening (or a whole lot of it).
1. Sterling - his decision making 2. Aspas - needs more confidence to actually exude his talents 3. Coutinho (his shooting is like me kicking with my left foot - ie. horrible as f*ck) |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jan 7 2014, 10:43 AM) I frankly don't give a crap about the mancs at this point. The underwhelming comments and archaic tactics sound all too familiar. You could replace all those names above with Hogdson, Liverpool and Fulham, and you would be describing the dark age of Liverpool under Roy Hogdson. People tend to use BR as a lifeline for Moyes but forget that BR came to a team that has finished outside the top 5 in three successive seasons and was already on it's 4th manager in just three years. Moyes went to a team of Champions and made them vulnerable. Few teams were able to secure away wins at OT - breaking a few decades long records. Normally i'd say give him time but seeing Martinez able to improve Everton's style of football in his very first season, might suggests that time is not the issue at all.To summarise my thoughts in their collapse (and any wandering manc is welcomed to dispute my opinion), I think it has to do with Moyes trying to get them to play more direct instead of the passing game Fergie preferred. The mancs were a menace when they pinged passes about and players zipped around the park. They were so quick, defenders couldn't keep up. Now, they have become more one-dimensional but direct football is what got Everton to where they were last season and the reason Moyes rose to prominence. His problem is he doesn't have the personnel for this brand of football which is why he bought Fellaini who is struggling because the rest of his mates are coming to terms with Moyes' style of play. Well the mancs picked Moyes knowing what they'd get to perhaps it's just a period of transition and they need to give him time to rebuild the squad with players that suit him. I'm sure fans welcomed him with open arms but some fail to note that when you sign a manager, it means that the whole team will have to change and adapt to his approach to the game. Most just look at the manager's name and go, "oh goodie, he's done well at Everton" without realising that he plays a completely different type of football from Fergie and that it will take time for the team to change and adapt. It wasn't as though he was going to come in and take over from where Fergie left off. Look how we struggled last season with Rodgers and look how much the team has improved since. Hardly nuclear physics. |

SAF chose Moyes because he believes the man can maintain the continuity of the club's success and adapt to Man U playing style, not the other way around.Clubs don't change the entire team and rebuild from scratch because of one new manager, most of the time they want the manager to make do with what the resources they have (add / minus few players) and continue the winning formula which SAF has tirelessly built. Add to that, Man U is already a EPL winning team the season before. Do we seriously think the board of directors of Man U will allow Moyes to continue on with the current team performance? When Tito Vilanova left Barca because of his health conditions, they could have hire any coach to lead Barca, but instead they choose Tata Martino. Guess nobody heard of Tata Martino as a coach before he took over. Ever wondered why? |

Because Tata sounds better than Tito ? Just kidding man. I don't really follow what goes on with Barca but if i were to make a guess, i would say because Tata is familiar with the Barca ways ?Clubs don't change the entire team and rebuild from scratch because of one new manager, most of the time they want the manager to make do with what the resources they have (add / minus few players) and continue the winning formula which SAF has tirelessly built. Just saw the Oldham game.
Aspas was so bad. Apart from the goal, I could not understand most of the ridiculous things he tried to do especially during the 1st half. |
