Was that really the first thought that popped into your head? I'm hoping it's nothing serious. Players in that shape just don't collapse from something as simple as exhaustion. God speed.

When things like that happen, my immediate thought would be, is it similar with Marc Vivien Foe's case? Is he ok? If he is, does he need a further check on the heart whether he can continue playing at the top level or will it be too risky for him to continue with the sport.

Luckily it is just fever.

And ya, Mr. Rangka, that is not cool, bro.

the first thing that pops in my head when hearing something like that is:

what a pity, a player with such talent (and he does have talent) marred by injuries...

the likes of Aquilani, Mellor all suffered the same fate... and our favourite (lol) Owen as well.

Super Mario for sale. Latest name linked to us. What are your thoughts?

Read this on Twitter yesterday, latest update said that Milan don't want to sell him iinm.

Discipline and attitude aside, he is a great player. A target man, great finisher, above average striker if not top class I would say.

He is still young, not much game time frustrate him and lead to his discipline problem. Doubt BR would like him though.

-Watching how Joe Hart react to a harsh Jerome challenge yesterday really show what a man he is. Much respect.

There has been a lot of talk about players to buy in the coming transfer window and Suarez's new contract. Surprisingly, we haven't discussed the new contract offered to Brendan Rodgers. It's an open secret that I've grown to admire him and I have great respect for his now as a manager and as a man. Here's an article that sums up my opinions on him.

http://www.thisisanfield.com/2013/12/brend...l-new-contract/?

I've always found it a little perplexing as to why some have criticised him for not having a plan b or for not being flexible. I've always seen him as one who wasn't afraid to make substitutions even early in the game, and one to give every player an equal opportunity to impress. I think he must already have used his full squad since taking over. Also, we haven't exactly been playing tiki-taka football this season and he's changed our game to suit the players we have.

Come one Brendan. The vast majority of us are behind you. Bring us the holy grail.

You do know that we don't disagree with you on his quality, or lack of it at the moment? He collapsed and this is always a concern amongst athletes who are in peak fitness. The least you could have shown was some concern rather than citing we should sell him because he collapsed. Not rocket science.

Not a matter of quality but rather attitude when it comes to Mario. He is a destructive influence in the dressing room and is constantly at odds with a fellow teammate or manager. The question is if he is worth the trouble and in my opinion, he isn't. Given that we have Suarez and Sturridge who was in red hot form before getting injured, will Mario be content with being rotated? I think not. If you ask me we don't need a world class striker but rather one who is a reliable squad player.

Agree. Dont need another striker. Sterling can also be a temporary striker if needed.

Defensive midfield! Fast, long legs, strong on the air. This one is urgent!

i do concern on some of players.. if he collapsed and take another 2month recovery and i will say no.. we want a best-fit-man borini at the end of season.. not another fitness struggle of him anymore..

just like kelly, he's on lowest bottom of pecking order coz of his fitness.. even br rate cisokho higher than him.. he should consider his future if wanna wc slot..if montoya coming his chance is theorically over

You seem to be missing the point but I can't make it any simpler than that. Oh well. Could have fool me given your first reaction was to sell him when it could have been a serious ailment. Look how Villa stood by Petrov.

Not a striker per se but i think we need another versatile forward. Sterling is currently fulfilling that role but we're an injury/suspension away from defaulting back to Moses. Been watching a lot of Salah's videos and i think he's perfect for us. A left footed Sterling with lightning pace, quick feet and seems to be able to play across the forward lines. He's currently cup tied but that won't matter to us. His stock will rise next summer when he's available for European competitions.

Balotelli is ok, but I think there are better option actually.

Yes, that's the main problem. He is the kind of player that don't like to be rotated, all players don't like to be rotated actually, but they won't create problem like Balotelli does. One more thing, BR fancy players that work hard, and he is not one of them.

Suarez is top class. Sturridge so far had been great since he come, but I still think he could go off form anytime when things don't goes his way. I hope he prove me wrong. Other than this two, we only have Apas which had been poor. Plus the possibility of injury, we definitely need to add at least one reliable striker. Only City have 3 reliable striker(Aguero, Dzeko & Negredo) while team like MU, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal all are suffering when their main striker is injured/off form.

We sign Aspas for 7.7M, he is a squad player, and he does nothing for the team. Doesn't matter squad player or world class striker, as long and he can put some pressure on Suarez and Sturridge, and contribute something to the team , it will be great. Easier said than done though.

Honestly Mario only plays for Mario. He doesn't fight for the cause and when the going gets tough, he's more than happy to sit it out. Talented player but totally not dependable.

The problem with super mario is that while he has the hunger to win games, he also invites cards..... biggrin.gif He created more problems than solving them.
